Our family of five is going on the 7 day sailing on the Magic. We have been booked for a little over 2 years and just found this website. What else have we been missing out on?:mickeyjum

Welcome aboard MinnMick01!!! This is an awesome place and a fantastic group of cruisers!

Nancy, tell them about the KK's!! :thumbsup2

Okay, since I wasn't impressed with the Radisson at the Port last trip, I decided to stay somewhere else this trip for the night before the cruise.

Checked online with Residence Inn...no vacancy!
Checked online with Ron Jon...no vacancy
Called Ron Jon...(just in case!) no vacancy!

I guess I will have to go with my third choice, the Doubletree. I probably should book soon huh?

:cool1: Welcome:cool1:

Tell us about yourself and who you are travelling with.
We're a really mad bunch on here - just jump right in and chat - anything goes:banana:

Woo Hoo - just sold another £70 worth of disney stuff to a Dibber.

My dining table is slowly emptying:banana: - we'll be able to eat at it again soon:lmao:

Someone else is coming later for another £50 worth too!

And another £5 yesterday to a dibber

We're in the money! - more importantly - I'm shrinking the collection to fit in our new house:banana:

You must be a week behind us on Desparate Housewives, we have already seen the next episode. Shall I ruin it for you??:rolleyes1

Only one week ahead? I thought you'd be weeks ahead or even a new series ahead. Now you wouldn't want to spoil it for me now....would you???

I have nothing else to say....................just wasting away space. :rolleyes1

I saw this post and got thinking about Cass's website and the Yahoo site and thought we don't know what you look like and then......

Oh, I got my new digi camera so I'll have to add pictures to the KK Yahoo site. Be forwarned, you need sunglasses to view my white skin! :cool2:

Several posts later you post this. When can we see ya????

I think it is more likely that we will get hit by a rogue wave than run into an iceberg on this cruise. So I think the Posiden incident is more likely to happen.

If we hit an iceberg in the Caribbean, we have more serious things to worry about. :rotfl2:

Would you please stop talking about about Iceburgs.

Geez - I still havent decided whether to travel down the night before or not.

We have Seaworld sheduled for the 19th, then dinner and then Wishes.

I dont fancy travelling down in the dark:sad2: ... I guess it will have to be an early start the next morning as originally planned. What happens if half the passengers are stuck in traffic? Would the ship sail without LOADS of people or would they delay sailing for an hour or so if loads were still missing and caught in traffic?

Welcome MinnMick! :welcome: You have ALOT of info to catch up on! :lmao: I've only been reading these boards for a year and am still learning new cruise things all the time.

:welcome: MinnMick01 :welcome:

We are traveling with my family of 6. I'm Nancy with DH Chuck, Our DD Kristin and her boyfriend Jesse (DISname:TeamFunPants) and our DS Tony and his fiance Stacy (DISname ST Cruisers).

This thread has been nicknamed the Konked Kruisers (KK's) and we truly are a crazy wacky bunch of the nicest people you never met.

As you can also see by the amount of posts we have already we are very talkative too. So, like Karen said, just jump in anytime. We look forward to hearing from you and hearing more about your family.

:welcome: MinnMick, our family is new to the board also, We've only been booked for a couple of months, so I read, but don't post too often. Everyone is very friendly, can't wait to meet them in person. In our family it is myself, DH, DS (12), & DD (8). Who is traveling in your group?

Karen - if you travel down early enough then I don't think you'll have a problem. It's only about 1hr from WDW. Get on the Greeneway, then pick up the old Beeline towards Canaveral and then just follow it to the very end.

Heather

It's the Hurricanes and Tropical Storms you'll need to worry about :rotfl2:

Heather

Jeff - if you book AT through a travel agent, they can book the seats for even the most discounted fare. And I totally agree, even getting your seats 24 hours ahead of time is still so much better than SW's process.

What did the travel agent charge for a commission? (I thought that's what they do now since the airlines cut commissions on tickets)

Even at $10 per ticket more, that would be worth it to get the seats assigned now. For us to do it online, we'd have to pay hundreds more per ticket.

Wondering if I transfer the tickets out to AAA when I move the cruise, if they could get the seats assigned? :scratchin

What about the new Country Inn and Suites?

Also, try Ron Jon during the week. When I called a couple weeks ago, the person said there was plenty of space. Are you looking for something larger than a studio?

Like I said, call on Monday and ask them again. Good luck.

IF, and this is still a big IF because these thing always get moved (hopefully not though), the road should empty out by noon-1:00 since the launch is at 12:50 right now.

Now if you want to be one of the first in the terminal, AND the launch is that day, you may want to go a little earlier.

I wouldn't worry too much about it until we get a little closer to the actual date. That said, it will get harder to get a room the night before if that date starts to firm up. Make sure you book a cancellable room or one with a low penalty. Most have 72 hour cancellation. You should know if they are going to launch be that Tuesday before.

As for driving that route in the dark, we did it before a Wonder cruise and it was fine. Straight shot to the coast.

Ok, anyone know a cheap and cheerful hotel by the port? We wont be getting there til gone 11.30pm, so it will be just to crash in so I dont care how basic or fancy it is. Also, do any of them do a transfer to the ship on the morning and let you leave your car onsite in their car park? If so, would it be safe or would we be better off parking in the disney port car park?

The Radisson has parking and a shuttle (I believe you need to sign up for it, so sign up early).

There is also the Country Inn, which is the newest hotel there. They have a shuttle, but I believe they use an outside company, not hotel vans.

I know the Radisson has free parking, not sure about the Country Inn.

There are others, but I don't know them off the top of my head.

We have booked the whole package of flying in the day before and staying at the airport hotel that disney put us up at. We are also traveling with my parents who can not make a lot of changes so we are trying to make it easy on them.
