October 2012 Code Watch!!!

I just called and there is nothing for me either. I was actually hoping to apply the AAA discount but the CM told me that wasn't available either....boo! Still waiting.....

If you know you're going to do it, I would book now with the AAA just to make sure you don't miss out on that one and then if a code or discount comes out, they can always rebook. I booked through my AAA TA back in January and have sent her 3 separate PINs that I've gotten and she has had no problem applying them for me.

There are only so many rooms allotted for the AAA discount also, so you don't want to miss out on that if you know your dates are set.

Will do! Thanks much. :goodvibes

They said no AAA discount available? I'd call a AAA Travel Agent if I were you and check, or even call back and talk to a different Disney CM. We're still 7 months away from October, so I would think there would still be rooms available at the AAA discount.

Well, I guess there is a possibility that one resort might not have anymore AAA discounted rooms, so maybe that's it. But I can't imagine there aren't any available anywhere at WDW.

I agree with the previous poster, call a AAA travel agent. I had no problem getting the AAA discount earlier this week before I got my PIN and I'd checked several different dates for October as well.

I called last Saturday to see if we had a pin available, we didn't but the CM told me I should watch my mail and email over the next two weeks and "strongly advised" I not make reservations with AAA in the meantime. She then said that she couldn't say anymore. Ignore what she said about AAA, that shouldn't keep me from being able to use any pins or offers that could later come, the point is that she wanted me to believe that she knew of some offer coming. Maybe something available to the public? Any chance the CM sees some indication on the computer that I have a pin coming? Either way, it was an interesting call.

I wonder why she was "strongly advising" that you not book with AAA. That seems a bit ridiculous since you can always revise your reservations. And worst case, you can cancel and rebook. Weird!

I'm not sure if they can foresee that you're going to get a PIN. But I think they do have some indication of a public offer coming out.

You will have to keep us updated now...That is a little weird though. In 3 weeks I will BE THERE!!!! How exciting if I got to apply a discount to my October room before we went for Easter break. I really want the stress of waiting for a discount off my back!

Are you staying onsite at Easter? You might find a bounceback offer in your room while you are there.

Ahh, no, we are staying in our timeshare. We are upgrading our tickets to annual passes while we are there, so I am mostly hoping for an ap discount.

I know this is a little off topic, BUT...I'm sure you all saw that the price of the photopass cd was going up on 3/21, but thought I would throw it out there in case anyone missed it. Supposidly the pre-pay price will stay the same for now...Thinking about getting it now for the October trip just in case.

I think it was reported somewhere else the the Pre-pay will also be going up, so I didn't take the chance. I ordered it a couple days ago.

I called up Thursday night and said I already have a pin but it was not doing that much for my trip. The CM said well that is the only pin I see and I would ADVISE you to book now.. I hear her start to type like 200 wpm and she comes up with some crazy number; I said ty but I will do it myself.

Not saying it helps but I received the pin snail mail after I saved 3 vacations and ordered the DVD. I ended up booking this am 10/26 to 11/4:cheer2:.

With the pin I saved $128.00:rotfl2::rotfl: Needless to say I will wait to see if something better will come out. If we can get free dining I would rather pay the 128.00. Granted there is only 3 of us but I still have to add up flights. Right now it is averaging 900.00 for the 3 of us round trip.

I did the same thing. Had never receive a PIN but got one snail mail after saving a couple of sample vacations and ordering the CD. But I saved a whole $178 so I got slightly better than you. :upsidedow We are doing the dining plan regardless but the free dining would net us a better discount than our current PIN so I'm hoping for that as well.

Did you book with that PIN? You can always book and then change it if a better deal comes out, which is what I did. We were actually already booked but then I got a PIN that only saved a small amount, but I still had it applied. Then I received a 2nd PIN which was better and my TA just rebooked me with the new PIN. I figure it's better to book with some savings than risk not saving anything.

Of course, I knew we were going, so if you've got your budget set and that $128 isn't saving you enough to get you into your budget range, then I guess it wouldn't make sense to book now. But I would think that if you know you're going either way, it's worth it to book with a PIN that saves something.

Yes I did book with the pin. I am going to see if we do get another offer. I would be hoping for free dining or for a better hotel upgrade.

I will praise the Disney God:worship:

I'll keep my fingers crossed for you. I think my 2nd pin ended up being something like 30% off, which is great since we're going Deluxe!

Omg. I would love that. I am starting to really reconsider ASMo.:headache::headache::headache:
So DS is on :cloud9: just to be going DH:happytv: and I am :surfweb: looking for deals and everything.

This is a big celebration trip for us. It's our 10th anniversary from when we met, but more importantly, our last trip was 5 years ago and on that trip, we said we wouldn't be going again until we paid off all our debt, and we would go big for that trip...so that's what our Oct trip is. We can't wait!!!

We received a pin in the mail as well for October. It came after I requested the dvd. Unfortunately it was for a 10% room discount which didnt help since I had already booked a room only with AAA and that discount still ended up being better. I am really hoping for a 30% off room discount, or a free dining plan for Oct.

Keeping my fingers crossed.

I received a free quick service dining PIN via email and snail mail but a CM was unable to attach it to my existing ressie at POP, nor was able to use it online, because POP was unavailable.

Well, after much discussion, my daughter and I decided to make the switch to ASMo to be able to save some money and figured that a new resort might be fun. I contacted my TA to see if she would be able to make the switch to my current ressie, that I booked directly online thru Disney. Unfortunately, she advised she couldn't touch mine due to Disney rules, but could make another one for ASMo. I agreed to do so because saving $$$ is saving $$$, no matter how little.

Well, much to my surprise, my TA (who is with Dreams Unlimited) was able to get me the quick dining at POP! I had tried the night before and POP was definitely NOT available. So, I don't know if Disney is holding rooms back and she just had the magic touch in getting it or if the room just became available that morning.

Moral of the story? Just because it's not available now, keep trying. And if you're not having any luck on your own, call a TA. ;)

(sorry for the long story...lol)

Well, I just got my very first pin code EVER! It came via e-mail, and was for 10% off at any resort for most of October. Not the best, but still a pin, and I applied it to the reservation I just made yesterday. I still expect to end up switching that to another discount later (AP for 30-40%? *fingers crossed*).

Yesterday, the CM told me there weren't any pin codes for my address, but it turns out this pin code had my street name spelled incorrectly. This is our third time going to WDW, and our address has always been correct, but here's what I think happened...

Last Thursday, I called in to see if I had a pin. The guy I spoke to seemed a little "off" and not very helpful. He didn't even look up my husband's name as well to see if he had a pin, or even ask about who would be going on vacation with me. I told him I wanted to stay at an Epcot resort, and he said there were available rooms at all of them, but BWI was the only one with Standard rooms still available. He wanted me to book, but I didn't feel like at the time.

Then this e-mail comes through today. The top of it showed BWI with my potential stay dates in it, and it showed "Adults: 1" (also incorrect). I clicked the link, and the address has my street name spelled wrong (comically so, since the correct name is "Bellflower" and this had "Belfar"). I'm guessing my not-so-helpful guy last week put something in the system for my name under this new, incorrect address. When I made my reservation yesterday, she only searched under my address, telling me that pin codes are tied to addresses, not names. Today, the CM searched under my name, and found out I was in the system twice, once under my correct address and once under the wrong one. He fixed that, and added my husband's name to the one he fixed.

So, the moral is: have them search by name for your pin code!
