October 2014 Reservation

We just passed ROFR on our first DVC contract and are waiting for closing docs. We'd love to take a WDW trip in October of this year, but by the time we close and get our member # it will probably be beginning of August. What are the chances of getting a reservation this late at AKL, OKW, or SSR for October 18-25. We'd be looking to stay in a 2 bedroom preferably, but could probably swing a 1 bedroom need be.

Well it is the most likely week to be able to get a reservation but you might have to do a bit of moving between units and be willing to pay cash for a night or 2. I haven't looked at the actual availability I am just going by what I have seen in the past as checking availability for others on the forum is not allowed.

By the time you are ready to reserve chances will likely be low to get anything for a full week. Oct is high DVC demand time (second highest demand month of the year behind Dec). You might have a chance for a 1BR since those are usually the last to reserve or you might have a chance of splitting your week stay between two or three resorts or room categories.

We're going mid to late October as well, and it is slim pickings that time of year. You'll probably be able to find something on weeknights, but weekends will be hard to come by. I agree that 2 bdrm will be nearly impossible, but you might be able to get a 1 bdrm. It's unlikely you can get a full week at the same resort or in the same booking category. I'd plan on having to switch resorts twice and I'd be happy if it just ended up being once. And you might not get anything on Fri/Sat nights because Food & Wine is so popular.

We are going late October. Just booked last week and were fortunate to get a 1BR at Saratoga Springs for a week. Nothing else was available. We love SSR so are delighted to get it.

I have been trying to put something together for that time period. So far I have 3 nights at OKW, three days of nothing and 2 nights at BWV. To be honest I don't expect to be able to fill in the gap.

SSR has a 1 bedroom available for the weekdays, the others just a night or two.
