October 2024 Check-In Thread

I've searched and can't find an October 2024 check-in thread...and October is less than a month away!! (If there is one, someone point me in the right direction please)

If there's not one, anyone else going in October?? My best friend and I are going October 14th-19th. Staying at The Anaheim Hotel and doing 3-park days and 1 Oogie Boogie Bash night! I dragged my bestie along for her first ever Disney trip last June. She was excited but thought I was exaggerating on how much she was going to love it. Well, I've created a Disneyland monster and I'm soooo excited we get to do another girls' trip during our favorite time, Halloween!

All my October friends, when are you going?? Where are you staying? What is your costume?? What are we eating? What are we buying?? Share all the October things!!

We will be there from Oct 17-20! Also at The Anaheim Hotel! Only doing 2 park days though, oogie boogie was sold out by the time we made the decision to add this onto our cruise we are taking down from Vancouver BC the week before. My Disneyaholic theory is “we are there anyway, have to fly home anyway, may as well stop at DL for a couple of days too!” Lol
Have you stayed at The Anaheim before? We have stayed at several of the hotels along that stretch but never that one. Usually our cut off is Disney Way, but this is just across the street.

Yes! We stayed there for our last "girls' trip". We both really liked it. It's nothing super fancy but it's clean and remodeled. It's older but it still feels nice. The pool is huge and the grounds are beautiful. Staff was great. When my husband and I go we usually stay on-property because he is more of a resort/hang around the pool guy but my friend and I just need a place to sleep and shower (with a possible midday nap thrown in ). I haven't timed it, but the walk from The Anaheim feels shorter than the one from the DLH. I liked that The Anaheim always had security standing at the entrance, especially since we like to close the park down.

Our last stay was at Grand Legacy which we really liked but prices for this time period were way too high! And yes I timed it and the walk from there to the turnstiles is shorter than from DLH! We LOVE the DLH ( and use the monorail to enter the park to save the walk, but it is shut down now along with the train!) this is an add on to a cruise so nos way I could justify the cost to stay there to hubby!

husband and I are going for the first time to DLR on Oct 14 thru 24 after many trips to WDW and I CAN'T WAIT!!! I've been franticly looking for all the cool stuff we might want to do there and it's making me more and more excited as the day gets closer!
We'll be staying at the Alamo Inn on Katella and we got 4 park days and 1 OBB. I sooooo want to go as Miguel from Coco to the party but I fear the make up might be a problem lmao

Doing a "Mums (moms!) on the run" trip with my SIL. No kids, no partners (who might not quite 'get it') Just us. Staying GCH 9-12 October. Can't wait!

Going on my first solo trip Oct 24th! Staying at the Hilton Anaheim which means Ill be learning/using the ART bus for the first time. Very excited!
The only thing I am bummed about is the virtual queue for Haunted Mansion Holiday- this is a ride I would typically try to hit twice each day. Oh well! Going at my own pace and trying new things will make up for it

My wife and I are coming Oct 3-6. The first night we will be attending Oogie Boogie Bash as Carl and Ellie. We are staying offsite that night as I'm actually in town for a work function. We move close to DL for Friday night, and will wake up and hit DL on 10/5 all day and stay at Pixar Place that night and go to DCA for the morning on 10/6 before catching our afternoon flight. We are coming all the way from Alabama and this will be my first trip to DL. We are only an 8 hour drive from WDW so I have been there a few times in the past 6 years.

I gotta say I'm kinda obsessed already. It's funny because I've always brushed off Disneyland since WDW is much bigger and has more parks. But every video or guide I watch hypes me up a hundred times more lmao
Crowds in the west coast are much more dedicated, I love it!

I've been looking for an October thread every day and was just thinking about starting one when this one popped up! I am glad because I've spearheaded threads before and kept a list on the first page with all the names/hotels/dates of each person and it was a lot of work lol!

So thank you for creating this!

my husband, daughter and I will be at the Grand Californian October 24th-29th. We have 3 park days and a dedicated pool/resort day! I am quite excited about this and have already reserved our cabana!!!
Things I am looking forward to: surprising my husband and daughter with a Disney decorated limo pickup at the airport, our cabana day and that night Goofy's Kitchen (we haven't eaten at Goofy's in years and while my husband and daughter could care less about a character meal, this one is for me!), all the Halloween treats!, the Halloween fireworks! We've been a lot but this is our FIRST time going for the Halloween season. I can't wait!

My son & I will be staying at VDH October 26th-November 3rd. We’re going to OBB on October 29th & 31st. All the ADRs are set, so now we’re just counting down the days.

Whelp, I just switched our christmas trip to halloween! Oct 15 & 16, but no party. My daughter is in a christmas production and we just couldn't make it work with rehearsals. We all have mixed feelings since we had to give up our VGC reservation and are now staying off site. But no one wants to cancel altogether, so here we are! I'm super nervous about crowds. We haven't seen halloween at disneyland in many years though, so that's cool.

I'm there over two weekends in early October (around 5-7 and 11-13). And yes I know these are the busiest weekends in October, but I didn't really have a choice of my dates!

Staying for 2 nights at DLH, plus a few nights at the Westin. Really looking forward to it as it's been a few years since I've been to DL!

Still trying to figure out if I want to take a day out for Universal though. Would likely have to take a very long/expensive Uber there and back from Anaheim which is the major barrier for me, but I also haven't been to Universal Hollywood for about 30 years (last time I went I was a kid) so I'm very tempted to try to get there during this trip...

We'll be in the area for a conference on October 15th-17th (Sheraton Park) then moving over to the Disneyland Hotel to celebrate our daughter's first birthday the 17th-21st. We'll all be going to Oogie's for our first time on Sunday! We still are undecided on one or two park days (Friday/Saturday) and need to make a decision soon. I'm looking for low-key activities on the 15th and 16th for me and my one year old while my husband is at his conference.
