DH and I are not seeing eye to eye on this one so he wants me to ask all of your if you know. If it is a port day and the older kids do not want to go to port with us can they be left in the kids programs and we go to port?
I see pros and cons to both sides of this, so I figured I would humor him and ask.

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I hate dail up. The pages are taking forever to load and for some reason I can not sign into my account. So everything I am wanting to save won't save.![]()

12 or older, I would probably leave them in the club. The younger one I would not.
Suz probably wouldn't leave DS on the ship without us even if he's 17.![]()
You really need to look into DSL. It is probably only $10 more than your dial up is anyways.
If I remember correctly, you were going to look into a faster internet after the cruise. You're only 3+ months short of the cruise. For the $40 and all the planning you will want to do ahead of the cruise, I'd take the plunge now. Especially before online ressies open up for you.

Our youngest, Mackenzie will be by our side anytime we go off ship, but we are starting to see that the older 2 want nothing to do with us, or being around us, so we are not sure if they will want to get off at the port and if they don't want to get off and we make them they will make our time misserable. So we are trying to feel out our options now. Trying to make this trip as stress free as possible but I am starting to see I am not going to make everyone happy all of the time.
If you give them "sign out" privelages on the ship, make sure you suspend them while you are off the ship.
You don't want to have them sign themselves out while you're not around.
Not sure if they could then get off the ship or not.
DSL is not available for our area. So we are stuck with cable, with a cable provider that I do not like. We have our cable through them and their customer service is horrible, and they have raised our price 4 times in six months. If we go with cable I have to have a line ran to this room, they have not come out to look but based off what we told them they quated us anywhere from $70 to $180 to install it, then there is a the cable modem for $60, and the actuall lowest cable internet they offer is $50 a month. So for our cable tv and then cable internet it would be $105 a month. We have basic cable tv at that. Right now for dail up and cable tv we are only paying $65 a month. We still have not paid off our cruise so we are finding it difficult to have them come install and buy the modem. But I am so frusterated because I have been on since 9:00 and have not accomplished anything.![]()
Thanks I did not know you could suspend that privilage. I will make sure we do that. I did read somewhere that anyone under the age of 18 is not allowed off the ship without an adult.
If we book parasailing and it gets canceled due to weather we get our money refunded to our account correct.
Not sure who you have for dial up, but I always see these Net Zero ads that say that they have speeds up to 5x faster than standard dial up. All for $9.95. Not sure how their dial up is faster, but I think Earthlink offers something like that as well.
We originally did our cable internet through Earthlink. They were cheaper than the local provider and actually used the local providers service. The local provider billed us, but any service isssues went through Earthlink.
Go to Net Zero's site or call them and see what they can offer. If they can do it, 5x faster is better than the normal 56k that dial up has.
Just pulled up NetZeros home page and it looks like they also offer dsl. I will have to do some investigating. Thanks for the tip.
For DSL, you need to be within about 17,000 feet of the service point.
I would look around at all providers in your area to see if someone is close to you.

Looks like what I have is netzero Platinum which is $9.95 a month and that is just normal dail up with no adds, I could go to Net Zero High speed for $14.95 a month which is 5 times faster then a 28.8k modem, so now I am confussed because I have a 56k modem. SO is it only going to be 2 times faster then what I have now.
huh? What providers are we talking about, phone providers? if so we only have one and they say DSL is not available.
