October 2011 Code Watch

We had not been planning Disney this year, but then the Southwest Airline deal came up last week, and we just went ahead and bought tix cheap to MCO, with no clear plans on what we would actually do. Then I get a pin code within a few days! But it's two offers- one is 91.00 a night value resort (not a great deal?) or 67.00 a night for either a value or a moderate resort, but they choose for you, you have to pay for it all up front, and you are locked in for it no changes allowed. Is it a good offer or should I hold out i hopes of a last minute free dinning offer?:confused3

Now, I do not frequent casinos therefore do not consider myself a gambler, per se, still I am intrigued by the PIN offering a value or mod for the prepaid amount of $67 per night. I would be extremely tempted to try (I am a huge fan of Priceline and have gotten fabulous deals). I wish someone would take the plunge and let us know what they got!

We booked a trip for the end of Sept/beginning of Oct with a 40% bounceback offer (room only) earlier this year. I called today to find out the price of an upgrade and I got a very nice CM. She said that I couldn't upgrade with my current offer but said I should try again in a few days to see what was was available. She was hinting without saying it that new offers are coming. She said to keep checking that you never know when pixie dust will come you way. So I think new offers will be out soon!

A CM I talked to today asking about possible pins also said to watch the website closely the next little bit and call right away if I see something so here's hoping.

I'm not only crossing my fingers and toes, but my eyes as well!! We're already booked Oct 22-30 at POFQ, but I would love to save some money.

Patiently waiting on a deal...

:surfweb:

We will be there Oct 20-28 and are also hoping for a discount.

I spoke with a wonderful cast member who was very patient and answered every question with out hesitation.

This is how it was presented to me.

We had the new pin attached to us and we already have a current reservation at Pop Century

We are going Oct 9th to the 16th 2 adults
The rules are pay in full, can cancel 7 days prior to arrival and rebook for a different date a credit would be given but no refund. The offer must be booked by July 7th.
She told us this is the first time Disney was trying something like this and she said they were swamped in the early day but we talked with her at 9pm last night and not busy. She was the nicest cast member we ever talked with and spent so much time going through all the different scenarios

Sun Oct 9th not eligible pay 120.00 AAA rate 135.00w/tax
Mon Oct 10 67.00 74.81w/tax
Tues Oct 11 67.00 74.81w/tax
Weds Oct 12 67.00 74.81w/tax
Thurs Oct 13 67.00 74.81w.tax
Fri Oct 14 74.00 82.69w/tax
Sat Oct 15 74.00 82.69w/tax

Total 599.62 for 1 week room only.

you can add dinning and tickets but must be done at booking.

AAA rate for the week would be 738.00w/tax room only

This is tempting but when I did all the math if we would wait for free dinning if it comes out that comes up a little better deal for room ,tickets + dining.

Hope this helps.

We were able to take advantage of SWA fare sale. I switched our planes tix and ended up getting non stop to and from MHT to MCO for $80.00 each way!! We now have a $215.00 credit:cool1:. Now if only we get a Free dining discount would be great!!:woohoo:

Glad to see someone else was able to capitalize on that Southwest deal! I was watching them like a hawk and since fuel prices went up I was honestly only expecting $300pp to be about the best deal we could get. (Leaving on a Saturday coming home Sunday). So, Southwest gave us a 40 year anniversary sale, and I agree with everyone else that Disney needs to offer up a 40 year anniversary sale too!

It was a pleasant surprise from SWA...40% from Disney would be fabulous!! leaving from MHT is so convenient, even though we are on Seacoast!!!! It is hard, I work in Manchester and hear them flying over my office building all day......wish I was on the plane instead of stuck in here!!!

fingers and toes crossed for a Disney Deal!!1:banana::banana:

Did you ever take advantage of Skybus when they flew a couple of years ago? They had some $10 tickets and must have been even more convenient for you leaving from PSM.

humm, a deal might get Dh to go a year early.....:lovestruc

:headache: grrr..we didn't get to take advantage of the SW airfare sale! Would've been a total of 740.40 for our 4 airline roundtrip tickets! However, our airfare money had to be spent in an emergency (will have the money back in 1 month) but it KILLS me to know I will NOT be getting best deal on airfare...am hoping to spend UNDER 900! AND yes, free dining will give us a SLIGHTLY better discount than we have now...but will also allow us to upgrade DD9 to adult DP as I KNOW she will not be happy with the kids choices...but right now, we are on Kids stay & Play free...so it is a HUGE price difference...

GOOD NEWS: I finally got a PIN code!!

BAD NEWS: It's the Game On PIN, and it saves me 10%, the same as my AAA discount.

Oh well, at least I know that Disney knows I exists. Just wish I hadn't gotten so excited when I opened the e-mail titled "Magical Disney offer."

FYI, it was for "most Sunday–Thursday nights 10/1/11-10/6/11 and 10/10/11-10/31/11." And it mentioned "since you’re thinking about coming in October" so I know the website saw me playing around with and saving offers.

was told today to make the call and book at full rate to make sure we end up at POFQ for the week we want (16-22) I've been saving and playing around with the website for months (got a PIN code but for Values, not Moderates). The rumors and hopes of many on this thread keep my dream alive. Would be nice to save money....and celebrate my birthday at WDW in style.

This is craziness! I can't wait to get through the 4th of July, so that we can see what the new offer will be! Happy Holiday Weekend everyone!

I got all my ducks in a row last week. (can't believe there are no "duck" smilies on this board to insert here -LOL):upsidedow I made a speadsheet with my current resort of choice and my alternatives. I included rack rates and discounts from 10-40% with room types. I have highlighted all the best $$$ decisions given the different scenarios. Also made notes of QSDP, DDP, and OOP values for our family. I feel I am now ready to make a quick decision *IF and WHEN* they decide to release discounts. I don't want to waste time having a CM run the numbers and have someone else snatch my room. Now the waiting.:surfweb: Sure hope it is next week and not in August. We are going to Navarre Beach the 3rd week in August and NOT taking the laptop. Would be my luck that discounts would be released that week!

If that pin code is not expired yet I would call and see if it can be applied to other resort levels. We had rec'd a pin code that clearly stated it was good for 12/1 thru 12/22 but when I called we were able to use it for our October trip. Can't lose nothing by asking.

You do what I do , it helps so much to be able to look at my list when the CM at CRO says what the price will be for a particular resort and know I am getting the discount I am calling about if I have to make a quick decision.

We will be neighbors! We are staying at POFQ Oct. 15-22. So want to get a free dining! I've booked ADR's in anticipation. :dance3:
