I just got a call from Janice and they are in the Madison area coming back from the Meet. I would expect others to be on and chatting....any time now.

Yes Bob was stationed there also and also around the same time frame mid-80's.
I think that he finished up after his 4 years and then went to work for a few other places, met his ex-wife, married, had a daughter and then things didn't go well and he moved back here in the late 90's.
His daughter, who is 15 now, is still living there with her mother.
He doesn't get to see her often enough but is trying to plan to go in a few weeks..... just before we cruise.

Boy, Bob and Dave will surely have stuff to talk about.
What are the chances that they knew each other?

That would be pretty wild if they ended up knowing eachother! Dave's whole Germany era was B.A. (Before Abby) so I don't know much about it. I think at that time I was in grade school or middle school.

Evening everyone!

Just finished up dinner. (Whew - I'm full!) I have a few minutes before the girls' bath time. Thought I'd pop in for a few minutes.


Karen - I totally believe in wearing something twice. Especially for as long as you're planning on being away. No way you'd have enough room in your suitcases to plan on wearing something only once! Besides, who cares what others think! We won't talk much about you!

My puppy's surgery is tomorrow. Sigh! Hope all goes OK. To top it off, she's been seriously licking her paw the last few days. I took a good look at this morning. One of her nailbeds is totally inflamed. Not sure if it's because of the tumor, or something totally unrelated. Like she stubbed it or something. We're hoping she just stubbed it.

Oh, I forgot to mention that we called Disney Dining today and made a ressie for Tutto Italia the eve of 10/27. Anyone seen the menus on All Ears? A bit pricey that's for sure! Sad to see that there's no fettucine alfredo on there. Us girls really love our fettucine!

Sounds great!! Dave was stationed in Germany for 4 years (I think that was around the mid-80's). When Bob lived in Germany did he do contract work for the military or was he completely done with any military connections? When I was pregnant with our first, we had considered moving to Germany so Dave could be a military contractor.

Hey whats up konked kruisers, I was stationed in Coleman barracks with a shinook unit in sandhofen germany from 8/21/1985 thru 8/21/1989 then i lived their until april 1997 and now i'm going on a cruse with you fine folks( GREAT TO BE BACK IN THE STATES WHERE WOMEN SHAVE THEIR LEGS AND PITS )

Chuck and I had a great time at the WISDISmeet this afternoon. We met Judy and her kids and Jen's family for the first time. Victoria, Curt and the kids, with Cheryl's family, Jeff's family and Janice with the kids were all there too. The only Wisconsinites who weren't there were Team Fun Pants and the ST Cruisers (slackers!!)

It looked like the kids all had a good time but I noticed that we needed a little girl for Janice and Marks little MacKenzie.

The kids played games and the adults watched the Packers win and talked a little. (Ahem...ok, ok ...a lot!!)

We're all pumped for this cruise now and Chuck and I are looking forward to spending time with our new friends from all over the world.

Hi Bandana Bob! Looking forward to meeting you! I just asked my husband for sure his Germany info. He was only there 2 years (army) (not 4 like I originally posted) stationed in Stuttgart (and another that I can't spell) from 1987 to 1989. He said both bases he was at are now closed. He spent his other 2 active years at Ft. Riley Kansas then spent 9 years reserve at Rickenbacker AFB. He got to do quite a few of his AT's back in Germany.

So you wouldn't object to a woman shaving her legs on the front porch of her house? (as long as she shaves?!)
