It made me feel all fuzzy inside considering I am 7 months pregnant and spend a LOT of time in my bathroom! Good thing I have a lot of Disney reading material in there!

I read the TR and all the replies. He sure PO'd a lot of the people he was cruising with. Thems are sure mad at him!!

I'm still not sure what he did to make everyone so grouchy, but then again it's really none of my business. I've just never seen a trip report get so...so...belligerent. Threads on appropriate dinner clothing; threads on refillable mugs; threads on pulling kids from school to cruise; yes...I expect those to disintegrate into juvenille name calling by page two; but a trip report? Who would've thunk it?

Cass...I'm not even pregnant and I keep calling Lindy Loo, Lindy Loo Hoo. I'm glad I'm not the only one. Now I have to remember that Poohbush is Tina and not Lisa!! It'll probably take until next October to finally get it straight.

Wow..only 2 more months? Gosh it seems like we just found out you were pregnant. We fully expect to be somewhere towards the top of your list to see the first pictures of Kira.

Be careful what you wish for in regards to photos!!! I am the queen of the digital camera! Rob's family was making fun of me at my niece's first bday party last weekend cus I filled my 1 GB flash card. Hey, that's what digital is for n'est-ce pas?? I got some rather great photos! I mean, I got a lot of crappy ones too but hey it's digital

Hmm maybe I should start a thread over on the main DCL board about taking too many photos! I'm sure by the end of page one someone will personally attack me and tell me not to take so many photos LOL!

I just read the link you posted for us. Holy Cow!! I can't seem to see where everything went wrong.

It's kind of funny how threads go haywire. I wish I knew how to find the refillable mug thread that I started last year and was actually threatened on. I had to find a moderator and ask to lock the thread. YIKES..such innocent questions by DISer's gone crazy. The guy who posted right after mine went loco on me. I did have quite a few DISer's who were trying to help me out but this guy just wouldn't relent. I did find out later that he is somewhat of a "trouble maker" on the DISboards. I read some of the other threads he was involved in and just realized that this guy just wants to debate everything to death. Now I mostly steer clear of threads that don't involve the cruiseline.

Sheesh...is there a full moon this week?

It seems like everyone plays nice for a while but then the effort of being polite gets to be too much and all that latent hostilty just bursts out for our reading enjoyment.

I'm with Nancy - I tend to stick with the cruise-meet threads and the different review threads (WDW, USO/IOA, Restaurants) with an occassional forary into the murky waters of DISboard uncertainty whenever I have a question that my own research can't answer - It's safer that way!

(This is a long story...feel free to skip!)

So my good friends are on the Magic today (their first cruise!). It's an absolute miracle that they actually made it! Very long story, slightly shorter.... we were out for lunch together this past MONDAY and I had asked about their passports and my friend casually said that they all had passports except their youngest 5 yr old son. I was like "ummm....Connor doesn't have a passport???" (with this look on my face, which made my friend a little sick with worry) "Why not???" I asked... To which she replied, "well DCL said we really don't NEED the passports until January 1st, 2007 so we didn't bother renewing his"

"Ummm, hate to tell you this but that's for U.S. citizens, Canadians NEED passports for a 7 day cruise!" Well, my friends looked at each other and start to panic a little. So, I get my cell phone and call DCL to which they informed me that Connor could also use a long certified original of his birth certificate (he only has the short card version) AND a government issued ID. (what 5 year old has a government issued ID anyway??) Which is strange since we've cruised 3 times and all three time we NEEDED our passports, NO EXCEPTIONS!

So anyway, we cut our lunch date short and they got Connor out of school, filled out an application and made it to the passport office 2 mins before they closed for the day. The girl was very suspicious about them needing a passport in 3 days even though they showed her the cruise docs. She made no promises that it would be ready by Thursday so they were VERY stressed!!

The very next day, my friend decided that she wanted her mother-in-law's passport in hand just in case (she has alzheimers and lives with her daughter). Well then she realizes that her sister-in-law had read her Mom's passport info WRONG, it doesn't expire Feb 6 2007, it EXPIRED Feb 7 2006!!! So off they went to the passport office on Tuesday and they said it might be in by Thursday evening.

So here they were, Thursday, the day before their flight left and two people with no passports!

By some miracle BOTH passports were ready by Thursday afternoon! WHEW!! Okay, so now they can relax a bit. They finally start getting excited about the trip, after all Friday night shortly after they arrive they are going to MNSSHP for the first time!

So they get to the airport yesterday morning and guess what? Their flight is delayed and they won't get into Orlando until very very late evening!!! So they missed MNSSHP, and I'm not even sure if they were able to refund their tickets!!!

So, with any luck, they boarded the Magic about an hour ago and are sitting on deck 9 near the pool eating ice cream from Goofy's Galley thanking God that they actually made it!!!

I hope I never have to go through that kind of stress on our trips!!!

I read the DCL site FAQ and was shocked that they did make it sound like Americans and Canadians don't need a passport until January 1st! When you read Dreams Unlimited faq, they make it very clear that Canadians need a passport. It's all very confusing!! I am just glad that they were able to get their passports! Could you imagine being turned away AT THE TERMINAL!!! That would have been horrible!!

What a terrible thing to have happen - I sure hope your friends made it to the Magic OK.

Doesn't it seem like DCL (and lots of others, too) doesn't want to be too specific in their guidelines and requirements? It gives them a lot more wiggle room but it's really frustrating when you're trying to get an answer about something really important.

And I think DCL is terrible at recognizing that folks outside of the US do, in fact, cruise with them. I'll cut them some slack because I'm sure some of what happens is mandated by the brilliant (read: sarcasm) folks down in Washington DC, but I still think some of their procedures and policies need to be tweaked a bit.

But then again, what do I know?

Oh goodness, I hope they made it ! What a panic! - I need to renew mine for next year but I'm waiting a while til they start issueing the new style passport in the UK.

Ooooh...Timon, That was a scarey story. Hopefully it worked out.

I was at the Post Office today buying stamps and a guy next to me was trying to get Passports for himself and his future fiance'. There's a travel agency in the same building and he booked a cruise to propose to his girlfriend on. They told him to run over to the PO and get his passport. He was trying to get two, one for himself and one for his girlfriend. Problem was, was that his girlfriend wasn't there and he can't tell her because it's a surprise. His plan was to surprise her with a cruise and propose to her on it. I felt a little sad for him. He was so disapointed. I wonder what happened.
