Ms Brenda, are you feeling a little better today? :flower3:

ps...I didn't wish to use the "L" word because i have the same luck as a pot-less leaprecon married to a 35 stone Sofa smasher with a sex addiction....Please nobody mention the "L" and it may just happen for us on the 20th......:rolleyes1

I had to read it twice to understand it, but then I spit out my morning coffee I was laughing so hard!:lmao: :lmao:

Good afternoon Robin, about formal night is ANYONE ON HERE wearing formal?....:confused3

We're going formal. No tux for Rob, but he will be in his Mess Dress uniform--I can't resist a man in uniform!

We just came back from a late morning walk...after seeing the way I looked in most of our pictures from last week I now have added incentive to get in better shape and lose some weight. Yeccchhhh...the flab...:scared1:

And now I'm finishing the laundry and cleaning bathrooms and getting ready to wash the dishes and all the other junk that blissfully gets left behind for a week.

Poor Plankton...they wouldn't let him into V&A because he didn't have the appropriate attire. He was on his good behaviour until that happened...now he's just one angry vacation mascot. ;)

Have a good day! :goodvibes

I see a lot of people (myself included) worried or motivated rather to get in better shape or lose some pounds before trip. If anyone uses excel and wants to try a worksheet I created for this stuff I would be happy to email it. I am not sure if I can post it somewhere for download.

My wife and I go to Mexico every February and she wanted a guide on workouts, diet, colories and such to track her progress. She hates writing things on paper for tracking them cuz the kids always steal her pens and paper

It's about 6 pages and pretty well organized. Years of working out with my friend who is a doctor and fitness trainer helped in writing the formulas and code. Here is what it looks like (if your browser resizes your images - it's easier to see them if you download them or turn resize off)

Page -1 (asks basic info, height, age, weigth and such and desired weight loss) it spits out the calories you should be consuming and allows you to adjust whether you work out or not. Most of the work is done for you and it works for both men and women.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb186/jerkfaced/Page1.jpg

Page -2 Carries you into the second month moving all of your info and showing you your hopeful weigh-ins each week.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb186/jerkfaced/Page2-Month2.jpg

Page -3 Carries you into the final month (I wrote it for 90 days) and shows your final weigh in. Each of these pages allow you to adjust your workouts.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb186/jerkfaced/Page3-Month3.jpg

Page -4 Just a calorie summary, it takes the information from page 1 and tells you what calories you should consume to maintain your bdy weigth daily as well it tells you how many calories you should consume to hit your target or goal by day 90.
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb186/jerkfaced/Page4-calories.jpg

Page -5 The scary page, a place for you to check the things you ate during the entire day - merely change the quantity of items you eat and snacks and it tallies everything up, fiber, calories, fat, carbos and spits it in a total at bottom where you can compare it against the amounts that you should be consuming based on your own workouts and body type and lifestyle. Someday I will put chocolate cake on here, for now it has a lot of what I eat on it. I would be happy to add common items on this page though. I do have cheeseburgers and tacos and pizza in the naughty section :thumbsup2
http://i209.photobucket.com/albums/bb186/jerkfaced/Page5-diet.jpg

Page -6 The workouts page, just put a 1 for workout or zero for day off and it spits in some default values and tallies it up, if you have accurate numbers from your treadmill or such you can go back and manually enter those values. It keeps a running total and daily average for you regarding your calories, distance and time. This page is hard to read but actual page is much clearer.

Hope all that shows up correctly and again, happy to share it with anyone who can use it - it's a work in progress. Any suggestions would help a bunch too. I've yelled at the screen a bunch trying to get the formulas and code hashed out, everything seems to work great now. :badpc:

Hi friends! Hope all is well with y'all. We're great but very busy here. Pulling up stakes and moving across country is such a busy time, isn't it?

Karen--I wanted to answer your list of questions in more detail, but the cruise has taken a back seat to moving, Rob's graduation (graduating with distinction--I'm so proud, he's worked so hard!), and getting ready for his folks to arrive (luckily we get along and they are low maintenance).

This move is going to be challenging with my kids. The older they get, the harder the move is on them. The friendships they make are deeper than when they were younger. Emily has made some wonderful friends here who are "civilian" kids, so they have lived here their whole lives. When she makes friends with "military" kids, there is always that hope that we will be stationed with them again (which actualy does happen sometimes), but here she has the realization that she may never see these kids again. It's great that they have email and cell phones, but to a 14 yr old girl, I guess it seems like the world is at an end. Luckily, she is a wonderful, outgoing, very adaptable young lady, who already knows many of the kids at her new school ("military" kids who have been stationed with us before). My Derek who is 11 and going into middle school has that "middle school anxiety" that all kids have, so I can only do what every other parent does--try no to lose it or smother him with my overbearing motherly self. My older two also have that "will Dad go to the war" anxiety, as well, although they try to hide it. Alex who is 7 1/2, is thrilled because his best friend is waiting for him in our new area.

Sorry for the novel, but I had a few minutes before cleaning my house. Rob has taken them to see the A's game today, and we have Emily's friend and her parents coming to dinner tomorrow night, so I am taking this opportunity to clean, er, DIS............:rolleyes1

As for prezzies, as Karen calls them, I'm getting mine in New Orleans this summer! Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!!!

No play mates:confused3 and Jeff?....He's neither asked for or been granted parole to my knowledge, did heather go for two weeks or three.....:rolleyes1

Yes but Paige think of all them shiny medals we'd have missed out on but it not for the bush family....:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

We've been lucky this go around. He hasn't had to go to the war this time around, so no medals (I think) thanks to this Mr. Bush. He missed a war deployment by 2 weeks in our last duty station. (I was glad...) He has plenty thanks to the first Mr. Bush, though. Like I've said before, we've lost one of our best friends to this war, and I am selfish. I do not want my kids to go through what his kids are going through. I think I have had too much coffee.....

On a lighter note, Chris, is your family early or late dinner seating? We're tablemates with Linda and family and Sean (medical man) and family. too lazy to go check it out on yahoo site.....

Has anyone been to WDW in August? How are the crowds? the heat and the hurricanes don't bother us........(did I just type that?)

...oohh look at the time! Gotta go! Bye everyone! SOPRANOS TONIGHT!!! Big Love and Kyle XY next Monday! I HAVE NO LIFE!!!

Oh, it makes you want to wrap them in bubble wrap and protect them forever:hug: They sound like great kids - I hope they'll adapt quickly.

Any photos of Robs graduation?

Prezzies:banana: - dont understand Laissez, the good something something:confused3 - I'm so great at french arent I;) :lmao:

Paige, it's been about 10 years since we hit WDW in August and I just have to say based on those two visits (1996 and 1997) Jay and I have vowed never to do it again at that time of year.

Granted, those visits were prior to the FastPass system implementation, but it was miserably hot and humid and the parks were packed.

I would venture to guess that the "free dining" Disney has offered during August and September during the last few years would only amplify what we experienced from a crowd standpoint.

I understand that people can only go to WDW when they can go but we will never go again during the summer. I'm not even sure we'd go back at the end of May just based on the crowds we saw last week. I think we'll stick with October. :thumbsup2

Nancy - feeling better now that my 2nd dose of antibiotics has started to kick in. Thanks for asking.

John - thanks for the workout information. I'll have to take a look at it all and work it in with some of the spreadsheets my hubby has.

Does that mean A Hot English Gent? ;)

BTW - Paige's French saying means: Let the good times roll!! And I only know that from going to New Orleans - the only French I know is food-related...not that this should surprise any of you. :lmao:
