***October 2012 Thread*** MNSSHP + Food & Wine - Does It Get Any Better?

Can I join in? Our 11 month DVC window just opened today and we booked our first trip with our membership! We're staying at BLT October 13th-20th. It'll be DD's first trip and we're celebrating her 1st birthday while we are there!!

Now to start planning! Is it bad that I'm already thinking of what DD is going to wear each day?

Welcome! And no it isnt bad! It might be a little crazy but I'm guilty too! lmfao! We're getting luggage for Christmas and I have seriously considered laying the suit cases out (like WHEN we get them) so I can throw stuff in them until the trip!

I just decided to go all out because this is our FIRST vacation ever. Seriously my kids have been to Saskatchewan and Alberta, Canada. No where else. Ever. And both of those trips were to the middle of nowhere. They didn't really do anything fun. So I'm like...sure it's more money but I can do this. I have 10mths to pay it off and who knows when we will be able to do another trip! And since we're there for 12 days I wanted to have the Queen beds and a little more space. IF we were going for less time and only using the room to sleep I would have stayed at Pop for sure.

I think it's great that you are going all out for your vacation!! I know it will be a trip your kiddos will NEVER forget! Why not make it extra magical?!
I'm more than sure it will be worth the money once you see their faces light up!
I wish Ben and I were staying for 12 days, that would be soooo awesome! You guys will have a blast!
I am very thankful for the 8 days we are getting to go, though! And I can't wait!

Thanks! I do too! I figure I went a whole year being semi-poor since we were living only on my income. No chance for savings. Finally court ordered child support so I'm using MOST of it towards the vacation since we're already used to living with the bare minimum. I really hope it is the best vacation.

My boys better stop fighting or I am seriously just gonna take a vacation with my daughter!!!!

Yes it definately is amazing to have it finally after all this time. Very sad that it took a judge and a court order to force the man to support his kids. But it's getting done so that's all I will focus on. The kids are so excited about the trip....well not as much as me....but we often break out into a "I WISH OUR TRIP WAS CLOSER" dance in the kitchen!

I know what you mean about wanting the trip to be closer!! It feels like time is draaaaging right now! I just wish we could go next week...who am I kidding I wish we could go tomorrow!! hahaha
But the anticipation will make it that much better!

Sounds exciting. I know our kids have to grow up sometimes and that's why I'm going all out for our trip next Sept. My oldest will be almost 15 year old so I needed to get this family trip in before he turns 18. He is most likely joining the Canadian Reserves after highschool.

Count us in! Oct 13-21. Celebrating our 20th wedding anniversary w/ the kids. Currently booked AKV CL but are hoping to split the stay w/ BLT at 7 months out. Our first Food & Wine as well. I'm hungry already!
