When I got home from work, guess what was waiting for me?

MY CRUISE DOCS!!!! I'M DOING THE DOC DANCE!!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:
:cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

They were delivered some time today by UPS. My daughter said the package was left on our porch and she found it when she got home from school.

Yeah Tammy!!!!

I want mine too. :guilty:

I agree - childbirth was easy - dealing with them afterwards is far more difficult

Spencer (first child) - water broke while at a movie around 1130pm - he was born at 530am with no issues

Avery - I put Spencer down for a nap on a Sunday afternoon and when he woke up, Grandma was there to tell him his little sister had been born (just under 2 hours)

I would happily be pregnant and give birth over and over again! The best 18 months of my life!

Jessalynn

Hey Jessalynn, I had a friend who had her first baby in 20 minutes. 20 minutes from beginning of labor to delivery. My first labor was 40 days and 40 nights long!! :rotfl2: (Sure, I can laugh about it now. It wasn't so funny some 26 years ago though). :sad2:

Is that some fancy term for a Princess? :lmao: Just kidding.

Actually, I'd rather have a root canal without novacaine.:scared1: :scared1:

Although I had novacaine, I have to say that the one root canal I had was kinda cool. He talked to me through it and said what he was doing. Much better than that darn drill for fillings.

Congrats.

Wasn't the other USer in the South or East? Looks like they are on the trucks making their way up north and out west.

My sister was like that. She had 3 kids and she had a very short labor with each one.

Mine were both about 8 or 9 hours. Not to bad, I guess.

Sorry, Jeff... You'd probably thinking,

How did I get myself into this? :lmao:

Need to share a story - hope this doesnt bore you.

Spencer is a HUGE Baseball fan....while he plays hockey, soccer, cross country running, swimming, etc - baseball is his favourite thing to do.

But he has had 3 broken bones in the last few years and that has had a real impact on his playing. (1. September 2005 - first week of school, tripped over the slide at school and broke his elbow 2. August 2006 - summer camp, was jumping off the stage and caught his foot on something and broke his wrist. 3. January 2007 - play fighting at home and came down on his leg the wrong way and broke it. Thank God he was only with us once or we would be under investigation by childcare services. Doctor says he is fine, just unlucky).

So this summer he has really been focusing on building his leg muscles back up as he was casted for 9 weeks and I was amazed at how long it took for him to fully recover - probably didnt run properly until July.

Over the last 2 weekends he has been trying out to win a spot to "practice" with the Rep Baseball Coaches over the winter. They dont pick the team until April but the coaches take about 15-16 kids and practice with them from January to April - this gives the kids a real lead on other kids to make the team as they have practices for a few months AND the coaches have got to know them!

60 kids tried out the first 2 tryouts and then we were told that only 24 woudl be invited back for the final try out

YEAH - Spencer got picked to come back last Sunday for the final tryout. He had a good try out but he was the slowest runner. We were told that they would narrow it down to the 16 kids and that they would call over the next night or two.

Sunday ngiht - no call

Monday night - no call

Tuesday night - no call

Wednesday - Mommy is getting irritated so she calls the coach and leaves a message.

2 hours later - YEAH! Spencer has been chosen to practice with the team. So no guarantee he will make the REP team but at least he is one step closer to his dream!!! We are all so excited for him!

Thanks for letting me share

I'm done for the night everyone. Robin, you're up kind of late aren't you?

Good night all.:cat:

I dont know how women do it for long periods of time - I am very TYPE A - lets decide what to do and just go and do it - I would go batty if my labour had lasted 15++++ hours - or days in your case?

Did you keep having false labour?

Thanks for backing me up Jessalynn.

Suz is the same way, she'd love to be pregnant again.

:cheer2: WAY TO GO SPENCER!!!! :cheer2:

Keep up the good work!

OK guys help me here with a what if situation:
What if someone takes my docs off my porch?

I have filled everything out online. But is there any info in them that is personal, like credit card or passport numbers?

Lori got her's and she's in Virginia. Maybe "Brown" will be in Wisconsin by Friday???

I called AAA in Waukesha since my agent is gone, and they thought maybe by the weekend or early next week.

Doesn't matter to me. As long as I get them by the 15th I'm fine.

My sister was like that. She had 3 kids and she had a very short labor with each one.

Mine were both about 8 or 9 hours. Not to bad, I guess.

Sorry, Jeff... You'd probably thinking,

it also depends on how you count the hours - some people count from the very first possible thought of a contraction - others start when the water breaks and things start happening faster

Congrats Spencer! Way to go!:thumbsup2

Isn't it fun watching your kids excel at something they love. I remember those days. Those are our fondest memories. :)

I suppose it wasn't really 40 days and 40 nights, it just felt that way. I had 44 hours of labor with Tony. 16 of it was hard labor. Lots of complications for both of us but we came through with flying colors and a c-section.

Kristin was easy peasy. No labor, just another c-section.

Ok, so now I'm really going to bed. Goodnight all.

Suz actually had 18+ hours of labor and the water actually broke up to 24 hours before she started having contractions (it punctured on the top and DS's head was pushing down blocking the canal).

They knew (well at least they should have from what we've read) that they should have done the c-section at 7:20 a.m. instead of 7:20 p.m. They had all the heart rate gizmos hooked up, even the one they screw into the baby's head. Every contraction would cause the heart rate to fall really low where they'd lose the level (that's because there was no level). DS had the cord wrapped around his chest a couple of times. So, with every contraction, it contracted his chest.
