October 20th 2007 Western Magic Part 9

Steve

I started putting up x-mas lights last night. I put up 2 strand of 5 (decorative starts), then 4 strands of 200.

Tonight I did 3 more strands of 200, 2 rope lights, 2 nets lights, and 1 strand of 100.

I still have more to do but I think I need Scotts help with most of the rest so we will see.

I spent $100 on new lights already in the last week. Now I am thinking of going and buying more lights. :scared1: I have not even asked him if he plans on doing the upper eves this year. If he does then we need all new icecycle lights because we got rid of them 2 years ago and said we would buy new ones next time. :scared1: :scared1:

We are trying to change what we have so we will see.

Good morning everyone:goodvibes

Happy thanksgiving to you all

Happy 1st birthday to Kira for tomorrow :bday: - I hope she likes her little prezzie we sent with teh tag bag..and

Happy anniversary to my lovely hubby Neil:love: :love2:

I actually got round to writing some christmas cards this morning! - I had 20 written before 8am:rotfl2:

We're off xmas shopping this morning - wish me luck as I battle with the crowds of anxious parents all after the same toy (Nintendo wii) and NOWHERE HAS IT IN STOCK:rolleyes:

We (or should I say I) got ours last week. They are in VERY limited supply. The manufacturer is not producing enough (on purpose).

It is very fun. A co-worker brought theirs in the other day and we were bowling. Man do I have a hook. I think this will be more fun for me than DS.

Best Buy had them on a special offer (no lower price, just available) to members of their rewards zone. Unfortunately, that was on the day we got off the ship.

So for the next 3 weeks I kept going to Best Buy when they opened to see if they got any in. Finally last week I struck it. They had 3 or 5 on the shelf. I should have picked up 2 in hindsight. I could have always sold it on Ebay if I didn't know anyone who need it.

The reason I got mine at Best Buy was because I had $300 in free BB gift cards. We wouldn't have bought it if we didn't have the free money. We have $900 left of "Thank You" rewards from Citi Bank to spend. Doesn't havet to be at BB, so I don't know what we want to buy. Gotta love shopping for nothing. I told Suz, we should just spend it on stuff we don't need. :rotfl:

I got one...I got one...I got one!

Cant believe our luck! We were in town getting some Ben 10 toys and we walked past Game shop and Neil spotted the shop assistant handing a wii over the counter:eek: - we joined the quueue and got the last one in the shop:banana:   :yay: :yay: :yay:

Just ordered Carnival and Ben 10 wii games aswell - cant wait for Santa to bring it:yay: :yay:

our son wanted one for his birthday. our dil had a surprise 30th bday party for him a few weeks ago.
so 2 months ago robin and i stood in line for 1 1/2 hrs at toys r us to get him one.
i was like, i cant believe 30 years later we are still standing in line for toys for our kid!!!
they only got 10 in and while we were waiting robin was like, "we should each get one so we can have one too"
i didnt really care but we got it.
it is fun though. cassie got one last year and we had played a little on hers.

robin and kids ran the 2 mile turkey trot in the rain this morning.
ill get her to post the pics later.

Its crazy over here in England for them. They are going on ebay for almost twice the price:eek:

It will be a family present - I'm sure we'll all be fighting over the controller on christmas day:rolleyes1

His other main toy is a snooker table that adapts to 6 other tables - eg table tennis, shuffleboard, skittles etc

We can always play snooker while we're waiting for our turn on the wii:lmao:

Congrats Karen!!!!

We were thinking of getting Carnival Games as well. Since I know you and Neil are probably like Suz and I and "have to make sure it works before Santa brings it" ;) , let me know how it is.

Ben 10, huh? DS is big into that as well. I swear, those two should be brothers.

We just have the Sports one that came with it and then we purchased Wii Play because it comes with an extra controller. The contoller itself is $40, so for $50, we got a game with it. We then bought another numchuck (sp?) controller so we're all set for 2 players.

Here's a question, and I'll have to look into this, can you play over the web on some games? That would be cool to set up play dates for DS and Ellis over the internet.

How cool! Well done to Robin and the kids!
We're entering the santa walk/run this year for charity. Its only short but everyone is dressed as Santa - looks like fun!

Stop buy the same things we are. :rotfl2:

We picked up an air hockey table for DS because it was closed out at an unbelievable price. But we are also looking at getting one of those multi-game tables as well. They have fooseball and about 6 to 9 other games on it.

The wii play was sld out - thats the 2nd most sort after here. They are going for £60 here on ebay - $120! We'll just have to share til they come back in stock.

It would be so cool to play on line with you all:banana: - I have no idea whether you can or not but it sounds like great fun! I could whoop your *ss at bowling:lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Air hockey - thats what I meant when I said shuffleboard - duh! - I couldnt think of what it was called:lmao: - we got a great deal on it - $240 down to $120:banana:

We just have to set it up xmas eve once he's gone to bed and attach a huge ribbon round it off Santa:goodvibes

Are you having all the turkey and trimmings?

I'm meant to be cooking a "special anniversary meal" for Neil - filet mignon, cheesecake etc but he's stuck at work and will be hours and hours yet:rolleyes: - I guess its anniversary filet for one then:sad1:  - oh well, we've been together for 19 years and married for 14 of them, I guess this year I'll manage to eat without him:rolleyes:

I was playing the bowling the other day at work. Once I roll a few times, I get pretty good at it.

That would be too cool if we could play against you guys. I thought it had internet connection to download games or something. Not sure if allows you to play against people. I sure hope so.

The Wii Play would only be $50 (25 pounds). It would be cheaper for me to buy it here and ship it to you. It wouldn't be more than $10 to ship.

Over here, it is everywhere.

Any news on cruise release dates yet Jeff?

I know you're the man with all the insider knowledge;)

Dont worry - I wont steal your sph room:rotfl2: - I'll just have the one on the other side of the ship:lmao:

No news.

The talk is that they will be released early December, but I think that may only be the first few months of 2009.

They have these DCL parties planned for Jan 26th which is when I bet they release the "special" itineraries and the end of the year. The Wonder is 10-years old in 2009, so I'm betting they will do something special.

How are you guys for a late August cruise? If it is something special and only in Summer, we may go on that.

10/24/09 is still our plan, but if they knock our socks off, then we're there (providing the price isn't crazy).

Hey Jeff....I just took a quick peek at the 2009 thread (saw you!)...

So, which of the "rumor" locations would you guys be interested in?

I don't think we'd do Alaska, and I think Europe would be to much $$$$...

We could be talked into a Southern-type itinerary.

But, isn't there a better chance of hurricane weather in late August????
