I'm so glad they decided to continue the dessert party. We scored our WOC Dessert Party tickets for Wednesday, October 5th. Yea, so excited. Then we're hitting Universal on Friday. I can't believe it's almost here, the wait has been so long, that I put off all the preparation and now I'm not even close to being ready, lol.

You guys packed yet?

Not even close. I sure am dreaming about it though. 31 days

Not packed (we leave in 30 days) but lists have been created. I did some some things in our 2 yo's suitcase. Things I know i'd probably forget since they aren't regularly packed items like headphones, coloring kit - mostly stuff for the plane ride.

Just booked a weekend trip for DH and myself. First time to DL without kids in 11 years!!! My 40th is the 16th but that weekend didn't work so I'm flying into SNA on 10/21 and leaving 10/24, DH works in LA so he'll pick me up. Only doing Sat and Sun in the parks, now that we have an AP I don't feel the need to have to go for 5 days at a time (although I wish I could). Currently booked at DoubleTree and Homewood until I decide which one to keep. I was surprised and the rates I was able to get, expected them to be higher.

So excited to be going in Oct, it's been a couple years!!!!

whew! finally updated the list! We are up to 81 people in this thread! If I have missed anyone, let me know and i will take care of it.

Im so jealous of everyone making all these ADR's! We just can't afford to do more than the one big splurge at BB, and a MHP. We are still teetering on whether to fork out the money for Medieval Times on one of our non park days. I would love another breakfast at CC, or a lunch at Carthay. I dream about a WOC dessert party or character breakfast somewhere. Or a Tour. I will take a tour at some point. It all adds up so dang quickly...and if I want to squeeze in a solo trip early next summer before my AP is up...then I need to try keep costs down on this trip.

39 days until we fly to SoCal, but 42 days until we are in DISNEYLAND!!!

I'm actually going to be there 28-29th now if you wouldn't mind updating :-)

Advice please! My husband and I will go to MHP on Monday and Universal Studios on Wednesday, leaving Tuesday and Thursday for regular days at the parks. For those two days do you recommend spending the extra money for park hopper tickets? Or should we just do Disneyland one day and California Adventure the other day?

It's so easy to park hop that we can't imagine ever going without them (although we APs now). You will find yourself going back and forth at least a couple of times because you can. If you can't you will wish you could...

I don't want to tell you how to spend your money, and many do fine without hopping, but with 2 days you will probably max out DCA in 1/2 to 3/4 day and want to go back to DL for things you might have missed or back to DCA for one more drop on the TOT before it disappears...or...or...

I prefer to have park hoppers when ever I can. I think it might be especially true since both Tuesday and Thursday nights will be very busy at disneyland since they that is the one night time opportunity that non-party goers have to do DL at night and to watch Fantasy in the SKy. If you had been at DL that day and the park gets crowded at night you would be stuck dealing with it or having to go back to you hotel as your only 2 options.

Park hoppers are great and we always use ours but I think this depends on if you go frequently or not and also your family style. With DL you can easily spend several days trying to see everything but still missing stuff. CDA is a smaller park so, you won't spend as much time but again this depends on what your family prefers to do in each park. You can always upgrade when your there if there's something you want to do in the other park. Another thing is when one park closes a lot of people like to park hop to the other park as they just aren't ready to go home yet so, do keep this in mind as well and have a great trip!

Thanks, you guys, I appreciate your advice! I was leaning towards park hoppers but needed just a little extra encouragement because it seems like such a splurge! But I like the idea of having the flexibility. :)
