October 2011 Code Watch

Are there every any PINs or discounts that work at Fort Wilderness?

I know that you can often use them on the cabins - we have before (and we love staying there!). I don't think you can on the RV/tent spaces, but I don't know for sure.

The way I got the Oct pin code that I just received was from checking out availability at FW with a Premium Package for one night at a campsite a few days ago. I just wanted to see if it could be done.
The email with the pin mentions that particular booking and sent pictures of FW. Go figure!

Just thought I would give everyone a heads up to call and ask the reservations rep to check your households for a pin code that could be attached to your names. My family booked a trip a couple months ago for October 21st-29th at rack rate at the Yacht Club. I've been waiting for a general public discount, ap rate or a pin and have been running out of patience. Today I called and there was a pin under our names and they never even mailed or emailed them to us so we would've never known if we didn't call. The pin we got saved us 35% on our room/tickets. The pin code just mentioned savings at a value or moderate thru a certain date in December but I had them try it and it worked for deluxe also. They are trying something new with pins by making you pay for your entire trip up front and you can't cancel or modify it so you are pretty much forced into purchasing travel insurance since you can't cancel. We purchased the travel insurance for $69 / adult and even with the insurance we still ended up saving 32% on our trip which is exactly what we were hoping for. Good luck to everyone.

For our trip this time we skipped the dining plan and just booked a package that included the room and 8 day park tickets with hoppers. Since the offer wasn't sent to us I don't have the exact details of what the pin said but my total for everything was 35% less before buying travel insurance. So technically the park tickets could've stayed the same price and the room discount was more than 35% off if that makes sense. Either way it was a great deal and we couldn't pass it up. The rep said they are testing this way out right now and we had to call the 407-939-1309 number direct to get this deal. We had to cancel our existing reservation and they were going to refund our 200 dollar deposit and we had to re-book completely with the code which gave us a new confirmation number.

I don't think Disney is giving discounts on regular tickets just yet. They aren't that desperate. It's still a great discount, though. Enjoy your trip!

Thanks. Yes it definately made our day. The way the rep talked it sounds like they sent out tons of these pin codes in the last few days. She said she was told that this will be the best deal thru the holiday seasons but there was a small booking window. I had to book by July 7th. So my guess is any general public discount or AP discount will be following shortly after that date. Good luck everyone and definately call and ask if you have a pin code attached to your names as they didn't even notify us for some reason.

I called a few hours ago cause I gave them the wrong phone number on my reservations. I also asked if there was a pin for our household and the gal said, "not yet." I already paid in full, so very leary if anything will appear for us, but not giving up hope!

I called earlier today and talked to a CM. I said that I was already booked for my stay in October but asked if there was any pins to my name that had a bigger discount or if any public discounts were out and he told me no pin but to check back in a couple of weeks for future discounts. Hopefully there is something he knows.

We applied our first Pin Code ever a few weeks ago - it was basically a ticket upgrade from regular one park each day to Hoppers and Water Parks. We aren't planning to do Water Parks the end of October and really are hoping for a better deal. After years of paying full price or purchasing APs, the Dining Plan etc... we are ready for some kind of fabulous deal! Come on Disney!!!!

Still hoping to hear of a great deal for our trip (Oct. 7 - 12). I'm sure there will be black out dates becaus of the Columbus Day weekend but even the surrounding days would help.

Glad to see there are many others anxiously awaiting a PIN or discount!!:yay:

We are booked for 10/26 -11/3 at AKL. We also will be going regardless of discount, however a discount would be fabulous :)

We were able to take advantage of SWA fare sale. I switched our planes tix and ended up getting non stop to and from MHT to MCO for $80.00 each way!! We now have a $215.00 credit:cool1:. Now if only we get a Free dining discount would be great!!:woohoo:

Here's to fingers and toes crossed!!:rolleyes1

I'm not only crossing my fingers and toes, but my eyes as well!! We're already booked Oct 22-30 at POFQ, but I would love to save some money.

Patiently waiting on a deal...

:surfweb:

Not sure if there is anything to it, but a CM (who oddly, wasnt very helpful) did mention that she thought there would be some discounts coming out soon to celebrate the 40th anniversary of WDW. Had she been a little more helpful, I might have more confidence in this, but take it for what its worth.

We had not been planning Disney this year, but then the Southwest Airline deal came up last week, and we just went ahead and bought tix cheap to MCO, with no clear plans on what we would actually do. Then I get a pin code within a few days! But it's two offers- one is 91.00 a night value resort (not a great deal?) or 67.00 a night for either a value or a moderate resort, but they choose for you, you have to pay for it all up front, and you are locked in for it no changes allowed. Is it a good offer or should I hold out i hopes of a last minute free dinning offer?:confused3

Just subscribing. . .

We have our plane tickets already booked. . . October 28th Departure! . . .just holding off on booking our room . . . in case an offer becomes available. . .

Gonna 'watch' here with the rest of yah!

I have to say I expected a 40 anniversary tie-in all along for discounts but so far I have been sadly disappointed. :sad2:
