Teddy and I just got back from a really fun Harry Potter party. We have this old seminary in town with lots of old (as least for us Americans ) buildings right on Lake Michigan. They had all of them decorated with actors running around in costumes as Hogwarts staff. We attended Potions class and Spellbooks class. We played Muggle Quidditch, won a HP trivia contest, and made a golden snitch and a mirror of Erised. Can't believe our little town put it all together. Plus the weather cooperated--low seventies with no humidity.
Great fun!!

Thanks Cass for the info, I will try and book online, if I can't then I will try and do this first thing on the boat. Its not a major thing, but we would like to experience Palo, we didnt have time last cruise.

Yes, absolutely try Palo! We didn't do it our first cruise but did both the brunch and dinner on our second cruise. We won't get a chance to do it this time as we want to stay with Rob's family. The filet was the best beef I found on the whole cruise!

Ok so I have done some research now that I can stay on the computer for a little while. The weather kicked me off last nigh right after I posted. I see the the temps on the cruise are the same as the temps at home in Oct. So I guess the next question to ask is. How cold is it inside the ship? Do you think the kids are going to need jeans inside at night. Or is it more appropriate for the kids to be wearing jeans instead of shorts after the dinner hour.

I know on past cruises after dinner they perfer no shorts, but that has not been disney.

I don't pack any jeans for the kids on the cruise. After dinner they go to the show and just wear what they had on for dinner. After that if we go out and take the kids to the club i just put them back in their shorts or dress that they had on for like 20 mins total for the day. My kids live in their bathing suits!!!!!

Ok, I was really miffed that one of my fave rides, Spaceship Earth will be closed in October, now I am even more miffed...Big Thunder will be closed 10/1 - 10/24

It crashed again yestrerday . I KICKED IT HARD THIS MORNING BUT IT DIDNT HELP. Neil has just got it going for me but god knows how long for. He's found a button that says "repair" - he clicked it and hey presto! - it worked. I'm going to like tht button if it works for me too!

Lindy, its been raining here really heavily allllll day . Got soggy about 8 times so far during the day just running from car to gym etc, and yet yesterday we had glorious sunshine - I was in the out door pool and sunbathing - this freaky weather is just awful. Did E break up from school today? I hope the 6 weeks hol has better weather or it will be hard to occupy them indoors every day

Ellis got a star award at his new school today - "for settling in at his new school and making friends" - dont you just love teachers for doing things like that - he was soooo chuffed.

I PAID FOR THE CRUISE IN FULL!!!!!

Well here in the Uk, we would pack all shorts !!! as its hot for us, in almost any weather in florida! Its pouring with rain, so bad today,we have had flood warnings!!!! yes, it is our SUMMER !????

I actually wore my winter coat to school today to fetch Ellis and a huge golfing umbrella. Its a 2 minute walk and I was soaked when I got there. My trousers were soaked from the knees down - dont ya just luv the british weather

Any idea on what number I have to dial??? - I have the pack somewhere but I guess I havent unpacked the box its in

Will they understand me?
Will they think I'm australian?
Will I get on the early pirate cruise?
Will it ever stop raining here?
Will I ever be thin again?...............erm.......I already know the answer to this one
Will I survive the 6 weeks school holidays without killing my son?.........highly unlikely ......... I joined him at our gym for 3 months today.....maybe that will keep him occupied ....I'll try anything ....the trouble is we enjoy baking together........I bought 6 boxes of cookie dough today - god they smell soooooo good its almost impossible not to steal a warm cookie whilst no-one is looking

I AM doing well this week though - not weighed myself but I think I might have lost a pound. - not a lot but a huge miracle for me

ok, I'm babbling now....I'm off to check my emails before this stupid pc decides to stop again.

It's in Scotland sir where they wear coats 24/7 365 days a year normally so maybe the global warming is getting up there after all....Ever seen a Jock with a sun tan?...i think not....
