Last thing before I go back to work. And it appears I am all by myself out here right now.

Renee is very concerned about bringing bottled water. She doesn't want to pay DCL prices for a case. She is cooking up a way to bring a case with us in a throw away suitcase. Should we worry about bringing bottled water at all. Now we do drink alot of water. Is the tap water on the ship OK?

Thoughts on the matter?

We drink the tap water and have no problems.

Also remember, if you bring a case on in Port Canaveral, the next day we're in Key West, so you could get another case if she really needs to have bottled water.

Need to share a story - hope this doesnt bore you.

Spencer is a HUGE Baseball fan....while he plays hockey, soccer, cross country running, swimming, etc - baseball is his favourite thing to do.

But he has had 3 broken bones in the last few years and that has had a real impact on his playing. (1. September 2005 - first week of school, tripped over the slide at school and broke his elbow 2. August 2006 - summer camp, was jumping off the stage and caught his foot on something and broke his wrist. 3. January 2007 - play fighting at home and came down on his leg the wrong way and broke it. Thank God he was only with us once or we would be under investigation by childcare services. Doctor says he is fine, just unlucky).

So this summer he has really been focusing on building his leg muscles back up as he was casted for 9 weeks and I was amazed at how long it took for him to fully recover - probably didnt run properly until July.

Over the last 2 weekends he has been trying out to win a spot to "practice" with the Rep Baseball Coaches over the winter. They dont pick the team until April but the coaches take about 15-16 kids and practice with them from January to April - this gives the kids a real lead on other kids to make the team as they have practices for a few months AND the coaches have got to know them!

60 kids tried out the first 2 tryouts and then we were told that only 24 woudl be invited back for the final try out

YEAH - Spencer got picked to come back last Sunday for the final tryout. He had a good try out but he was the slowest runner. We were told that they would narrow it down to the 16 kids and that they would call over the next night or two.

Sunday ngiht - no call

Monday night - no call

Tuesday night - no call

Wednesday - Mommy is getting irritated so she calls the coach and leaves a message.

2 hours later - YEAH! Spencer has been chosen to practice with the team. So no guarantee he will make the REP team but at least he is one step closer to his dream!!! We are all so excited for him!

Thanks for letting me share

I gotta see that!

Thanks Steve I tried messing with the settings you mentioned last night, I will try it again when I get home this evening. I am having the problem on all large threads. But not small ones.

Regards-

Rats! It's very interesting that it is doing that with all large threads. If I come up with anyother suggestions I'll let you know.

that's a good Idea, to get the bottled water at Key West. Once onboard, I'll ask Laura if she'll be able to stand the ships water and if not I'll get some there.

Just got back from Wal-Mart, buying various cruise-related odds and ends. I thought maybe about $100. No... $200 lighter, I exit the store.

You are correct, but you can have French sparkling wine that isn't champagne.

Victoria, I did not know this.
Interesting. Are there any really good ones that are priced not too high that I could try?

I don't why they call Walmart cheap. Only place I can think of that you can go in for TP and on the way out you are $100 lighter. You would think the stuff is gold plated:scared1:

Hey Steve-

Just got home and thought I would adjust the settings one more time and give it a try and here I am. Working again from home. Thanks for your suggestions.

Jeff, waxing?
Sounds owwie to me. Have you ever had anything waxed? Or has Suz.
I want to know how bad it hurts.

Will they let us on the ship with a case of water in Key West?
I all for skipping the water schlep...

Thanks-

Boy, I heard that! I was pretty excited about some of my finds though. Got a new shirt for $5, My daughter picked out a hat for the cruise that looks just darling on her for $1. Laura got a cheapie curtain for using in the cabin while she changes. (DIS suggestion) I built a pretty respectable first-aid kit/pharmacy for emergencies. (Always, I think like a nurse)

SWEET! I am so glad it worked!

Oh and one of the best things I got today was a carry-on/backpack, that will carry a ton of stuff! (Including my laptop, I'm going to try to sequence some christmas lights during downtime on the airplane and maybe a bit on the ship) I was clearanced for $25. I couldn't beat it.

For me its Costco, I can't bear the crowds at Wal Mart. DW does that shopping for us. Don't know if you have Kohls out your way, but whole family went out last weekend and hauled in a new cruise wardrobe for very little cash. I got 5 pairs of name brand shorts- $26. total! Polo shirts for 14. BTW I don't work there just like a bargain. :) ;)

Anyone dressing like a pirate for that night?

Day Backpack! Just added it to the list- almost forgot. I have one but almost always forget to bring on non-camping trips!

Thanks

Anyone see this in today's Pass Porter newsletter?

Disney Cruise Line passengers can now pre-pay gratuities for their stateroom host/hostess and dining room staff up to three days prior to sailing. Cruisers are still free to charge gratuities on board or pay cash. The option gives cruisers a chance to skip the long lines at Guest Services at the end of the cruise.

Kohl's is my store!! :thumbsup2

Can you believe this... Yesterday we got a kohl's add in the mail. When I got home from work, Mike said "We got a kohl's add with a 30% off coupon on it. If you want anything, you'd better go shopping" :woohoo: :woohoo:

Ok ladies... how many times do we hear that from our spouses. :lmao:

Guess where I'm going tomorrow?

Me - no.

Suz - yes.

She fine with it. One trick that makes it "pull" easier I guess is to shower right before you go. I know that with me and shaving, if I shower first, the hair stands up better and I get a better shave. Must be the same effect.

She use to do her legs, but now just uses a razor. Not sure if she is waxing this time or not. She didn't in January. Not sure what she did.

The other option is just don't wear skimpy swim suits. Hey wait, what I guy wants that?! Forget that last part.

Not sure about at the ports of call. I've read they don't mind byob at Port Canaveral, but not sure about KW.

Might be a good post for the main board.

Don't understand that one. They have a curtain that divides the room as well as curtains over the window. Where are you putting an additional curtain?
