***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

:cool1: Whoo Hoo! I just purchased our airfare from Southwest. A tiny bit more than I wanted to spend, but thats okay. I'm so excited! I got the earliest flight in they had and that will get us in at 11:50 a.m. I cannot recall how long it takes from then to get to our resort, but I'm hoping it will only be about two hours or so. I want to make dining reservations at Boatwrights for late lunch/early dinner. We haven't been there before. And its only a 15 minute walk from POFQ. So excited so excited. What a good way to start the day. I also got the latest flight out SW had so we could get as much time in as we can while we're there. :thumbsup2

The good thing with Southwest is that if the price goes down, you can rebook without being charged a change fee. The credit does need to be used within 1 year of when you originally booked though, so you need to keep an eye on that.

Now my trick is that I always book 2 separate one-way flights. I never book a round trip. It actually makes it easier to rebook when it's 2 separate flights instead of a round trip. I have booked our flight down, but we don't have a flight back yet. We are going to Chicago before our WDW trip and both our flight out there and the flight back went down, so I rebooked and used the credit toward our flight down to Orlando. And I'm hoping that the price on that flight drops so I can rebook and use that credit for our flight back.

Count us in for Oct 21-28!! DS is turning 2 on the 24th & we can't wait to celebrate his birthday in the MK! We will be staying offsite at Wyndham Bonnet Creek.

My Son will be turning 3 on the 24th :) We are also celebrating his birthday in the MK :)

We are looking for a condo close to Disney and I am curious about the Windsor. We are looking at VRBO. Do you find you get a better price if you wait to book closer to your dates?
We are also looking at Wyndham.

I am sure someone out there will give you better rates if you are willing to wait until the last minute and your dates are flexible. However, I would not chance it. We are staying in the same unit we stayed in 2 years ago. Driving to the parks was very easy. It is a private owner that I found on a Windsor Hills website. He was very easy to work with. We loved Windsor Hills. Of course, if money grew on trees, my family of 6 would rather be in a suite at say, the Poly! Hahaha!

:wave2:

It's official. Please add us to the list. We're going to Disney World Sept 28th-Oct 5th. Our family be staying at POP Century along with 14 of our closest family & friends. I only have to help 1 more family of 4 book and everyone will be booked & counting down the days til Disney. :goodvibes

Added! Our dates overlap :) And wow, you are traveling with a big group!

Add us to the list please! We are going 10/13-10/23. Staying in Windsor Hills again, there are 6 of us and once the kiddos got bigger staying in the All-Star family suites wouldn't work for us. Although I will miss a little bit of magic being on property we are staying at a great place at a great price with LOTS of space and 3 bedrooms. So no complaints here!

I can't decide about the Halloween party. We went 4 years ago and even in the on again off again rain, it was still fun. The only thing that was cancelled due to the rain was the Villians stage show. I loved the parade and wearing costumes. :)

Added!

We just booked yesterday! We went Sept. 11 and my husband told me not to plan on a trip until 2013. He came home from work Saturday and started talking about it and before I knew it Sunday morning came and we were making reservations. I hope this means he is becoming the disney addict that I always wanted him to be. We will be there 8 days Oct. 12-20. Staying at the French Quarter which we stayed at last year, but we really loved it there. I am sitting on go already and I can't wait to do our ADRs and get MNSSHP tickets.

We did our taxes Sun night and while we didn't get as much back as last year, we at least have enough to pay for our flights and a little left over to help pay for our share of a cottage rental with my DBro and his family over the summer. Thank goodness too, considering the prices of flights right now...:scared1:..we are still playing the waiting game and hoping that either someone has a seat sale or Allegiant's prices aren't too bad when they get released.:flower3:

I will feel much better about this vacation once those flights are booked!:thumbsup2

My kids are doing the YES class on 10/23 at AK. Anyone else? Saved me $660 on our park hoppers. :woohoo:

We're all getting closer!!!

Yeah I'm just waiting for my pay stub (always the LAST thing to arrive) and then I can do my taxes. I'm also using part of my return for our plane tickets! I can't wait to get them booked. We might be driving from here (near Winnipeg) to Minneapolis and flying from there. SOOOO much cheaper it makes the 8hr drive worth it! :dance3:

Just booked my airfare with JetBlue. Our flight is nonstop, so we'll be in Orlando by 10am! Sweeet! :cool1:

Just got off of the phone with Disney to see if I had any PINs this week and I had one for 30% off! Was able to apply it to my exsisting reservation and save $325.50! FD will still be a better deal for us, so hopefully we'll get that, but after paying rack rate for everything last year, I'll take what I can get! I am over the moon happy! :cloud9:

We booked the package in January, Oct 14-20, but on Friday I booked airfare. We got non-stop but at 12:20pm. A little disappointed with that only because they released my dates 3 days prior and the time I wanted, around 8am, was only $145 but couldn't book at that time. When I went on the website on Friday it went up so I ended up with 12:20 departure time and 3:00 arrival time. It's non stop so it's not going to be to bad. I won't be there by 1pm like I wanted but can't always get what I want. :sad2:

However I am extremely excited to be going to the most magical place in the world. :cloud9:

To anyone looking to go to HDDR, I'm afraid it's not going to happen. I just saw on All Ears that it will be closed for refurb August 5 til Dec 31!

Had you been calling before and this was a new pin for ya'll?

I so want to book my air- At the current prices, my points will only cover one way (SW) and I am worried that the price will jump on the 1st.
I would love to book nonstop to save the hassle of changing planes with 2 kids and hopping to sit together. The only nonstop gets to MCO at 6:45pm :sad2:
Don't know what to do. Seems that prices are only going up.
I have usually waited to book air and find a good deal closer to time to go. This year I just don't feel like that will happen.
I hope I make the right decision. I feel like:scared:.
Oh well I do have the Yes park tickets so that's a start! -Oct 19th- HS-Production Arts and Science for 11 year old grandson.

My boyfriend and I are going Disney World on 23 September till 7 October!! Cannot wait! It's my 2nd time and my boyfriends first time there!!! So excited I could BURST!!!! :cheer2:

Had you been calling before and this was a new pin for ya'll?

I had called about three weeks or so ago and had nothing. There are a lot of rumors that discounts will be comeitn in the next few days for the summer/early fall, so I tought I would call today before the phone lines get flooded if something does come out. So glad I called!!!

So I just called to see if I had a PIN attached to my ressie only to find out I don't. :sad2: That's ok though. I kindof knew there wouldn't be one. I did however as CM when they would be releasing FD for Oct and I was told that it could be tomorrow, next week or in a month. I was also told it is a highly guarded secret. That's just to funny, highly guarded.

I do have to say though I enjoyed being on hold for 15 mins. Lots of disney music, made me feel like I was there for a few mins. Now if only all hold music could be so good. :)

hi, I was able to switch things around, added a day @ Universal, now have enough points to stay @ VWL:banana:9/29 to 10/3. So convenient for MNSSHP nights, cannot wait.:)
