Hi everybody. Yes I am back. I had fogotten to check the board for a couple of days and stopped getting those friendly posting reminders in my email box. One day I remembered that I had not been on the boards for a while and lo and behold I'm getting the reminders again!

Regarding the drydock. I couldn't remember exactly where I had heard that the drydock was in September. I do remember that it was one of the factors that I took into consideration when choosing this date. So, I did a bit of sleuthing. Here is what I found out. According to what I have been told, the Coast Guard requires that cruise ships dry dock once every two years. That means that Magic will be due Oct '07. The Westbound European cruise begins Aug 18th and ends Aug 25th. The next sailing that I find for the Magic is Sept 1st. So if they are doing a drydock next year it will be between Aug 26th and Sept 1st. This is just shy of the traditional 10 days of drydock (I don't know if the CG mandates a particular time for drydock.) Now, I have read some rumors that Disney was able to get an extension from the CG and perform their drydock in 2008 when the engines are due for an overhaul.

At any rate I am looking forward to meeting all of you in just over a years time!

The Westbound TransAtlantic cruise is actually 14 nights leaving the 18th of August. That would have it arriving back in the US on Sept 1st, leaving no days for a drydock at the end of August.

Hopefully you are correct in that DCL got an extension to 2008. I read somewhere on the boards (and posted it earlier in this thread) that someone said it is twice in a 5 year period. If that is the case, then they could go to 2008.

Either way, we should know by then end of October what is going on.

Hi Cass

thanks for clearing up "tank tops" - We call them vest tops in England - just checking they were the same things. I have some really nice ones that I intend to wear for casual evenings - evening type ones with beading and sequins etc.
Been looking on ebay for a tux for hubby - might be just as cheap to buy one and leave it in the room afterwards if it wont fit back in the case (after I've bought all my cruise souveniers!)

If nothing else - its a good excuse to shop for new clothes!

Hi Lindy - Your DD looks sooo cute! - what a good girl going in without any fuss. There are children in Ellis' class who still cry every day now - year1!
I dont even get a kiss off mine before he disapeears through the door - i guess he's just growing up - he's 6 tomorrow!

Bought him loads of little goodies and a shiny black and red new bike as a suprise (cos he had his nintendo ds early.)

Wrapped it up (not easy ) and bought a huge big bow on the handlebars and a helium balloon of the saddle. Cant wait to see his face

Jeff, plz don't remove that picture as I find myself going back to it thoughout the day at work. That has got to be the funniest thing anyone has posted on this thread yet (well, funny except to Chuck who doesn't yet know that his picture is the highlight of everyone's day).

I wish I could have found the picture of the front shot. Not sure which is more disturbing. Both will give you nightmares.

As for a strategically placed mickey head, I could think of a good place for it, but it would have to be upside down. BTW, Chuck has some mighty big shoes there. (sorry if that was a little over the top)

Dont cry - I'm still here! - even though I still havent actually booked the cruise yet. Travel agents are driving me crazy.

Been looking at the decks plan today and picking the cabins I like/dislike so I'm ready when the TA gets things sorted.

I'm sooooooooooooo excited. God knows what I'll be like nearer the time.
