Uh-oh....guess we're going to hope for the best. We've already booked our flights and we're going down the morning of.
I'm just going to think postively!

Already taking DS one whole week out of school his senior year, don't need to add Friday too, that's what we were thinking.

But anyway, we'll just hope for the best.

Scouter,

We are flying in the morning of the 20th too! I'll think good thoughts for you if you do the same for us.

I am a little nervous about flying down that morning, but we have done it twice before (with other cruise lines) and never had a problem. I just couldn't rationalize pulling both kids out of school another day and my husband and I each having to take another vacation day, plus the extra for food, hotel, etc... Hopefully, there SHOULDN'T be snow yet in our neck of the woods (flying out of O'Hare) and we will just pray for no mechanical problems. I think we are due to arrive around 10:30 am in Orlando.

Maybe we've covered this already.......

I am wondering if we need to renew our passports. They expire this summer. At first we thought we wouldn't because the deadline for needing one on a cruise is Jan 2008. Then I thought, "What if one of us needs to be flown into the US because of an accident, sickness, etc.?" Would they deny us admission into the states? We have military ID's. Does anyone want to chime in on this one?

We just booked our night before the cruise and we will be staying in Port.

There are some good deals out there right now.

Country Inn and Suites:
$99 on their website, $89 on Expedia. The trick here would be to book it on their website and then submit for the "guaranteed low price" policy. They should give you the lower price plus 25% off that rate or a net before taxes of $66.75. Make sure that Expedia, Travelocity and Hotels all have it for the $89 before you try this. It has been this way for 3 days now. Have never tried it though.

Radisson:
$109 on their website.

Both of those two are before taxes, prepaid and carry a $25 cancellation fee if cancelled at least 72 hours before hand. No refund if within 72 hours.

Now where we will be is:

Ron Jon:
The website and everywhere else says no availability, but I called just to be sure and they do have rooms available. The studios are $156 per night, but with my AAA discount, we got it for $140.40.

They have the whole water park area (water slide, lazy river) and are on the beach as well.

I'm so pumped.

I literally just booked this. :cool1:

Rachel bumped me out again

Now that I am logged back in as me.

We booked the Country Inn last week. I was able to get the AAA rate of $103.50. I don't like to have to prepay and not be able to get a refund if we would need to cancel so I am happy with this rate.
I had checked the Ron Jon but kept coming up with no availability and with the price difference we will stick with the Country Inn for this trip. I'll be looking forward to hear whtat you think of it though for future reference.

How old is rachel? My DD is 10. She's just now starting to want to be on the computer. She enjoys games the most! i'm nervous about the whole talking to "friends" thing. I'll just try to do alot of monitoring. i've been on here for a few seeks so nice to meet you!!

Hi goofyfreak  Nice to meet you too. Rachel will be 13 in 2 weeks. There is a kids thread going for this cruise but I don't think Rachel has been on it in awhile the link to that thread is http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1263210

Victoria,

Not sure if you are flying out of MKE or not and if you are flying on MW, but MW dropped their fares for the 6:30 p.m. flight on Friday night.

Just a thought. We were looking at that one, but now want to go down early that day. We figured with teachers' convention the next week in WI, it would only be 4 days out. We pulled DS 7 days back in January.

Paige,

We all have passports. Just a lot easier for ID purposes.

Also, for you and Rob, I'm not sure how long you can go after it expires before you have to do a full application. It will be a lot easier to do a reissue.

The kids have to be redone every time.
