***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

I made our reservations today for Royal Pacific! Also discovered thanks to DisBoards that eventually I can make reservations for a few restaurants via OpenTable! Thinking about Mythos as I think this would be a neat tie in with DS reading Percy Jackson series. Thinking Margaritaville might be a good kid friendly bet too. I just think I need to know I won't be eating counterservice park food for 6 days straight.

Not sure what to do about WDW ADRs. I don't need character meals or fancy restaurants, but I probably need to finalize a park visit plan to determine if we need any ADRs in a set area for a break from junk food. I am not going to consider Dining Plan. It is too much food!!

:goodvibes:):thumbsup2:flower3::wave2:

My ADR day is tomorrow and am extremely nervous. I'm letting my TA book them and he assured me that they would be done first thing in the morning. So I'm crossing my fingers and hoping for the best. :worried:

Does anyone have a thought or opinion about the best day of the week to go to the party? It looks like I'll have choice of SUnday 10/14, Tuesday 10/16 or Thursday 10/18. The first time we went was a Tuesday and it was great, but we are thinking about Sunday this time...just wondering if anyone thinks the weekend day will make a huge difference crowd-wise?

Thanks!
Joanna

Booked my ADR's today and got everything I wanted!

What a frustrating morning though! :headache: I got up a little before 5 am our time (6 am EST) to book online, and I had made sure previously that my resort ressie was showing on the website. When I went to book my dining, it couldn't find my resort ressie! After trying several times unsuccessfully, I checked the disboards and sure enough several other people have been having the same problem. So, I go ahead and right at 6 am (7 am EST) I call, and wait on hold for 45 minutes to speak to a CM!

At least I got all of the ADR's I wanted. I was really seeing red this morning though! :furious:

I hope you are right about the 14th being one of the dates.. Thats my daughter's 8th birthday and we are doing a mother / daughter trip. That would be a great birthday present. We are going October 11 - 15 and staying at AoA.

We are taking our granddaughter for her fifth birthday and arrive on Oct 11th and remaining through the 16th staying at Bay Lake Tower, I will pm you as soon as I get privileges Would love it if the party was on the 13th as that is Amber's birthday and I know she would love it!!

Okay, so I know that our dining plan snacks won't cover ALL of the food for Food & Wine, so, is there a guideline on WHEN to use your DP snack credit and when to pay OOP?

We are also going in October. The 8-16th. Staying in The Polynesian with the dining plan. My husband also is already tired of my planning. So happy to have others to share with!!

So I got to make our ADRs for our honeymoon on Saturday! I was planning to get up early but I didn't get home from work the night before til 1AM! Needless to say I forgot to set my alarm :( I raced to the computer and thought I wasn't going to get an of the places we wanted.

But I was so happy to find that we got all the ADRs we wanted! Yay! I even got all the times I wanted with the exception of CRT - I really wanted to be there before the park opened but the first time they had open was 8:05 AM. Not too bad though.

I made ADRs for:
CRT
T-REX
50s Prime Time
Ohana Breakfast
Whispering Canyon Cafe
Kona Cafe
Boma Breakfast
Jiko

Does anyone have any suggestions for must-dine-at restaurants for our honeymoon?

We'll be taking our 1st trip to Disney in October (I went a few times in my teens but my last trip was in 1993). Our group includes my mother-in-law, my parents, my husband, our 6 year old boys, & I. My parents are staying at POFQ & the rest of us are staying at the Polynesian.

Our ADR day is next Monday so I'd love some feedback about our tentative plans. As you can tell, I'm really undecided about which night to eat at Chef Mickey's :)

10/20
Flight lands mid-afternoon
Should we go to Downtown Disney for the evening & eat dinner there or eat at Chef Mickey's?

10/21
Magic Kingdom

10/22
Epcot
Dinner at Coral Reef or Teppan Edo? (These are the 2 my boys picked out.)

10/23
DHS
Lunch at Sci Fi Diner (I've read the not so favorable things about the food but i think my dad & boys would like the atmosphere.)

10/24
AK
Pool/Relax
Chef Mickey's for dinner?

10/25
Epcot
MNSSHP

10/26
MK
Downtown Disney or Chef Mickey's for dinner?

10/27
O'hana breakfast
Flight leaves early afternoon

Thoughts? Suggestions?

A couple of trips ago we arrived on a Sunday afternoon and spent the late afternoon and evening at DTD. It was a really great start to the trip for the kids. We ate a Wolfgang Pucks Express (yummy!) and went in several stores. It was a nice build-up to the Magic Kingdom on the following morning.
I have never eaten at Chef Mickey's for dinner, but breakfast there is fun if you have never been in the Contemporary Resort and want to see Mickey and friends.

So who thinks we're going to hit 250 pages and have to start a new thread by the time our trips roll around? We are quite the chatterboxes LOL

October just can't come soon enough for me, even though that means that summer will be over. Happy Planning pixiedust:

Let's see...I've still got 12 days until I can make my ADR's We still need to find out the Eat to the Beat artists and all the details for F&W. Plus they haven't officially announced the MNSSHP dates (even though we already know), and all the party details. Yeah, we've still got so much more to talk about before our Oct. trips.
