Diva, My son Sean will be turning six right before the cruise so he should be just the right age for your son. He is a very friendly little boy and loves to play with everyone. Judy![]()

YUM! Can you actually believe I had the strength to wait til the photo was taken before diving in with mouth wide open!
Hi everybody...been off the pace since Thursday and I thought I'd better get out here and fill you in on the doings that have transpired in my neck of the woods.
Long story long, because I don't know how to be brief....
Jay and I have been struggling during the last three weeks to find a way to still take this cruise in October.
We've had some serious foundation issues develop since late January and the estimates to fix it are approaching the cost of a 14-night Panama Canal cruise in a concierge level room. We had planned on using our expected Federal Income Tax refund to payoff the cruise balance (even though the practical thing would have been to put it towards the cost of repairs) but then we got smacked upside the head by the government on Thursday...
We owe this year thanks to the AMT and the fact that most of our itemized deductions are mortgage interest. I never knew that the federal government considered Jay and I wealthy...wait until I tell Bill Gates.![]()
So, thanks to all the leftover medical bills from last year and some from this year coupled with a bad foundation and a federal government that penalizes dual income families...our cruise fund just went Poseidon Adventure.
Now you know part of the reason for my ill-health on Thursday...upset doesn't begin to describe it, but I've realized that in the overall scheme of things our situation could be much worse and there is no reason to whine about it.
Since we have sailed this itinerary once before, we really don't mind missing the cruise itself. What we mind is missing the chance to share the cruise experience with you fine people, who I think have come together to form one of the kindest, warmest, and friendliest cruise threads I've ever seen on the DIS.
I regret deeply that Jason and I will not have an opportunity to meet some of you in person, although we do still plan on being at WDW the week before the cruise is scheduled to leave and would love to meet up with any of you who are so inclined.
I hope that I can still hang out here and on the Yahoo group to provide any planning assistance, advice, or misplaced humor that you might need. Your cruise planning and excitement are still something that we can enjoy, even if we don't get to share it this time.
As the 20th of October comes ever closer I know I'll be thinking of you...I'll see you in my mind's eye at the cruise terminal, wearing lime green (except for Cass - inconceivable!) and mardi gras beads...I'll see you at your first DIS-meet, windblown and happy, trying to figure out how the hell that tag game really works...I'll see you seated together in the dining rooms, eating my shrimp...I'll picture some of you hanging out in the spa or at the Cove Cafe (vive le mochaccino!!)...and AFEG, I just know you're going to keep alive our tradition of elevator tag!
Most all I know that every single one of you are going to have a wonderful trip and will have so many stories to share that I will be reading 10/20/07 trip reports for months afterwards. My wish for this group is that you all have great health, great fun, and great sailing because you all deserve it.
Well, thanks for putting up with me and my over-long post. I think I'm going to go weep a little weep before Jason gets home from work.
See you all later, and happy cruising.
