Hiya! :wave2:

Welcome to my first trip report on the UK boards. It's a little late (ok...so it's quite late, but better late than never right??).

It's 96 days till we fly and to get me excited I'm writing this TR to re-live our past trip. Our last trip was a rather special one, last October we arrived in Disney for our wedding. It was also special because it was my parents and sisters first time to WDW (infact first time they'd flown anywhere!).

So here we are, a group of very excited people!

First off there's me, Ruth.

The plan: We we're due to fly from Manchester on Friday 30th of September. We were originally going to book a taxi to take all eight of us up to Manchester but in the end we felt a little uneasy about that. We didn't want to rely on someone else so in the end we decided we'd be better off stopping in a hotel the night before. James booked us a night in the Radisson Blu Hotel so we could drive up ourselves and leave the cars for 2 weeks.

Thursday soon came round and even though we had packed everything it was still a very busy day for us. Because our parents were joining us on this trip it meant they couldn't come round and feed our pets whilst we were away. So the Thursday morning consisted of moving our 2 Bearded Dragons (Link and Ezio) and the very grumpy Chameleon (Pascal). We spent the afternoon making sure we had everything, you can never do enough checking.

Because my parents had obviously never been to Manchester Airport they were going to follow us in their car. The trip to Manchester wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. Dad managed to follow us all the way without getting seperated from us or lost. Result! Oh yeah and I also had my Disney CDs to get us in the mood. Btw I should mention that I am tone deaf and I make up for my lack of talent by singing loud and enthusiastically. Our only problem was that we couldn't find the car park we needed... eventually we found it. I had to ask a woman for help and she looked at me like I was a looney lol.

We got to Manchester Airport and booked ourselfs into the Radisson Blu Hotel. James' family were due to join us a bit later on that night. So in the mean time we showed my parents how to get to the terminal as they were due to fly out on the flight after ours.

When the others arrived, they checked in and then we all met up for something to eat. James had a beef and onion sandwich whilst I had such a tasty leek and potato soup. It was lovely.

Then it was time to say bye to my parents as we needed to be up at 5.30am and they got to have a lie in. Before we went to our room Dad asked James to check something to do with his tickets. Here comes the first stress of the the two weeks  We thought he'd forgotten his tickets. Turned out he hadn't so we went to our room.

This is the view we had from our room of the walkway to our terminal.
DSCF0181.jpg

And this was our room, as exciting as this is.
DSCF0184.jpg

We got up the next day at 5.30am. I hate mornings, I don't do well with them. When we were inside the terminal we had a quick walk around the duty free shops and then because we're cool we had free tickets into the V-Lounge. James' sister came with us because she paid for a ticket. Inside we had a free breakfast which was rather good. James' parents were supposed to be going in to another lounge however there was some kind of mix up so we convinced them to come join ours. Throughout all of this I had my wedding dress with me in a box that Virgin had sent me and boy was it heavy! It hurt my poor hands.

The V lounge was pretty cool, there was so much to do besides eat as much breakfast as you can. Me and James played on the football table (where I came out as the champion!) and lurked around on the the internet.

DSCF0192.jpg

After we were done with that it was pointed out to us that as we entered the V Lounge they had put a little message up on a board for us, but we were to busy thinking about food to notice.

DSCF0189-1.jpg

They even put a little tannoy announcement out for us, which was nice. After meeting up with my parents for a bit me, James, FIL, MIL and SIL boarded our plane.

Plane journey was nothing special, I don't like flying. I did manage to watch Thor (:lovestruc) and Pirates of the Carribean 4. Eventually we landed in Orlando. The heat that hit us was wonderful, I could have stood outside and basked in that beautiful sunshine for hours. Oh and cue another tannoy announcement to the happy couple, everyone stared at us.

We had transport to Pop Century and we checked in. I had the task of watching our luggage with SIL while everyone else checked in. As James was checking in the CM who was helping MIL check in came over to speak to James. MIL had asked to be near us and the CM came over to confirm that this was ok with us, that made me laugh. CM didn't think we'd like being next door to either parents.

We asked to be near the lobby (to make walking in my dress easier) and we also asked for a high floor. We got a high floor alright but they put us in the building furthest away from the lobby, James suspected this was because of MIL :rotfl:

The CM on check in desk gave us 2 happily ever after buttons and the others got we're celebrating buttons which was nice.

After we had unpacked me and James went for a wander by ourselves. It was about 6pm and we were a little tired so we stayed in Pop Century. Along the way (to my delight as I've never come accross one in WDW before) we found a lizard! :teeth:
DSCF0204.jpg

We also saw a toad... no idea why I find it so fascinating. :confused3

By time we'd done wandering it was about 8.30pm and my parents still hadn't arrived. I was a little anxious to begin with because they'd never flown before. We tried to phone my mum but it just rang through. About an hour later they still hadn't arrived, despite confirmation that their plane had landed round about 6pmish. I started to feel rather uneasy. Unable to settle me, James and the Inlaws sat outside near the buses waiting for a glimpse of them. A CM near us started to have a chat and told us not to worry, that is until we told him what time the plane landed. We tried to call my mum again but no answer, this time it didn't even ring.

After all that worrying at about 10.30pm they arrived. My mum had turned her phone off in the airport and hadn't realised she could turn it back on later on. It didn't even occur to her to turn it on once she had left the airport either :headache:

Deciding that we were tired and had had enough for one day we grabbed chicked nuggets and fries before heading off to bed.

Up Next: Doing the twist and Magic Kingdom.

looking forward to hearing more.

Thanks for reading :goodvibes

Day 1: Magic Kingdom & Dessert Party.

We woke up saturday morning early as most people who know me will agree I don't do mornings! All 8 of us needed to be at Downtown Disney for 9ish for our welcome meeting with Virgin.

We all agreed to meet in Pops food court at 8. Most people arrived on time, peoples time keeping got a little bit annoying as time went on:headache: After we all made it to the food court a CM was walking round with a sign saying something along the lines of 'do the twist' naturally I tried to avoid him. My mum had other ideas and thrust me into his path. Now I'm not much of a dancer but I gave it my best shot! I had a bit of a wiggle and earned myself a cute little button which said 'I had a poppin' good time doing the twist'. My Dad and Sister snook into the dance right at the end and manage to get buttons - cheating I think? My Mum somehow got a button and she didn't even move. I had to work for mine

Doing the twist - apparently. I think this was taken when I was getting bored. Also ignore the time on the pic, Mum forgot to change it.

After all that excitement we had breakfast and headed off to DTD. This was pretty much uneventful really, the group seemed to divide into two. One lot charged on ahead and the rest (me being one of them) dawdled because we were too busy looking at things.

Eventually, when we were all together we were stood outside Disney Quest. James told my Mum that she could get her park tickets from guest relations at DQ. My Mum looked at him and said 'I haven't got tickets for Disney Quest, I've got tickets for Disney World' :headache: Eventually she understood.

DSCF0245.jpg

We did the welcome meeting and had a laugh with the Virgin rep. We got tickets to enter WWoHP early and have a complimentary breakfast for the first Friday we were there. We had a bit of a wander round DTD, James made us bride and groom t's. Whilst he was paying for them Mum, Dad and Sister sat outside whilst I danced around the water jets. After all that it was off to the Magic Kingdom.

Here's me with the water jets, ignore the time again :goodvibes

DSCF0251.jpg

We got the bus from DTD to the Contemporary to the Magic Kingdom. We decided to walk it because a) it was so lovely warm and sunny and b) because it was a great way to enter with my parents for their first time. One small annoyance though. My Mums a big big big big big Derby County fan (Derby are our local football/soccer team) and She'd figured out that they we just about due to play, so rather then take in the atmosphere of walking into MK for the first time she was going online trying to find out the score. This ended badly for her because she wasted money finding out we'd lost 4-0 to our local rivals Leicester City .. oops.

We entered MK and were immediately given 40th Anniversary buttons, I put it next to my Pop button and my celebrating button. I love collecting buttons:upsidedow The first thing we wanted to do was the people mover so thats where we headed. The walk down Mainstreet was fun, I love walking down Mainstreet. James however got stressed because our herd of people kept stopping to look at things, he's been to the world many times where as the rest of us like to look at things.

Me & James - not the best pic in the world.
DSCF0256.jpg

Eventually all 8 of us made it to the people mover. MIL, SIL, FIL & my Mum sat in one compartment and Me, James, Dad & Sister sat in the one behind. When we got into the compartment a CM asked my Dad where he was 40 years ago and his response was 'at work' lol Don't think that was entirely what the CM wanted to hear but there you go.

Dad taking in some sights
DSCF0261.jpg

After the People Mover we decided to do Buzz Lightyear. I have to say I didn't think my Dad would go on alot of rides at all because he isn't a theme park person but he proved me wrong and went on loads of things. He didnt do the rollercoasters but he was pretty much up for anything else. He really enjoyed Buzz, he said he really enjoyed shooting things.

After that it was MILs turn for excitement. We then all rode Carousel of Progress, she loves this ride. Whilst we were on it occasionally we looked over at her to see her miming along or singing along.

MIL & her fave ride
DSCF0262.jpg

Next up was Space Mountain, we all rode this except Dad, Mum and FIL. I always feel nervous before riding this and I don't know why because when I'm on it I enjoy it, I'm just weird like that I guess. Because it was getting to a point where people either wanted to eat or sit down we trecked over to Cosmic Rays. I had chicken nuggets and I confess.... I practically lived off chicken nuggets, they were good.

After everyone was fed and watered we decided to take the newbies on It's A Small World. If I can remember correctly my Mum, MIL, FIL and SIL sat on the front row whilst Me, James, my Dad and Sister sat behind them. We went through the ride and I sang along. Before it ended I looked over at my Dad and he looked so confused. He had one hand under his chin like he was thinking about something, like he was trying to figure out why he was there I suppose ha ha

So far the day was going well, my parents were actually riding things and everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves as they soaked up their surroundings. Next on our agenda was Haunted Mansion. I love HM, it's definately one of my WDW faves and we were eager to experience the new queue. We (I'm pretty sure everyone...) enjoyed the queue. We only went through it twice I think but yeah it was good.

DSCF0270-1.jpg

DSCF0274.jpg

My camera died pretty much after this.... After HM we did Hall of Presidents, which some of us were forced into. I was concerned time wise because I had this weird paranoia about missing my desserts. I also didn't want to miss Jungle Cruise which was after HoP. With not much time to spare we decided we could sqeeze in Pirates. Another ride which my Dad liked.

We just managed to get off Pirates at about 7.55pm we had DP ressies at 8pm. Because it was girls only James, FIL and my dad went back to POP. We headed for dessert! I know it wouldn't have happened but I was terrified someone would eat all the desserts before I got there :rotfl: We got to Tomorrowland and I saw a whopping great queue.

During the wait a fellow Dis'er was infont of us. I saw her LGMH and we had a little chat...but we failed to swap screen names. :headache: Eventually they started to seat us, by time we got to the front a man sort of barged infront of us and started firing questions at a CM. To cut a long story short he was annoyed because it was reservation only, his annoyance annoyed me because he was the only thing stood inbetween me and them beautiful fab desserts lol

We got let in and was shown to our table. It was great because we were sat infront of the railings so we had a brilliant view of the castle. We grabbed some lemonade and let the desserting commence! James lent me his camera for the evening so here are some piccies!

I loved the DP and I would do it again without hesitation! I love dessert infact I live for dessert so it was perfect for me. :lovestruc

Next up: Epcot & MNSSHP

For our second full day in WDW we decided we would head to Epcot. We all met in the Pop Century food court at 9, where to our suprise people turned up early or on time (which is practically unheard of with our lot :lmao:)

There was a constant theme running through our holiday - no matter what park we visited, there was always someone who had issues getting through the turnstiles (and to be honest, it was usually FIL!). FIL had a minor delay in getting in, so whilst he attempted to break into Epcot, the rest of us took photos.

My Mum doesn't do photos so she tried to take one of me, my Dad & sister. It took a while because rather then taking photo's she ended up filming us instead - that made for a very interesting video anyway :rotfl:

Eventually we managed to get her in a rare photo.

DSCF0283.jpg

My Dad is wearing a Sam the Eagle t-shirt that we brought from from Hollywood Studios in 2010.

After photos we moved on to FILs fav ride at WDW - Spaceship Earth. We were seated into pairs, the pairs being Me & James, FIL & SIL, my Dad and sister with my Mum & MIL following behind (a real meeting of minds this pair...:rolleyes1). We had a laugh about our photos, Dad really enjoyed it.

When we were done planning our 'future' me & James had a lunch reservation at Nine Dragons. We both love coming here as we eat a fair amount of chinese food at home.

Before we got to Nine Dragons we wandered into Club Cool where it was time for the Newbies to sample some good old Beverly! Weirdly enough both my Dad and sister liked Beverly, so no good photos! Boo!

DSCF0296.jpg

We left behind the troops and got to Nine Dragons 10-15 minutes early for our ressie. Lunch was good and the service was ok. I say ok because the nice CM who came over to refill my coke managed to chuck half of it down my leg. The coke was so cold I swear my foot went a little numb. It could only happen to me :goodvibes She apologised half heartedly and left us to clear up the mess.

With our stomachs full we headed towards Test Track where the rest of our group where. Before we reached TT we had a little play around with my new (well, new for that trip anyway...) camera.

DSCF0305.jpg

DSCF0304-Copy.jpg

Anyways, as we continued our walk I spied a little friend!

DSCF0307.jpg

Mary was lovely, she said she liked my dress and complimented my on finding James, she even likened him to Bert.

During the time it took us to eat and rub shoulders with Disney celebrities our families had managed to get on Ellens Engery, Test Track and Mission Space. None of them wanted to go on Test Track again so we grabbed fast passes for later and headed over to Mission Space because when the others did it they went on the green version and now they wanted to try the orange one. We were a little bit naughty at the point and convinced FIL that it went upside down... until recently he still believed that he did indeed go upside down! :upsidedow

We moved on towards the Seas, where we rode Nemo! I quite like this ride, it's cute.

DSCF0313.jpg

From the sea and onto land! Next up was Soaring... everyone rode this with the exception of Me, Mum & Dad. They both had the logic that 'if Ruth doesn't like this ride then we won't'...go figure. Whilst everyone was on the ride we had a chat about the upcoming wedding. I was feeling very calm but my Dad? not so much. lol.

Eventually everyone else emerged, FIL asking me why I was so scared of that ride. Rich coming from the man who thinks he's about to die on everything :rotfl You know you're a wimp when even he can make fun of you wimping out on a ride that he rode! ;)

It was now time for Test Track. Only my Mum sat out of this one, she then became designated bag lady. I love Test Track, I could go round on it all day and not get bored.

Time was ticking on and the younger members of the group had a party to attented! We left both sets of parents behind in Epcot (they went to Nine Dragons but didn't really like the service they recieved...)

Me, James, SIL & my sister had arrived back at POP in order to change.

Say goodbye to Ruth, James, Verity and Sarah and welcome....

&...Tony Stark (James)
DSCF0352.jpg

My only regret with MNSSHP is that we didn't get there early enough, lesson learnt.

As soon as we got there we headed over towards Spash Mountain and along the way we met a furry friend. I had my piccy taken with him. We then joined the long queue to meet the 7 dwarves which was hilarious!

DSCF0337.jpg

As soon as we walked up Dopey grabbed me and pushed me onto the stool. As the photos were being taken all I could hear was a kissing noise. When I turned round Bashful was trying to Kiss Sarah and kept pulling her away from us. It was so funny, no one could stop laughing - it's coming to the cinemas near you "Bashful & the Corpse Bride"

DSCF0342.jpg

It was dark by time we'd done that so we went on Big Thunder Mountain. When we got off the ride we walked past a CM.

CM: Ah Snow White!
Me: Hi!
CM: Oh and Red Riding Hood!
CM: and who are you?
Sarah: The Corpse Bride.
CM: Oh...

He didn't seem overly thrilled to see the Corpse Bride and it was funny how his enthusiasm changed.

Next we headed over to Haunted Mansion, which looked fab under the coloured lighting. As we queued my costume did not go unnoticed by Madame Carlotta who was sat near the haunted coach. She was already talking to another Snow White and when she saw me she started shrieking about how I'd stole the other girls costume and that there were alot of Snow Whites

DSCF0347.jpg

After HM we went to Cosmic Rays, we sat outside and had a pretty good view of Hallowishes. We followed that with Space Mountain. Also though out the night we hit nearly every candy person possible. We were getting pretty tired by this point so we decided to go back to POP.

...or well we were! As we walked home I spied Jack Sparrow. We'd seen him earlier but James wouldn't let me Queue up for him. Well... actually I just told a little lie. Jack wasn't there but the queue was. I made everyone wait for him, I was getting my Jack.

When he arrived he was great. I walked up to him and he spied the tattoo on my chest.

Jack: Ah! I see Norringtons branded you too!
Me: Ha ha he has yes.
Jack: Has he had you in his *chains* yet?

and the conversation went from there :rotfl:

Up Next: Animal Kingdom with a message from the Mouse himself

It was the third day of our trip and we had planned to go to the Animal Kingdom. Oh yayness. I have much love for AK, I really do. I was excited to be taking my Dad and Sarah there. With them being animal people I knew they'd love it. The plan was to meet everyone at AK because we knew we wouldn't be up early.

We got up earlyish... probably about 8.30 and I flicked on the telly (I have a bad habit of watching the weather continuoisly. It's so nice to see sunshines on the weather map instead of nasty horrible rainclouds! :goodvibes). Before I got to the weather channel.. I spotted a familiar face.

DSCF0366.jpg

Aha! Mr Jeremy Kyle. There is seriously no escaping him.

When we were ready we headed for the buses and as we made our way to the AK line we spotted MIL, FIL and SIL waiting. We made it to AK and my family were meeting us at 12pm. That left us plenty of time to fit in a couple of rides (I was itching to get on Everest...), we headed off towards Dinosaur and Primeval Whirl. I usually hate PW. Because there was five of us we had to go in two groups. MIL and (a very nervous) FIL went with a random couple and me, James and SIL went in the car behind. All you could hear was FIL shouting as us 3 laughing. I now am a big fan of Primeval Whirl.

James, Me, SIL and FIL
DSCF0368.jpg

It was almost 12 so we headed towards the front of the Tree of Life. Mum, Dad and Sarah arrived (and on time) and they'd been in the park a while already. Me and James were hungry we decided to head over to Flame Tree BBQ for a bite to eat, everyone else went and did the Wildlife Express and the Safari.

Whilst at Flame Tree BBQ James left me to get some straws and napkins etc. I was sat down staring lovingly at my chicken when a nice lady brought me out of my food induced trance. She had spotted my LGMH and introduced herself as Barbera. We had a little chat and as James came back she left. It was lovely to meet a fellow DISer!

After we'd eaten we had time to spare before meeting up with the others, I wanted to do Kali because we missed out on our last trip. It was only a 30 minute wait so off we toddled.

We met up with everyone else and decided to do It's Tough to be a Bug. Sarah really liked this show, especially the bees stinging you in the back. Because my Mum and Dad don't do alot of rides they hadn't done Dinosaur or Primeval Whirl. So there where we headed next (EE is coming up.... don't worry!)

We got to Dinosaur and rode it. All 8 of us... that was a one off and a very rare chance for a photo of all 8. So after we rode it we decided to buy the photo.

Back Row: FIL, Mum, Sarah and Dad
Front Row: SIL, MIL, Me and James
Untitled-1.jpg

As we were getting this pic a CM asked me if I was celebrating my Gleekiness. (I was wearing my Super Gleek t-shirt and a I'm celebrating button). I grinned and said yeah, then he asked what we were really celebrating. We explained that tomorrow we wee getting married and he asked us if we'd had a phone call today. We said no. He smiled and dialed a number. Next thing he passes the phone to James and it was Mickey. We shared the call and it was Mickey wishing us well and that he hoped our day went well (or something like that, maybe James can remember :goodvibes) It was such a lovely bit of pixie dust.

When we were done being chased by big scary dinosaurs (the big one that runs after you terrifies the living day lights outta me..... it really does :scared1:) Me, James & SIL took Sarah of Primeval Whirl, it was still fun the 2nd time. Again all you could hear was us (me ) laughing.

It was now time for the moment I had been waiting for... we were going on Everest!:banana: You have to feel sorry for my Dad and Sarah. Back at home this was the ride I talked about a lot. We got there and there was a 15 minute wait. Mum, Dad and FIL didn't want to ride so we left them where they could have a good view of the drop. We got through thr queue and it was less than 15 minutes. Because there was only 5 of us me & James went together, Sarah and SIL together and MIL with a randomer. Me and James have done EE before so we knew what to expect. When the ride was over everyone was smiling. They liked it that much it wasn't hard for me to convice them to do it again. We left the gift shop and managed to sneak past the drop outs (who btw were still watching out for us to come down the drop :rotfl:) We rode it again and we had the same seats as before. We got off and the drop outs hadn't realised we'd done it twice bless them.

Random chameleon in the parade... reminded me of our Pascal.
DSCF0403.jpg

Anyway we left AK at 4.30pm everyone was hot and tired. We all headed back to the hotels for a chill out, after all the next day was a pretty important day. As our minds turned to the wedding I started thinking about our upcoming MK shoot. I wanted a photo of me and Pascal... don't ask why, I have no idea and to be honest it was hard work getting that photo.

Me and James decided to head into Downtown Disney at 7pm to go find a Pascal plush. We got there and headed into everyshop that would stock a Pascal. Could we find him? Pfft! Nope, he was no where. we went into World of Disney and I asked a lovely CM at the customer service desk if anywhere had him in stock. I explained why I wanted it and to her credit she didn't laugh when a crazy bride to be said they wanted it for a bridal shoot. However has hard she tried there were no Pascals to be found. I had 4 days to find him before the shoot, it was starting to look impossible.

We went back to the hotel, grabbed some chicken nuggets and went to bed.

Sorry it wasn't a long update, I didn't seem to take all that many pictures that day - odd for me, I like to take loaaads of pictures :confused3

Next up: Wedding Day!

I'm just getting caught up on your Wedding Trippy.... eeee so excited that you decided to post this.

I love Pop.

OMG your candy stash from MNSSHP was incredible looks like they've upgraded the candy from the last time I went in 2010.

Loved your outfits!

Aha! I'm so ashamed of myself.... I only made it to day 3 before forgetting about my TR. Oops!

Anyways, Day 4 brings us the wedding!

Originally me and James were going to be seperate the night before the wedding. The bridesmaids were going to stay in our room and James was going to stay at his parents. However after lot of compaining and a video recording James decided against it. His parents snoring was a no-no . So in the end we said balls to tradition and we stayed together the night before.

The morning of the wedding we got up at 7.30, which is very early for me. For me at that time the excitement hadn't kicked in and it didn't for a few hours I was in shock from being up early. James left me once he had his shower and that was to be the last time that I saw him until we met again at the altar.

Apparently my Dad bumped into James and his sister waaay before the ceremony and asked if James could do him a favor. He asked James if he had a spare pair of cufflinks because he had forgotten his! :headache: James said he hadn't, so James and his sister made a quick trip to DTD to find some cufflinks. They didn't have any plain ones so Dad ended up having to wear Mickey Mouse ones. James didn't think that Dad would like them all that much, but turns out Dad really liked them and has kept them. There's always someone who forgets something.

Lori from Lori Loftis Production Services was due at our room at 9am. My dress was a mess, it was so screwed up that I wasn't confident that she would be able to make it look like a dress again!

The mess... umm I mean dress
DSCF0409.jpg

9am arrived and I was sat all alone in my room, trying to absorb the fact that it was my wedding day. 9.10 and there was still no sign of Lori and anxiety started to creep in. I know it was only 10 minutes but at the time they were 10 very long minutes. Every time i heard someone outside my door I peeped through the peephole and everytime it wasn't her I started to worry. Lori turned up at 9.25. Relieved I answered the door to her and she apologised straight away. She had phoned POP the day before to check which parking area she needed to be in and they (imagine my suprise!) they gave her the wrong info! Bless her she had parked in the wrong end of POP.

Anyway, she was lovely and talkative. We chatted about the Wedding, why we chose Disney, my job (I'm a dry cleaner) and her experiences working with Disney and Universal. We had also had a chat about how I came to hear about her company and I told her about the DISboards. She mentioned a fellow Disbride, who was the reason I had gone with Lori.

What can I say about Lori? well she's amazing. She really is. My dress looked terrible after a 9 hour flight stuffed in a box and she made it look beautiful (of course I am biased towards my gorgeous dress :lovestruc)

Whilst Lori was steaming my messy dress, MIL had fetched me some fruit for breakfast. I don't normally do breakfast but because I wouldn't be eating until 4.30 I decided it was a good idea. I also don't normally do fruit, I'm a cake girl! The fruit was nice though, nice and refreshing. Nom nom nom!

After Lori left it was about 10.30am and I found myself alone again. I seemed to find myself alone alot that morning, which I didn't mind as it left me with peace and quiet. Just before 11 MIL reappeared with my sister in tow. Beaute Speciale would be here soon.

11am arrived and here they were on time. They introduced themselves, we had Laine for make-up and Jessica for hair. I was having both, MIL was having make-up and Sarah was having her hair done. Both Laine and Jessical were very cheerful and chatty, I hate having my make-up done but the were very good at getting me to relax.

I had my hair done first whilst MIL had her make-up done. I wanted my hair half up with curls. I definitely did not want my hair all up because I have to wear my hair up at work and I hate it. Jessica made a wonderful job with my hair and it lasted all day too! I was impressed at how she managed to get my hair to curl, I can never manage it.

After my hair was done

After I had my hair done and MILs make-up was done it was all change. My sister sat in my spot for hair and I sat down for make-up. As my make-up was being done MIL kept running off into the others room giving them updates. Not that you can tell in any photo but my hair was supposed to be a red colour and she kept making jokes about me looking like Ariel (who is my fave Princess).

MIL for some reason kept pronouncing Ariel with this weird accent and on one of her trips to the other room she blurted out 'She just looks like Ariel!' However what James and FIL heard was 'She looks like Harry Hill' :headache:

She came back to tell us this and we had to explain to Laine and Jessica who he was. This got us all into talking about TV. They said they were suprised by what we show on TV without being censored back in the UK, it was funny to see another countries perspective on UK shows.

In no time my make-up was done and it looked good (even if I did get poked in the eye with mascara :rotfl:... I hate people going near my eyes). Laine and Jessical helped me put my tiara and veil on. The ceremony was drawing nearer.

After Laine and Jessica left, it was upto Sarah and SIL to get me into my dress. It was an interesting experience :rotfl: It was weird looking in the mirror with my dress and everything on. I looked so different.

Now I had my dress on and was ready to it was James' turn to be on his own. Everyone else invaded my room. Sarah and SIL were in their dresses and everyone was dressed and ready to roll.

As all 7 of us chatted the phone rang. MIL answered it thinking it was James. Wrong! All we heard was her say ' E- Ello!' in a loud weird accent, followed by 'yeah she's here... Ruth it's for you, it's Tanis' :rotfl: (Tanis took it all in her stride, she is an amazing wedding planner, so lovely and helpful)

After apologising to Tanis for my MIL, lol, she gave a quick run through of what was going to happen. we had a quick chat and she gave me one final message. It was from Tanya (Tanners on the DIS) who had gotten married in the Wedding Pavillion 2 hours before me and it was such a lovely suprise.

It was now ready to go or well it was for James, my Mum, MIL and FIL. The limo was coming to pick them up at 2pm so off they all went. It suddenly seemed so quiet. We twiddled our thumbs for a few minutes before deciding it was time to head for the limo ourselves. The walk down to the limo was entertaining, appaerently you don't see a bride walk thought POP everyday!

People stared, smiled and congratulated me as we walked. I felt like a famous person lol. As we waited for the limo a little bird was in a tree nearby and it was singing. It made me think of Sleeping Beauty and when Aurora is walking though the woods, so for a joke I copied her. Next thing you know, the bird flew from the tree and sat on a sign post next to me. Dad said it was like I was a proper Disney Princess now. Ha ha!

As we waited in the beautiful sunshine, we started to wonder where the limo was. When it finally arrived the driver got out and apologised. Apparently when dropping off the others my Mum and MIL wanted photos of the limo. You know we have the limo for 6 hours and the bride is yet to arrive but yeah! lets stop the limo for pics. My Dad said it was typical of the mothers, the most important person of the day hasn't arrived yet and they think taking photos of a limo is important, lol. We got in the limo (with difficulty I might add!), it was a fun ride, no one really said anything though. I still wasn't feeling nervous, the only thing that I can remember is that I had the theme tune to Pirates of the Carribean stuck in the head. No idea why lol

Within about 15 minutes we had arrived at the Wedding Pavillion. It was show time!

Day 4 continued in next post!..

Okay, so we arrived the the Wedding Pavillion and I still wasn't nervous, only excited. Me and my Dad were told to stay put, whilst Sarah and SIL got out for photos of them walking across the bridge.

At this point I still had 'He's a pirate' in my head. After a few moments of silence it was time to try and get out of the limo. the nice limo driver (whose name I've shamelessly forgot!) helped me out and I stood there awkwardly looking at my photographer. She smiled and complimented my dress and introduced herself as Cassie.

What can I say about Cassie? Well... she was wonderful. She was friendly and made me relax, because for me I'm not very photogenic and when I look back at the photos I look good. Me and my dad headed down the bridge, occasionally stopping for more piccies. It was hard when it came to looking into each others faces because we just kept laughing.

At the other end of the bridge, the bm's, my delightful Mother and MIL were lurking around. Both taking photos of me, with 3 cameras on me I felt like a celebrity. We were all ushered into the Brides Vestibule by Tanis. Tanis is amazing, she's been wonderful from day one. Always responding to emails and I even got a call off her one friday night. it was great to be able to meet her in person. We also met Rev. Jimmy Johnson. He introduced himself and had a nice chat with us. He was a lovely man with a nice sense of humor.

(I will add a little side story here: Rev Johnson was talking to James and introduced himself to the others who were present, Mum, MIL and FIL. He turned round to FIL and asked if he was James senior, to which FIL responds 'Yes, I am'. Cue funny looks at FIL. Rev Johnson never noticed and carried on talking. At somepoint he must have mentioned the 'older James' to which FIL says 'No, I'm David')

By this point both my Mum and MIL had gone into the WP. Tanis handed me and the bm's our flowers and I have to say they're heavier than they look! Beautiful though. Inside the Brides Vestibule was very pretty and I couldn't stop gawking in the mirror at 'me'. Tanis gave us a run down of what was about to happen. As Tanis went we all stood in silence, which is unatural for anyone on my side of the family.

As we stood there I heard 'Someday my prince will come' and knew James was there waiting for me. I smiled and Dad asked what I was grinning at. I explained it was the music. Disney music makes me smile anyway but today was special. Then it was the bridesmaids turn to go and after a few minutes I could hear 'Tale as old as time'.

Tanis came back and fetched me and my Dad, placing us infront of the door. Here we go! The door opened and 'Part of your world' started to play. When we chose the music James was dubious about my song. Probably because he had images of me singing along down the aisle to it. But I was good! Honest! I may have hummed a tinsy bit of the way down and had the lyrics in my head but I didn't sing!

it was hard work walking down the aisle, but I managed to stay on my feet. I handed my flowers to Sarah, who looked a little suprised by it's weight. Well yes Sarah, it would be heavier than your little flower wand, lol!

The first look..

My Dad gave me a kiss on my cheek and shook James' hand - a sign of relief that James hadn't done a runner perhaps? The ceremony was short and sweet, with no screw-ups. Also I should point out that Rev Johnson said he'd been married many years and never once had an argument with his wife - just a few loud debates. He said he'd learnt that the wife is always right. Oh yeah!

PH259201011-0082.jpg

We were then pronounced Man and Wife. (Actually we were pronounced Mr and Mrs Hood, which isn't actually our surname! LOL) We did our exit walk to 'When you wish upon a star'. We then had to wait for everyone to follow and congratulate us. Tanis said that this was when everyone hugs you and stuff. She hadn't quite spent enough time with our lot to realise that we're not a huggy group.

My Mum came upto us and her first words to me as a married woman were 'Hello ugly' Cheers Mum. Not sure what Tanis made of that to be honest. Now it was time for piccies with Cassie.

We did pics infont of the altar with just us two, then various combinations of people. looking back we realised we didn't do one inside with all of us. Oops. A couple of shots down the ailse with me and the husband, followed by a few against the window. The new windows are beautiful btw. Then it was time to go outside into the heat and boy was it hot. Normally I love love love the heat but in a corsetted dress it was hard work.

We headed to the archway and had photos of the happy couple, then random positions of people. We wern't overly keen on the pics in the end because most people are pulling funny faces because of the sun. I on the otherhand wasn't complaining because it wasn't raining, not a cloud in sight! As we wandered back inside we stopped for more pics.

(I never noticed the crane in the background at the time )

it was time to head back to the limo and make our way to the GF. But before we did that we took pics of us heading over the bridge and then had a few more pics under a tree. We all got into the limo and agreed to meet Tanis and Cassie on the otherside.

The drive to the GF was a laugh, mainly because we poked fun at MIL who cried on hearing 'Part of your world'. Also on a small note, I barely fit in the limo lol It didn't take long to get to the GF and once again the nice limo driver pulled me out of the limo. It was a weird but nice feeling walking into the GF with people shouting congratulations or waving at you. Tanis lead us all to Commanders Terrace and told me and James to hold back.

She said she was about to announce us for the second time that but wanted to confirm what our surname actually was. Once we were set Tanis went in and announced us, we walked into applause and went straight into our first dance 'Once upon a dream' which Melissa the violinist played beautfully (another wonderful person who made our day what it was, she is incredibly talented). I'd always had that in mind for a first dance ever since I was younger. When I say first dance I actually mean spin round in a circle till the songs over.

After the first dance it was speeches. Me, James, Dad and FIL stood behind the cake table with glasses of champagne in hand. I kept eyeing the cake and everyone noticed. Tanis asked me if it was ok because they didn't really have alot to work on with the colour, I said it was brilliant, just what I'd asked for.

Both fathers did speeches, neither too embarrasing. We raised glasses and now for the important part - the cake cutting. OH MY GOSH, the cake was the best cake I have ever eaten, it was beautiful. We cut it, had pics and a nice CM cut pieces of cake for us.

Whilst we ate cake (marble layered with chocolate mousse) Melissa played the violin and took requests. My Dad asked for songs from the Lion King and MIL asked for Little Mermaid (for me, because everyone knows it's my fav Disney film ever). I was going to requet Jaws but I got a few looks so I didn't. The CM who cut the cake obviously miscounted how people there were, or perhaps someone told him just how much of a cake enthusiat I am. He cut 9 pieces instead of 8 so I got another piece.

The view on Commanders Terrace was beautiful and it was so sunny. We had more pics taken, In the mean time I took my shoes off. They hurt my poor feetsies. Cassie and Tanis apparently fell in love with him, they were deeply impressed by the fact that they smelt of sherbert (even after I'd been wearing them!)

PH259201011-0182.jpg

4.30 arrived and it was time for cake cutting to end. Tanis left our present and extra bottle of champagne in a bag for us aswell as the top layer of cake. We said goodbye to Tanis, Cassie and Melissa and headed off for Park Fare.

I will finish day 4 at somepoint, I don't want to bore you all lol x
