Very good Nancy so glad to hear that everything went well. Now you can have some piece of mind. :cool1:  pixiedust: :jumping1: :mickeyjum

Ok, must go back to work....
cutting boards for my deck that I hadn't finished 2 years ago!

Me and a miter saw! Cool stuff!

Hi Jerk/John

Its not clicky or secret at all. We're just a bunch of friendly and supportive people who have been chatting for months now and got to know each other well. This thread is not just about Disney cruising, its about people who have real lives, real ups and downs and who all happen to like Disney too.

Some joined fairly recently, others have been on here for months and chat regularly. I will be honest with you - I for one was quite offended and annoyed at your first post on this thread. I found your comments uncalled for, judgemental and unnecessary, and wished you had simply introduced yourself and your family then you may have received a warmer welcome.

Ok, I'm off my soap box now....bygones

welcome to the thread. :goodvibes

Karen.

Thank you so much. I agree 100%. I so wanted to say something about his first post but Scott asked that I don't on the aspect that I am still new to the group also. He did not want me to offend anyone.

I am very thankful for the group because we all support each other each and every day.
Thank you for speak you mind:thumbsup2

Karen, I totally see your point. I might have gotten the same vibe in your shoes. Truthfully, the DISboards is huge. The first day I must have had 12 windows open in my browser researching the DIS stuff trying to book a cruise at the same time and on top of that the customer service rep lost one of my cabins I had on hold and I was scrambling to book and keep from losing another, very stressful. I actually didn't catch the "MEET" in the thread. When I saw pages and pages of brief posts from the same user a minute or two apart it was easy to assume runaway thread.

I totally get the vibe being in the MEET thread now. Anyways, sorry if I offended you, definitely was not my intention. No need to take me to school, although I don't mind an occassional smack with the ruler. :headache:
I think it's great to experience relationships before sailing together. Having never sailed before I gotta believe it would make a huge vessel more cozy.

Well, almost a whole other page for me.......

some other time!
I am sorry this whole dial up thing really messes me up. You can not control when something actually posts. It could be immediate or take forever. You never know. Again sorry.

Grrrrr! Newbie here still learning and just now caught the importance of lime green. I will remember to wear a name tag that says "Jerkface" this will actually be the same as "kick me".

:guilty: -Jerk

Thank you John, apology warmly accepted and appreciated, ....I'll put my ruler away now:goodvibes

Once again, welcome.

Karen

thank you I will go check that out. So are we looking at just the adults doing shirts or the whole family? Are we all planning on wearing them on the same day or just whenever? :confused3

I plan on getting shirts for me, Rob and Kira :) Will be wearing them when we board the ship, (makes it easy for other KK's to find you) for the DIS meet and any other times I feel like being a KK :upsidedow

Cass - do you ever sleep???? How do you stay awake so long??? - whatever you're taking - please can I have some;) :rotfl:

Karen, LOL, I don't know what my problem is :rolleyes1 I can't sleep at night but if I try I think I could sleep all day. My best hours are from midnight to 3 am! I do nap when Kira takes her first nap. So I can cram 1-2 hours of sleep then, and it's my best sleep of the day! That's why I like cruises, I actually CAN sleep on a cruise! Wish I could live on one!

Cass, what's the logo for regarding shirts? Looks kind of "clicky" or like some "secret society", not much a secret though with a bright green logo. Not a fan of green but very nice work! Agreed flags are too close to the rest though.

-Jerk

Okay, I have been biting my tongue...but I can't anymore.

There is no secret society, no cliques. Just a lot of really great people who have been chatting for a very long time and really care for one another. Everyone is welcome to join the group. Usually, when someone new pops in here, they will post to say that they are joining in and they introduce themselves. And in EVERY case, they are welcomed by all with warm wishes and welcomes and when they tell us they've booked the cruise for sure then someone sends them a link to a private site on Yahoo that some of us made to share private stuff such as photos etc.(some people don't want EVERYONE to see their photos)

But no, not you, you came in here, insulted just about everybody, told us how we should be conducting ourselves and continue to insult us. Of course you're not going to get a warm welcome. I doubt that anyone sent you the link, I know I won't be. It is on that site that we have nicknamed the cruisers of 10/20/07 the "Konked Kruisers".

You are very new to the DIS and obviously don't understand what it's all about. It's about a place where people who love Disney can go, make friends and be part of a great community where they won't be judged or insulted. If you want to be an a$$, there are plenty of other online communities that you can join where you will feel more comfortable , but this isn't the one my friend.

Lime green just happens to be the official colour of the DIS, and I HATE green but since this thread is on the DIS ,adding a lime green mickey is an homage to the creator of the DIS, Pete Werner and it also can and has been easily picked out by the 80,000 or more members of the DIS while in WDW and on DCL.

A lot of us have been talking to each other for about a year now, so forgive us when we need to express our joy for a fellow KK'er who has recently been given an all clear from her cancer.

My first post was when I was 19 weeks pregnant and now I have a six-month old, most of these people have watched my daughter grow since her birth, so I feel very close to these guys and this thread will flourish well past 10/20/2007!

We have some KKers who can only pop in her every month or so (some even longer) due to their schedules or preferences and they are ALWAYS made to feel welcome. So you can post as much or as little as you like, just join right in. Sometimes the conversation goes places that has no interest to some, no big deal, you can change the conversation or just ignore. I know I have.

Feel free to come up with a design for the group, this is not a dictatorship, I just have some design knowledge and offered some free time since I don't sleep much. Anyone can come up with something and then we can all vote as a group on what the group likes best. Even if the majority votes for someone elses design, no big deal. I was just trying to help out as I know most people here are very busy with work, kids, hobbies etc.

Ok, off my soap box now. :rolleyes1

post 400 and I'm out!

Bye, chat with you all later

Sorry I missed you Scouter, I was waiting till you got your page to post, but then I got a little wordy :lmao: Hope things are going well for you!

NANCY, please dont encourage robin to tell our stories:rotfl2:
by the time we cruise ill be the laughing stock of the ship:lmao:
its ok, i can take it:thumbsup2

Oh, really?!
Guess you don't do any shopping...buy any drinks......put things on your
key to the world card tab......

I had a bit of a bill when I came home:rolleyes1

just strawberry smoothies for us. no alcohol.
cant put the parasailing on our world card cause they cancel it every cruise. try again in oct. third times a charm.

Okay, I will work on the logo tonight after elliptical, got some good feedback so maybe I will do a few versions and perhaps Jeff can post a poll on the KK board and see what we want. :rolleyes1

The reason I placed the flags all across like that was because I could only find a Conch Republic flag that was short like that, unlike the other 3 long ones, so they wouldn't balance very well if I place them another way, but if someone found a long one, needs to be at least 600 pixels in length, then I can change that. :)

Cass,

Once you have the design choices ready, I will create the poll. Not sure if I can include the pictures there (don't think so), so we'll have to reference them to the viewing area. Maybe put the designs up under "Links" or "Files".

As for the Flag design, what I was saying was do them like a window, 2 next to each other with the other 2 right below. Similar to this:

Flag 1 Flag 2

Flag 3 Flag 4

I was then thinking of smaller Mickey head above the flags with just "Konked Kruisers" in the head.

Put the date and maybe "sailing through the Caribbean" under the head but before the flags.

Just my thoughts.

I appreciate all you have done with this. The idea is great and I'm sure you will come up with a great design (not that the first one isn't).

Jeff

Thank you John, apology warmly accepted and appreciated, ....I'll put my ruler away now:goodvibes

Once again, welcome.

Karen

Hey don't go too far with that ruler  Nevermind I see Cass has with huge ruler, more like a yard stick :scared1: I see some stitches in my future.

Ok I have to admit that the I have not been to on board with the shirt thing, but DH was on board as soon as it was mentioned. Do we have an idea of cost with these because it is now growing on me that I saw the design. Only question is what happens if we don't hit the ports we are supposed to, do we still want the flags just in case?

I'm of the opinion that this is the cruise we booked. If it changes, then it does. I think the odds are better that we will be going on the Western than not. Plus, most late season Hurricanes develop off the coast of Africa and there for stay in the Eastern Caribbean or Atlantic Ocean. You do get some strays that will sneak in to the western Caribbean.

What would you do if you couldn't dock/tender at one of the ports? Grand Cayman is tender only and if the waves are choppy, you won't be allowed to tender. Same with Castaway. If it is too rough for them to navigate to the dock, you will miss that. You still did a Western, but didn't get all the ports. One year in January, a Western before one of our Easterns didn't make it to either Grand Cayman or Castaway.

The other problem you could run into is, what if, God forbid, Cancun/Cozumel get hit with another hurricane late in the season that sits over them for 3 days. We won't be going to Cozumel.

Guess what I'm saying is I'd go with the odds and the trip that we've all booked.

Maybe if someone is creative and quick, we could get an iron on transfer for when we board and ammend the shirts on the back. :thumbsup2
