DH here Morning digrits, Hope I am not being to nosey (DW thinks I can be), but I noticed ya'll are origanlly from cajun country, but now from whereever USMC puts ya. I was wondering where from and where at now?
Thanks.

Rob and I are originally from a small town called Delcambre (pronounced DELL-KUM), 25 miles south of Lafayette, and 150 miles west of N.O.

Presently we are in Monterey, CA, but only until mid June (Rob is graduating from the Naval Postgraduate School June 15), when we will move to Quantico, VA. We are hoping to be there for 4 years, then retire. We'll be passing through AZ on June 17 and 18, so if you hear a crazy woman yelling at her kids and dog on I-10, that's me!!:scared1:

Just a warning...I will NEVER remember everyone's names on board! Heck, these days, I am lucky if I remember MY name! :rolleyes1 :headache:

DH here, And if none of that works. I will put on some cammies and when the boys come to the door they will refer to me as Colonel, sir of the 101 Airborn.
:woohoo:

You guys all talk BIG...you're all marshmallows when it comes to DD.;)
not long ago my DS was the same way, shy around girls, but approaching the end of 6th grade, things are starting to change. Your day will come.

Same here....especially remembering the spouses of everyone who posts! Now, I'll remember your husband's name..it's the same as my husband's!

DH here, Congrats to DW on her 200th post. This is for you!

:flower3: :flower3: :thumbsup2 :cheer2:

Thanks to all of our great friends on DIS for helping DW make this possible. Ya'll are really a great group.:thanks: :disrocks:

Boy will she kill me when she gets home from work

And I hope our UK friends are doing well today too. Not many posts from y'all this morning.........:confused3

Thanks 6th grade ends in a week and a half for DS. I have his summer planned while he is at our house to keep him busy. Playing catch in our park, restoring a neighbors 1929 model A truck (he just finished a '27 model T). And what ever else I can think of. Besides that he still needs to learn how to take showers for more than 1 minute. I am still trying to intoduce him to soap and deoderant.:confused3

Karen - how is little Ellis.......what does he think of the move?

He's doing great thanks...He's quite excited about the move. He's seen his new home and new school from the outside and he'll get a visit to his new class fairly soon. We're only moving 10 minutes drive away, so he'll still keep in touch with his old school buddies. He'll be nervous on his fist school day (so will I!), but he's good at chatting to people once he's over his initial shyness - we'll both have butterflies in our tummies that first morning:teacher:

No.....almost.........bummer!:sad1: I guess I'll have to get back to work now and try again for my first page another time..........:sad1: :sad1: But don't feel bad about messing it up for me or anything...:sad1: :sad1: :sad1: It's okay, really..........QUOTE]

Keep trying:thumbsup2

OK OK, you got me, I admit that the DD's have me wrapped around their pinkys. The youngest for sure. For some reason I do not understand the 12 1/2 DD (according to her). But 30 is a good age to start dating, right?

Thanks, now I will be on the spot, She does not like my cooking. Besides that for the past 7 years I owe her ALOT of dinners.;)

If you live in the city and have to pay for water, 1 minute showers aren't bad. My son does the 30 minute shower, but have maybe cut down to 15 now. Glad we live outside of town, so we don't pay for his standing and soakin'. Bryce plays ALOT of soccer, so deodorant is a regular, it took reminding at first but, now remembers on his own. A few stinky boys after gym class, that he has to sit by in the next class, might be a good reminder.

DH here, not to be to forward, But being in VA, and DISing in the mornings, and the shopping at lunch, and back at the DISing in the afternoon, Do ya'll have goverment jobs? JK:rotfl:

No, we don't work for the government........:rotfl2: :rotfl2:
We actually work for Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, Virginia. We are located half-way between Richmond (the capital of Virginia) and Washington, D.C. We work in the Radiation Oncology Department (cancer patients receiving radiation therapy treatments). We are both Dosimetrists. (WHAA???......  ) A Dosimetrist is the math and physics nerd that actual does computer programming to determine the best treatment plan option for a patient based on type of cancer, location, what vital organs might be in the path of the beam, etc...........Nothing important......thats why we can focus so much on the DIS.:scared1: :scared1: (just kidding...)

Wow! I had no idea that was done through computer programming...I guess it makes sense now that I think about it, but for some reason I thought the oncologists just knew all that stuff.

It actually sounds like a really interesting job. At least you're helping people in some way. I get really tired of finding ways to loan money to people who already have more money than spit. :lmao:

DH here,
Karen, I messed up on your reply (see 204). Thanks for the idea. I went 1 step further and went and cleaned the bathrooms (loos) instead.:cool1:

Thanks, He played soccer last season for the first time and took off with it, but his favorite is baseball. I am sure all it will take is a few girls to tell he stinks and it will change.
