Hi Paige! Are you still here? Are you prepping for the move? I loved the picture of you guys at Halloween!! We love costume parties!!!

Missy, I know you will be here soon. Lost is almost over. Not much to catch up on. I don't know where everyone is. I just keep talking to myself.:confused3

This is Robin....

The surgery went well. We were at University Hosp. at 8 AM. (90 min. drive) We left home right after Mike got home from work (midnight shift). Surgery took longer than expected. (Mike's Dad had a hard time (the emphyzema).
We got him a wheelchair.) We never did see her after surgery. His dad stayed at the hospital with his sister and we had to leave at 7:30 PM to come home because Mike had to go to work at 10 PM. He slept about 1 hour at the most on a couch. (I don't know how he does that.)

The next few days are going to be rather busy... driving Mike's dad to the hospital. (His sister has to work, so she can't help.) Just wanted to let you know how things were going.

Thanks to all of you for the well wishes. We're anxious for a week of relaxation on the ship.

Robin - glad everything went well.....please keep us posted! And take care of Mike too!!;)

Welcome to the group. You are a whole lot more dedicated them I am. I just join the group in the last month but there was no way I would go all they way back to the begining. Ok everyone I think she needs to move to the head of the class.;) :cheer2: Tell us all about you. How many kids, names, ages, where are you from, what are you looking forward to the most on the cruise? And anything else you would like to share. Not only is this thread a great place to learn neat things and tricks about the cruise but it also a great way for us all to get to know each other before meeting. That way we can form friendships not only for us but our kids. Hope to hear from you soon. :grouphug:

Karen

You poor thing being on the lookout duty. When I was about 6 years old or maybe 8 I swalled a quater. My mother was on lookout duty for 3 weeks before realizing that it never came out. Poor mom. To this day if they do an x-ray at the correct angle they can see it in there.

Thanks again for all the vacation wishes - you guys are great!

Robin, glad to hear that things are going as well as can be expected. Your family is in our thoughts.

FYI...there has been another Argie-Bargie update. The Steam Train Tour has been completed. Thanks for reading along.

Have a lovely holiday weekend! :goodvibes

I must ask. I have seen you discuss the "Argie-Bargie" Before. What is it? I think I missed that somewhere.:confused3

See all those links in my signature? Those are trip reports and reviews I've written on the DIS. The argie bargie refers to the trip report I'm still writing from our October 2006 visit to WDW.

I have some...fans...groupies...friends among the KKs here who have been following along and to make it easier on them I post a message here to let them know when there's been an update.

It's a long report because I love to hear myself type - but there are lots of pictures and funny stories and a lot of nice people who are keeping up with it. :goodvibes

Do you mind if I check them out? Are they all DIS related?

Feel free to look at anything you want - they're all DIS reports.

The first one is from a 7-night Eastern cruise we took in October 2005
The second one is some restaurant reviews from Universal
The third is a report on a weekend trip we took to Universal last May
The fourth one is my dining reviews from October 2006
and the the 5th one is the Argie-Bargie.

The other link is actually a pre-trip report for the visit we have planned beginning on Friday.

I like to write and this is the terrible result. :rotfl2:

Boy do I have a lot of reading ahead of me. I just went into the first one. This will give me something to do when the posts are down here. Thank you

I hope you enjoy them - I'll tell you this much, each one gets progressively better in the way it's written. The quality in the first one isn't as good as the more recent ones (no one probably cares about that but me). And, I was a total dummy until earlier this year and I didn't know how to post pictures. There is a slideshow in the cruise report, but pictures don't show up in my trippies until you get to the last two links for October 2006 and the one for May 2007.

Nancy may be the only person other than me who's read all of them...if she hasn't suffered permanent damage from it she can probably tell you which ones to read and which ones to skip.

Anyway...now that I've totally derailed the thread I must go to bed (hey, a rhyme!). Have a good evening! :goodvibes

Hey Abby - I hope our kids are going to be friends - your kids seem like mine from what I have read. Spencer will be 8 in August and Avery just turned 5. Avery is a dancer (Jazz and Ballet) and Spencer loves Baseball, Hockey etc. We have similar pictures of them together as they are quite close.

I will load up some pictures over the next few days

Jessalynn

Hi everyone! :flower3: I haven't been on in a while but wanted to pop in and say hi. We are in the midst of the end of school, baseball and dance recital so it's been crazy. I'm sure you all can relate to the craziness. I cannot wait for school to be OVER! June 11th for DS. DD was finished last Tuesday. I hope everyone is doing well. pixiedust: to anyone who needs it right now. Welcome to all the new recruits! :welcome:

I did read tidbits about some of you supporting eachother on getting in shape for this cruise. Count me in! About 3 weeks ago I completely cut out pop, coffee (loaded with creamer, which was my downfall), and most sweet stuff. Plus I started working out several times a week. So far lost about 10 pounds, which stuns me. I wasn't too concerned with losing weight, just getting toned. Now I need to focus on that! My goal is to look better than my sister on the cruise. :teeth:

Jessalyn-
I can't wait for these kids to all meet!! They are going to have a blast! I'll tell Hayden and Gwynne about Spencer and Avery. I've been trying to update them on all the kids who are cruising from this thread.

Take care everyone! Hopefully in 2 weeks I'll be able to join in more.

Hi Karen. I have been here just reading. So here's something to read. First and foremost, send something other than office supplies in Ellis' lunch box.
Have you done your dining reservations yet? If not, get to it!!!!! Where are you thinking of eating? How many rooms do you have packed now?
The neighborhood bear got into our neighbors trash twice this week!!:scared1: :scared1: I'm watching the kids very closely when they are outside.

Hi Lori,

Ellis is fine now...it scared him I think and he doesnt actually know if he actuially swallowed it:confused3 - he got half a day off school today so he's happy enough. I let Neil do the "checking" last night - a nice welcome home gift for Daddy:lmao:

Nope, still not booked an adr - its on my to do list, but its one of those that never gets done:rolleyes1

I have packed loads now. We are still able to live wuite normally - ie not out of boxes yet, but we think the moving date will be 8th or 15th June now due to a couple of solicitor hold ups so we need to knuckle down and pack a few more boxes.

Eek! - bear in your neighbours trash!:scared1: - oh my god :scared1: - I WOULDNT LEAVE THE HOUSE. Do you have to keep bear spray and stuff like that in the house? I saw on tv the other week a programme about them leaning on car windows to break them to get the food from inside. I love bears, but I wouldnt want to meet one close up whilst eating a hot dog:lmao:

found them two days later and boy were they ever shiney!!:lmao:

:lmao: :lmao:

The other day I was telling someone how cool this message board was and that I was going to get DS Teddy posting on here this summer so he could meet some other kids. I mentioned I was particularly interested in him meeting some of the British kids since I think it would be great for him to talk to someone in another country. The person agreed, but said, "Yeah, IF he can understand them!" This happened the same day you first mentioned that Americans always think you are Australian--I thought that was hilarious. Teddy is very polite and will try hard to understand Ellis, unlike my little Zachary who will just keep saying, "Huh?" :)

:rotfl: Ellis sometimes say that people talk "wierd" when we're in America - I usually say "No son, we 're the ones talking woerd...everyone else can understand each other:rotfl: " I'm sure we'll be ok..if not I'll bring a notepad and paper or we can play charades:lmao:

We are off on holiday Sunday for a week, to the Devon coast. So I wont post on much between now and then... got end of term disco, bikers breakfast, work and packing !!!:scared1:

Have a great trip:cool1:

Oh Karen!! I hope the little prince is okay! Please give him hugs and kisses from us (if he will let you!)

He's fine now

Still in my prayers...look after yoursleves as well as everyone else - its exhausting taking care of others - its easy to forget ourselves.

Just wanted to pop in once more before Jay and I leave for WDW on Friday morning. Have a terrific weekend and go ahead and out-do yourselves with the posting...make me catch up on a ridiculous and pointless number of pages. :rotfl2:

Happy hols Brenda and Jay:cool1:

Bless! It'll be nice and shiny if it ever comes out:lmao: :lmao:

THE PLEASURES OF BEING A MOM.....

Got a call off school today to come immediately to school ....Ellis had swallowed a paper clip:eek:

I now have the added bonus of checking for it to come out:rolleyes: - I might just give Neil that job:lmao:

Karen-

Have fun checking! :rotfl2: I hope he's OK. I had to take wooden skewers and check Gwynne's uh, deposits, for two weeks. She swallowed a magnetic ball last year. I never did find it but the x-rays didn't show it and she hasn't been having magnetized objects suddenly sticking to her so I assume it's long gone to the land of the sewer system. If a kid is going to swallow anything then a round object is most desirable. Let Ellis know this, OK? Not oddly shaped objects like paper clips! :lmao:

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT miss any of Brenda's TR's. Every single one of them is amazing. She has me laughing so hard at times that I'm crying. I have favorite quotes in each one of her TR's. It's come to the point that I barely read the main cruise thread anymore, just our's and B's TR's. BEST reading I have done in a long time (except for Tuesday's with Morrie...sorry B, it's my favorite book):rotfl2:

Be sure to read the comments from other DISers after her entries. They're hilarious!:rotfl:
