***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

I'm getting so stoked after seeing pictures that I'm considering talking my girls into staying out of school that day so we can get there early and explore! Right now we will leave either after thy get out of high school 4 ish or so or check themselves out at noon. We have a seven hour drive so we usually pull in around 11:30 or so that night.

I say let them skip that day and head to Disney first thing in the morning. I think it's definitely worth exploring the resort and maybe hitting up DTD the first day! That's our plan and it's our first trip ever!

Nope it's one or the other. You can't combine discounts. I work for AAA

My AAA agent called the other day. I'm getting an $87 refund. It's the difference between what I'm losing with the room discount and the cost of the dinner plan credit that I had already paid for. I didn't realize the room discount was that big but she said because it was on a deluxe resort it was. Anyhow, I guess a small credit is better than no credit!

I paid off our trip today!! Will purchase MNSSHP tics next payday, and then start saving spending money. I already rolled most of the coins in my bucket and have $76.00 so far.

They definitely do them in October. We are booked for the cruise on Nov. 2.

I'm so excited about the upcoming trip that I can barely get anything else done around the house today. Would you guys be able to offer your opinion on my two options?

We are early birds and tend to be too tired for fireworks so I'm trying to build in breaks and I'd like time at FW since last time we were always in the parks. With only 5 days, we don't really have a free day.

Option 1:
Arrive 10/24 - DHS. I have a 1:20 Fantasmic reserv for Mama Melrose. I thought we could take a break if we wanted around 3 to explore FW and then return around 6/6:30 for Fantasmic.

10/25 - Epcot. We have a 6:30 dinner reserv. One of my favorite things is World Showcase at night, although I've never seen Illuminations. I thought if we took a break in the afternoon, we could come back before dinner and stay late.

10/26 - MK. 8:15 am reserv. for Crystal Palace. Break. MNSSHP.

10/27 - AK. HDDR.

10/28 - MK - any rides we missed on 10/26. 7:30 flight home.

Option 2:
10/24 - Epcot
10/25- MK. MNSSHP
10/26 - DHS
Last 2 days the same as above.

The reason for the change is to try to get MNSSHP on the 25th instead of the 26th. The only other option would be to skip Illuminations in plan 1 and go to MNSSHP instead.

I wish I could put this plan to rest and start obsessing about other details, like matching t-shirts!

Welcome Karyn! I can relate... this will be my 4th trip in a year and a half. I went last May for the first time in my life, then last October, then again this past May and I'm headed back this coming October. Glad to see I'm not the only one with this "problem".

I managed to pick the one week that there are no discounts. My friends and I are going Oct. 11-15th, and that is like the only week during that time that has no discounts. It makes me mad, but the trip is already set and plane tickets are already bought. Just have to live with it. But still looking forward to going.

Same here, but I see discounts as one of those bonus things. They're great to have & I love getting one, but am not begrudging the company because it doesn't happen during our travel weeks. If we were all entitled to discounts many seem to think the company should be handing out, we'd get them all the time, custom tailored to our desires. Yeah right.

Going with my sister and her 4 children and our father for 1 week, then just my family for (dh, myself, dd 10. adn dd5) the second week. So, for us two weeks of Disney bliss!!!

Details: October 20-Nov 3, Free dining, Pop Century, and MNSSHP. Possibly a Universal trip for my family and La Nouba (we love it!). I cannot wait!!! We've all had a rough few years (my sister lost her husband last August) so a Disney trip is just what all the kids need to bring some smiles to their faces.

We are staying at ASMu. Absolutely LOVED it last time! We asked for a secluded spot and were kindly given a room below the Beauty & the Beast marquee. Wonderful! We certainly didn't mind the extra walk. We certainly needed it due to the deluxe dining!
