So anyone want to hear some good news?

Remember last week when I told you that DD Kristin got an internship for Interior Design? Well, she starts tomorrow and that will take care of this semester.

So last Thursday one of her teachers handed her applications for two more internships for her last two semesters.

Guess where they are? DISNEY!!!! Yup, you heard it right! One of the internships would be designing something within the parks and they other would be cruise ships. Of course she would have to move to Florida for a year and of course I volunteered to move with her!! :dance3:

I just hope that she won't be designing one of those "ride queues" at Epcot!!
:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2:

So Karen, I made her promise that if she gets the job helping to design one of the new Disney ships that she'll name it "Karen", just like you suggested!!:rotfl2:

So today she got an email saying that she is being interviewed in Milwaukee by Disney on April 12th!! WISH HER LUCK!!

That's great news!!! Our fingers and toes will be crossed - be sure to let us know how everything goes!!

Ya know, it's kind of sad when the top two posters on this thread aren't even cruising in October any longer.

I think what that means is that Jeff and I, independently of each other, need to get a life!! :lmao:

Or to book a cruise!!!! :rotfl2:

Karen,

Sorry about the news. Lymphoma can be one of the more treatable cancers, so if you can donate marrow it will make all the difference in the world. Your sister still has a tough road ahead though. Good luck and Good health to the both of you.

On a more selfish note: I hope this does not affect your plans either, I am looking forward to meeting so many of you.

Yup, I have one of those crazy long addresses too! And, my job also has one.

Are you counting spaces Jeff? My address then would have 20 characters spelling out "drive". I guess Cheryl probably has one of those nice long addresses too living in Muskego!! I have friends in Mequon who also have the long addresses but they've dropped the North-West thingy. Just the numbers now.

I am NOT counting any spaces. That is how long my address is. If I counted the spaces you would add another 4 spaces.

And oh yeah, Cheryl will have one of those crazy addresses too. Hers will be South-West or West-South.

That is awsome news Nancy.

Best of luck to Kristin.

Jeff,
Have you officially cancelled the cruise yet? I ask because I hold, in my hands, a winning lotto ticket and I'd be happy to toss you a few bucks WHEN I win. (How's that for positive thinking Robin??):thumbsup2

Where are the other Wisconsin peoples??:confused3

Hi all - just read all the posts I've missed the last couple of days.

Karen - lots of hugs to you and your sister. You're in my thoughts and prayers.

Paige - glad to hear your father is doing well. I'm so glad you could be there with him.

Nancy - lots of luck on your daughter's interview. How exciting!

Lindy - I just got your pm. I'll read it to Katie soon, so tell Elouise to expect a reply. I laughed at your comment when you were helping out in her class. I too thought the kids, Katie included, got away with too much when I volunteered in her class one day.

Not much else to report here. We're now 60 days from our May trip to WDW. Can't wait!

ps...Karen,Jeff no miss behaving....:rotfl2: ....

Me?....misbehave??.....nooooooooooo....;)

What does he think we're going to do, just ramble post to get our numbers up? Why would we do that? :confused3

Its all your fault - you're a bad influence on me;)

Dear, dear Karen,

I am so sad for your sister and for you. "Cancer" is the ugliest word ever!! I promise to keep you and your sis in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us updated.

Also, please feel free to PM me anytime! Maybe I can help with a few kind words.

Thank you, it means a lot knowing I have people to chat to if/when I need it.

Isn't this thread such a wonderful place to find true genuine people?
We dont really know each other, but in other ways we know each other better that work colleagues, we have sat net to for the last 3 years! Its a kind of "family" a support network for us all. How great.

Tina will keep an eye out for a message from Katie! :thumbsup2 Elouise is so made up to have a "mate" on the cruise.... .we met a great family last time and the girls hit it off straight away, it made the sail away party etc soooo much better, letting them have a boogie together etc, with out "old crazy mum" danncing away!!:rotfl2:

Which lottery? I didn't know Powerball was high this week. I thought it was one the other night (or do you have that winning ticket? :scratchin :rolleyes1)

FWIW, no, I have not cancelled yet. But, once Suz gets her o.k. on her vacation for this year, we will probably be booking our tickets to Southern CA. Once those are booked, reality will finally sink in and I will move my cruise reservation to sometime at the end of 2008 and wait for a 2009 cruise that I want to ultimately move it to.

I keep asking her though if she wants to do the cruise. I have 2 business trips coming up this year and her and DS will be going along. I told her, for what I'm paying for you two to go on these trips, I could book the cruise. She says, "no". I can't win.

If we hadn't just gone on it in January or if it were the other itinerary, I think she'd keep it. After all, it would be the same thing just 9 months later.

Just adding a bump for the morning...looking for something new and interesting to read? Check out the latest installment of the argie-bargie...

And now, back to work. :scared:

opps...Heather when do you, sorry when do WE go on are holidays?.....

Chris - it's sad when you can't remember when we go...under 60 days now.

Had a good day today, even though it was cold and I have a cold. Rick and I went to The Museum of Childhood and looked at all the toys in the exhibition. We went from display to display saying "I had one of those!" or "I remember them", etc, etc.

Then we went to th V&A in Central London and saw the Kylie exhibition. Seeing some of her stage clothes up close, was really wonderful. It's surprising how small/tiny she is. Her famous gold hot pants were on display. When you consider that she started out as an Australian Soap Star...just shows what can be achieved.

Anyway, we had a good day and now were back we've managed to thaw out.

Heather

Just for you Chris, so you don't have to ask again......I included a countdown on my signature for you...:rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
