***Pokes head in cautiously and looks around***

Hi everybody...

Thanks so much for your kind replies, both public and private. Now you know why it was such a hard decision for us to make. :grouphug:

Would you mind granting me the status of 'hanger on'? ;)

Nancy...in regard to a giftie for the offspring...depending on how much you want to spend I think you should do a his / her gift. For the girls you could include some extra moisturizing lotions, lip balm / gloss with SPF, some good conditioner for seaweed hair (or I am the only one who develops that problem?).

For the guys...hold on a minute, let me ask Jay...

:rolleyes1

I won't tell you some of his suggestions...mothers are not supposed to give those kinds of items to their children. :scared1: But he mentioned beer, sunscreen, snorkling equipment, and beer.

I owe some of you private responses which will be coming your way later today. Again, thank you so much for your friendship - it means a lot. :flower3: I'm going to try to figure out a way to plan a DISmeet prior to the cruise...so that I can be all selfish and try to meet some of you despite not taking the cruise.

And...we didn't win the lottery (we tried and we failed...again).

B.

Karen, you had some great ideas!! I think I'll ask for some Crazy 8 cards, Old Maid cards, the cameras, candy for the theater, chocolate, and of course a case of bottled water for each cabin. My kids aren't wine drinkers but they sure do like their Malibu Rum. Thanks for the ideas.

Steve, I couldn't log onto the disneystore.com. My PC just hung up. I'll have to give eBay a try again.

Nope Jeff, just don't touch. Leave it alone. :lmao:

BTW - Nancy if you want to order water on board ship just call room service once you get to your cabin and they'll deliver it for you. That's what Jay and I did on past cruises.

However...I've seen some posts about the cost of a case of water increasing to a ridiculous price (I swear I read one that said $40). You could check a recent navigator to see how accurate that really is.

If it has gone up that much, I'd suggest that you guys make a water run before getting to port on Saturday and just bring your own - it would be a lot less expensive if you can do it.

I actually edited out some comments from my original post. Good thing the board was quiet this morning. Looks like Jay and I are on the same page. :thumbsup2 :lmao:

Too many comments/suggestions could have been made.

Oh yeah... Nancy left the door wide open with that request and I've never been one to not walk through. :lmao:

Heather, what/who is Crufts?

Heather and Karen...you don't like the cheesecake on board? Hmmm, I kind of liked it. Then again, I'm not much of a "connoisseur" of sweets lately, just a "sewer" for carbs! ;) I think I've lost my good taste for sweets since they were cruely plucked from my diet years ago.:guilty:

Crufts is the world famous dog show i thinks it's known as the most prestigious one anywhere in the world,as it happens i saw about 20 minutes of it last night and i have to say they were dogs on there I'd never even heard off let alone seen before, the one what stood out for me was the pharoah you know the one like you see in the old Egyptian drawing, christ i thought the dog was a myth not a real breed.....:rotfl2:

I think that Chris has answered this and I agree with the Pharoah hound dog...wierd or what?

What, us guys don't like cheesecake? Or is it you just don't want us around?

As for the cheesecake...if you can bring on any New York or Cheesecake Factory cheesecake with you, you are welcome to join us. Those cheesecakes need to stick to the roof of your mouth, or they're not cheesecake....!!!

Have you guys tried the Amaretto Cheesecake on the cruise???? I think it's served on the seafood night...ooooooooh my, I dream about it

Nancy....Cabo San Lucas....too cute!!!!!!!!!:goodvibes

Hi folks

Dont know if anyone is interested but I am trying to get a boat full for a wishes cruise either on 14/15 or 16 Oct. The boat is $250 I think and it holds 10 people. I already have a couple from The Dibb and the 3 of us so there are 5 spaces left if anyone is interested. I havent checked availabilty or anything yet - just seeing if we can fill the boat first. You get soft drinks and snacks onboard. The only thing is you wouldnt be able to eat nuts onboard the boat cos of Ellis, but other snacks are fine.

Please let me know if you are interested as I have posted it on the Dibb too.

Tsk, Tsk, you two!! :rotfl2: BTW...Chuck's mind went to the same place with only Tony's basket...surprise, surprise!!. After he made the suggestion, I told him that would be a good idea for Kristin and Jesse's basket too. He muttered something about "Killing that kid if he even thinks about it". :lmao:

Oh yeah, Jeff??? OLD MAID according to Mr. Webster means: An old lady who has never married. :snooty:
:lmao: :lmao:

Karen,

Jason and I would be verrrrry interested if you have room for two crazy Americans. Let us know.

Brenda

"wishes cruise"...What be a wishes cruise Karen?...:)

Never done it but its meant to be fun - boat for 10 people - you get picked up from a disney hotel - not sure which (as you see I know aaallllll the facts!) and then you get to some spot to watch the fireworks. If you search the Dibb you'll find more info - everyone seems to love it.

Only if you bring Plankton!:rotfl: - I wont charge him kids prices as long as he stays on your lap!!!

How could I not bring Plankton?

When Jay and I broke the news about canceling the cruise we couldn't find him for two whole days...we were worried that he'd packed his bags and moved back to Bikini Bottom.

As I was cleaning house this morning I found him tucked inside an old sweater of mine that our cat likes to use as a sleeping nest...I'm not sure I really want to know how he ended up there. ;)

Now that I read back over this post I'm sure of it... we're certifiably insane at this house. :lmao:

Here's some info for you about the Illuminations cruise:

Pontoon Boats -- Another option for an IllumiNations cruise is a 24-foot pontoon boat, which seats 10 comfortably. The pontoon has a canopy, is roomier, and has some drink holders. When you rent either boat, it belongs to your party for the show; meaning the only people there will be the ones you've invited! The price for a pontoon IllumiNations Cruise starts at $234.74 + tax, for a maximum of 12 people (10 adults). Cost includes a driver, bagged snacks (pretzels, chips, popcorn), water and Coke products. Other food and beverage items are available through Yacht Club Private Dining at 407-934-3160. You may not bring your own food or beverages on board.

RESERVATIONS for all cruises are made by calling 407-WDW-PLAY, between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., up to 90 days in advance. You must provide a credit card to hold the reservation. You must cancel at least 24 hours in advance or your card will be charged.

NOTE: The cruise has gotten very popular, so be sure to call ahead for the reservation.

Cass,

someone posted on my food thread the other day about how cute your Kira is...I knew you weren't likely to see the comment but I thought you'd like to know that she has admirers on the DIS who also seem to have a healthy sense of humor. :goodvibes And by humor I mean they are laughing at me, not your sweet baby. :goodvibes

Jay had to work today and I'm eating a pear for dinner smeared with mascarpone cheese...I never knew how good healthy food could be when it's smothered in something that has almost no nutritional value. :lmao:

A 1 ounce serving of this stuff has 140 calories and 130 of them are from fat! :scared1: No wonder my pear tastes so good. :lmao: :lmao: :lmao:

Brenda, your news is terrible:sad2:
I can't believe it. You haven't tried hard enough playing the lottery:wizard:
Have you heard of the book and movie called "The Secret" all about the power of attraction and getting what you want just by asking and believing?
Well....... ATTRACT THOSE POSITIVE THOUGHTS THAT YOU WILL BE GOING ON THIS CRUISE AND TAKE CARE OF THE FOUNDATION PROBLEM TOO!

Have you positively, absolutely already cancelled or are you waiting to find a chance to work it all out still?

Rose

Thanks Rose - we did cancel on Friday, unfortunately. It came down to making a choice between the cruise and some other plans as well as the repairs and the tax penalty... since we have sailed this itinerary before Jay was pretty insistent that the cruise be the first to go. :sad1:

That isn't to say that if a miracle happens we won't do some fancy rearranging to do everything in our power to sail with you guys, because we would. But I'm one of those people who always guesses wrong when given a 50/50 chance to guess right. :confused3

I still get to share in the vacation joy of the rest of you, and if I'm really lucky I'll get to meet up with some of you before you leave on the cruise. I'd say that's still pretty good, all things considered.

So sorry Brenda, but I'm glad that you still have a nice outlook on things.
I'm glad you'll still be chatting with us.
It's been a lot of fun reading your posts and I haven't yet got to your trip reports but I am sure I'll enjoy them as well.
