DH scott here, Man killed another one...OK I will ask this before I go get DD's school schedule for JR high. What is your favorite Disney Movie?

Mine is "Remember the Titians"

The Lion King:)

Hi there,

I'd just like to pop in and say hi...I'm a first time cruiser who'll be sailing on the Magic for the Oct. 20th Western Cruise.

I'll admit I haven't read this whole thread yet, so I hope I'm not just barging in. I just can't wait to cruise!

Jen

1st time cruiser sailing the Magic, Oct. 20 '07!

:welcome: Welcome to the Konked Kruisers Jen!!:welcome:

another random thought. at the dis meet we probably shouldnt use the term vd girls when talking to lori and missy. that phrase may clear the area of bystanders real fast for anyone not in on the joke.:scared1:

Makes more room for the DISmeet Mike.:thumbsup2

Pass the Deodorant, Nancy.

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Hey there...thanks for the warm welcome!

My name's Jen (yes, last name Miller) and I live in Wisconsin. This is going to be my first cruise EVER, and I'll be sailing with DH and my 4 year old son in one cabin, and in an adjoining cabin will be my mom and a friend. I'm also an obsessive planner - I have been reading on this board since October of last year! So, while we're all chatting....see if I've missed anything in my planning so far:

Cruise - booked and paid in full (yeay!)
Airplane tickets - purchased (flying in on the 19th)
Hotel booked - near the airport with a free shuttle and breakfast
Ground transportation - working on (not happy that they just automatically add 20% tip - is that normal?):confused3
Gift baskets - ordered from Shirley!
Excursions - I can book on August 6, so far I'm planning to do the Pirate excursion in Grand Cayman - my DS loves ANYTHING pirate, and he's going to flip over Pirate night!pirate:

Be patient with me...I may be asking a few questions over the next few weeks...but glad to meet you!

Jen

Adding this post to my list of things to watch when RoadRunner gets here next week Friday.:yay:

That is TOO cute!! Too bad he's not coming on the cruise...well maybe that's a good thing...might have to fight him off my daughter :lmao:

I sure don't want to have to compete with a 2 year old boy. I'd lose for sure. :sad2:

Hello everyone! We're back from camping... what an experience that was!!

It rained for two DAYS and not just rained, thunderstormed! By Saturday we were sick of it and packed up early and headed to his parents house rofl!

I think we're going to try again later this summer during a time it's not so sopping wet outside!

I'm going to try my best to play catch up tonight but I won't make any guarantees since I've been gone since Thursday ;)

ask away there is always someone that knows the answer on here. Your DS and our DD should be in the same age range for the kids clubs.

well i guess id better go find something to eat. i have to leave for work in 2 hrs. i work 12 hrs again tonite. its 90 here now so it will be at least 110 in the tire factory where i work.(yes im a peon):sad2:

a tire factory. Are we talking about a place that sells tires or a place that actually makes them. For some reason I have never put thought into tires being made. Sounds like it might be interesting.

Judy,

How was your party at the zoo on Friday night? I saw the tents going up when I picked DS up from Zoo Camp.

Is Kaitie going to any type of specialty camp, or just camp in general?

As for Cozumel. If you don't mind "winging" it, there are several vendors on the pier in Cozumel. You can also cross the street and find some in store fronts. If you book online, I would recommend that you go with one that will not charge you (or that will refund you in the case of prepayment) if the boat doesn't make it there. If they do that, that is at least one sign they may be reputable.
Zoo was okay, we love seeing all the animals but the food this year left something to be desired. They burnt the hamburgers and the hot dogs and this was catered so there is no excuse for bad food. My kids love the free ice cream bars and we love the free beer so you can't go wrong.

Kaitie goes to Camp Alice Chester in East Troy, WI. This is a Girl Scout Camp and she loves it. This is her fourth year of going and she is also on the GS Youth Leadership Committee, they design the WI girl Scout programs, and the Camper Council, they design the camps. We are hoping that she will start her training to be a councilor next summer. the best thing, other than having a moody child out of the house for a while, is that the camp is boy free.

Judy

We had some light rain tonight. I love the storms. We need as much rain as possible. Of course I perfer to have the storms when DH is home then when he is at work.

The battery in my van died tonight so we had to spend some of our time going and getting a new battery and replacing it.

I was reading on another post that someone had read that one of the bars on the ship offer tropical drinks by the picture. Is this true?

I am so glad you posted this. I have felt this one from day one. I have an 11 year old and 12 year old and I think it is horrible that we have to pay adult prices for them. So with that I decided that anything they did would have to be cheap. I have been on several cruises before and I have not found and excursion yet that has been worth the money the cruise lines charge for them. I must have high expectations. I can not get by DH or older kids to make any decisions either. In Key West we are just doing our own thing. But then I decided that DH and older kids could do snorkeling in CK. I will not snorkel after getting stung by a jelly fish the last time I went. So I thought while he did that I could take the youngest on a glass bottom boat so she could see the fishies. But know oldest DD does not want to snorkel. So I have given up. I am looking at taking the youngest in the sub and grand cayman. It is cheaper through the company instead of DCL. The company actually offers 3 different prices instead of just 2.

Thanks for supporting me--I am going to look into using the company too! :)

I am closterphobic (sp) and I am forcing myself to go on the actual all the way under sub. I figure if my DD can not snorkel then this is the next best thing for her.

You are so very brave!! :scared: I figured the same thing for my five year old, but I think the semi-sub will be good enough! :scared1:

Yes Jeff you are right. We are supposed to be August 6th, but since they are opening the night before it would be Sunday night.

O.K. So Sunday night is my date with the computer--is that correct? Gosh, what a spaz I would be on Saturday night getting all frustrated that I couldn't book anything! :confused3

Beautiful home Karen! I am trying to keep up with reading all the posts, but I am failing miserably. When I read someone else's post thanking you for posting pics, I started scrolling back until I found them, and I am so glad I did! You must be so happy to be all moved in and not worrying about it anymore. Is that Ellis' school in the background of the pic of your backyard?

Thanks for supporting me--I am going to look into using the company too! :)

I have not contacted the company yet to see what would happen if the ship does not make it to port. I am wondering if they charge us ahead of time and then refund or if they wait to charge until we get there.

:darth:
your dj voice huh? you have 2 voices also. i always tell robin she has her regular voice and her realtor voice (when she sounds all professional)
rob, maybe you could use your dj voice at the dis meet. we can get you a mr. microphone.
Yeah, I have my DJ voice where I annunciate everything and its like I'm on the radio (or something); the guys get a kick out of it b/c it doesn't even sound like me and its usually when I start clubbing on the CD decks.
BTW: I wouldn't be caught DEAD with a Mr Microphone, besides, I know where the XLR plugs are to use the REAL thing on the ship, like by the pool :yoda:

Howdy from the Great White North!
Looking forward to meeting ya on the cruise! As my wife mentioned, feel free to skip the first 1100 pages.

Um, yeah... stay away from that term b/c if I didn't know better, I was thinking the same thing too and just shook my head thinking that can't be it, they're talking about something else.

DH scott here, Debbie does Disney? or Cinnamon does Castaway Cay?

Ok Scott, you got me...
