Hi Missy!! I am having trouble printing out Renee's Mickey and Minnie Iron on. I'm going to email it to you and see if you can resize it.:thumbsup2

I just printed out that last door sign for you Missy.:cutie:

So, I think this question has been asked of everyone back a few months, but how did everyone meet there significant other?

Suz and I worked together. That's how we met.

I don't know if Mike told you this. I haven't had a chance to catch up. It's kind of a long story.

I was in a Baton, Drum & Bugle Corp, "Mohawks". We traveled all over the country. Mike's sister Sharon had just joined. I was 17. We were in Chicago marching a parade in 98 degree weather.

Mike's Mom (Judy... We call her big Jude, Not because she's big... She's actually very tiny.) Anyway, she was chaperoning. A lot of the kids were very dehydrated following the parade. I was fine, so I helped her carry water and salt tablets to everyone.

She went home and told Mikes brother Danny (Who was also 17) about me. "I met the perfect girl for you." The following Monday, at Corp practice, Judy approached me and asked if her son, Danny, could call me. I said, "I don't care." She took my number. I never got a call. I didn't really care... it's not like I was waiting by the phone.

Months went by and my number sat in the sugar bowl on the counter. During that time Mike and Danny were driving Sharon to practice every Monday. They would stay and watch. Finally, Mike told Danny if you're not going to call her, I will. Danny said, "Go ahead".

I think it took Mike another month or so to get the courage to call. He kept coming to practice and watching me practice. In the mean time, Judy was trying to encourage Mike to call.

That's where "the line" came in.

"She has big B**bs". AAAHHHHH!!! He called. ;)

O.K. I'm done now. Sorry to bore you with all my pics.

I have some from two other Magic trips (1 eastern and 1 western) I can post at another time.

I did come across one cool pick of DS on the Wonder that I'll see if Suz will let me post. It is a great action shot.

Not boring at all Jeff. I'm enjoying them. Great pics. :thumbsup2

I come to you with a heavy heart.

Remember the motorcycle accident I told you about last week? It was our Godson. His mom called us tonight to tell us what happened. When I realized it was the accident that Chuck and I saw, I thought I was going to throw up.

He has massive brain injuries and is in a coma. He also has a broken hand, a broken shoulder, a fractured spine, a ruptured spleen, a puntured lung and numerous other internal injuries. He has had 3 surgeries already.

I had such a bad feeling in the pit of my stomach for the last week. I wanted to call the police dept to see if they could tell me how the young man was. I just couldn't get it out of my mind. Now I know why.

There was so much blood on his face the night of the accident that I didnt even recognize my own Godchild.

Please pray for Spencer. He is only 19 years old.

Thank you everyone.

Man critically injured in motorcycle crash
A 19-year-old Milwaukee man remains in critical condition with severe head trauma and other injuries at Froedtert Hospital in Wauwatosa after a motorcycle he had for just two months collided with a truck last week on North Avenue.

According to police:

The 41-year-old Wauwatosa man driving the truck had just left a meeting at his nearby church at about 8:15 p.m. Sept. 6. He was making a left hand turn from westbound North Avenue, south onto 122nd Street to visit his mother when he looked out of his passenger window and saw a motorcycle heading for his truck in the oncoming lane. He saw the motorcycle "fishtail" as it neared his truck and then saw the driver lay the motorcycle down on the pavement. He momentarily lost sight of the cycle and then heard a crash as it hit his truck.

The truck driver immediately pulled off the road and onto 122nd Street, ran to the motorcycle and saw the driver was seriously injured. He called 911 to report the accident. One witness told police she saw the motorcycle traveling on North Avenue and that the truck pulled out in front of the cyclist.

Wauwatosa Fire Department rescue personnel responded and had to pull the motorcycle off the 19-year-old to begin treatment. He was unresponsive but had a pulse. He was not wearing a helmet.

The motorcyclist was taken to the trauma unit at Froedtert, where doctors found he had massive head injuries, punctured lungs, a broken collar bone, a fractured neck bone and broken ribs, according to the police report.
His long-term condition will not be known for several days.

Police do not suspect alcohol was a factor, although blood was drawn from both drivers.

It may be another week before the toxicology reports are returned to the police department.

The 41-year-old was arrested on site for negligent use of a vehicle causing injury, according to the report, and police were expected to review the matter with the district attorney's office this week to determine if any charges will be issued.

Lori......If you are still awake, Renee's transfers are printed and I will bring them to work in the A.M.......see ya then!:thumbsup2

Oh Nancy, how terrible for all of you. With two young boys of my own this is the one thing that I fear the most as they grow older......even have nightmares about....auto or motorcycle accidents. I do hope that this story has a happy ending.....we will be thinking of you.

Yeah, Cass is probably too young to remember the size of the tv's in the '70's.

Tiny screen but HUGE box to hold everything. Much too small for a tv.

One of you must have been pretty rich though Nancy. A microwave in the '70's? I don't think we got our first one until in the '80's.

My Dad worked at Westinghouse and so we got a microwave the first year or so that they were out - probably early 1970s - everyone thought it was so cool but it meant I learned to cook with a microwave. When I went off the univerisity I didnt know how to do certain things without one - things like warming up spaghetti. I remember calling my Mom when i was 20 years old asking her how to warm up food as our student housing didnt have a Micro.

Huge check run for the end of the week. I'm posting between every few invoices. I'm off the next couple of days.

DS's school is closed tomorrow and Friday because of an issue with the well - ecoli or something.

The stupid thing is that they knew of the water problem before school started - the kids were told the first day not to drink the water and they brought water in for the kids.

So not only did they not fix it before school started, they didn't do it the Th and Fr before Labor Day since they already had that Friday off - only one day missed then.

To top it off, I don't see why they can't go over to the church and just have the classes there. They have rooms on the lower level and they are on a different well.

Just doesn't make sense to me.

Because this way the teachers get 2 more days off....in canada the teachers have such a strong union that they get so many days off already and they are always fighting for more. School started the Tuesday after labour day - they have 4 PD (professional development) days off teaching by the end of november (3 months) - rediculous in my opinion!

One for Rob

We ALWAYS have to eat there! It's one of our fave places!! We will be having our anniversary dinner there on the 17th :woohoo: You'd think we would want something like California Grill or Yachtsmens huh?? Nope! Not us, we like our burgers and fries and Rob like the ice cream there of course :upsidedow

Time for chicken tenders
124143chicken_tender_time-med.jpg

Holy freaking beer?? IS that a beer Rick is holding?? Gotta love them chicken strips!!

Usually for a snack between lunch and dinner I have some yogurt or fruit. I think on the cruise my snack between meals will be chicken tenders and fries :lmao:

Right.....here's the link to the Alaska video. Unfortunately, so that every one can view it, Rick has had to compress the file quite a lot, so it does break up in a couple of places.

Enjoy:

Off to check it out now!

we have been wanting to do that!! it looks like soooo much fun.
i know rob and cass did it.
maybe we will get the chance in feb.

We thought of doing it again this trip, it was SO much fun. Nixed the idea at the last minute though.

That last one is the best--I will definitely try to get a shot like that with my tiny guy!!

I agree with Victoria, that shot of him in his undies in front of the porthole is PRICELESS!!!

This has been my wallpaper for about 4 years now. It was taken by Dave, too bad his website isn't up any more :sad1: I even took my own version of this shot last time but I still used his as my wallpaper

I was holding DS and jumping waves with him. This one came in (must have been about 6' when it broke) and I missed judged it. It was the scariest time of my life. The rush knocked my glasses off and DS out of my arms. Luckily DS fell to down to where my feet were so I felt him. The back current was extremely strong with that wave. If he didn't hit my leg, I don't know where I'd find him. Never found the glasses, but that was the least of my worries.

OMG, that is scary!! I think of stuff like that and my heart drops, I can't imagine actually going through something like that :sad2:

That's it for me! See you all on Monday. (maybe tonight, you know I can't stay away).:)

Have a great time Nancy!!!

There is also a Pirate Museum in Nassau:

Hey, that's Dread Pirate Robert's ship!!!! :lmao:

Sorry, one last pic. Suz gave me o.k. to post this one.

Here is DS jumping into the Mickey Pool:

That's an AWESOME pic! And I agree, great intro to our thread ::yes::
He looks like he's having a blast!!

Thanks Cass, I think I might watch Private Practice,
and Lost, for sure!

Hey I rented Vacancy last night on your recommendation...
 :scared1:
Yikes, I didn't expect that! I was really scared!
Curled up in a ball on the couch aside from Bob, he kept saying....
"Do you want to sit next to me?".....
Me, no, I'm too scared to move:scared1:
"Do you want me to turn it off?".....
Me, no, hate it, totally on the edge of my seat scared...but no, leave it on.

Gosh, if I watched it alone, was home alone, no way, I would have turned it off and checked every corner of my house top to bottom and then put every light on in the house before I could even TRY to go to sleep!

Wasn't it great!! In a totally scary kind of way! I told you it was scary ::yes::
I watched it all alone in the dark :scared1: But I love being scared :thumbsup2 I remember watching really scary movies when I was 8 or 9...like Exorcist (the only movie that ever really creeped me out and I refuse to watch alone!) and Amityville Horror and Salem's Lot and I used to watch them in the hall with my back against the basement door (it was a creepy basement!) and then when I went to bed I would literally jump and fly into bed so that no one under my bed could get me

For any who may be interested, I have finished painting my Gravestones. They look Great! You'll find them at my website below.

Those are WAY cool! They turned out really great! How talented are you!!!! I wish I was handy with stuff like that! My house would probably look like the Haunted Mansion. :upsidedow Well, it would be REALLY cool for ONE day of the year anyway :lmao:
