We booked a vacation last November ('10) for March of this year. 3 weeks after we booked a discount came out. I called Disney and they were able to give us a credit back to the credit card. The credit came within 5 days. They did tell me on the phone that it could take up to 2 months or 2 billing cycles to see the credit.

I'm pretty new here, so I'm still getting the hang of things. Did I understand someone to say I could call the reservations clerk and ask for PIN? We have our trip booked and paid for, but a discount of any kind would be sweet!

You don't "ask for a PIN"; you ask if you have a PIN that's attached to your name (or the name of anyone on the reservation).

So, I was looking at the current special - the memories one - and noticed that you can book that one until Aug. 27 for travel Aug. 28-Sept 24.

Does anyone know if they will announce a new special before the current one has expired?

Could this mean they will not announce the new special until Aug. 28?!

Don't mean to start a panic, but this is my first time code watching and I'm not sure how it all usually goes.

I'd look more closely on the room discount, which I believe expires on 8/13.
With the free dining, they sometimes "extend" the dates. So they can do that at any time. A new room discount, I'd expect 8/16-8/23ish.

The 8/27 book by date is on the Memories special offer on the web site - the PIN code I had was ending the 13th, but I think the PINs have all sorts of different end dates.

My mom got a PIN today that ends on 8/18. Unfortunately, she got the same one that I did which would mean we would have to move to POR to get the discount. It isn't enough of a discount to get me to give up the new queen beds at POFQ!

I got the same e-mail and I was so excited when I saw the subject line but totally bummed to figure out that is was for the same exact deal they have had on their website forever. Oh well, I'll keep waiting for an October deal with the rest of the gang.

I am with you hoping for end of October time frame...we are booked at OKW fro 10/26 -11/3 and Free DDP would be fantastic!!!

I called yesterday and received a PIN for what seems to be 20% off. Our dates are Oct. 7th - 12th, Wilderness Lodge - Courtyard view with a 6 day Park Hopper for 2 adultsfor the total of $2077.80. I priced the same through the website and the total was around $2700. I thought it was a pretty good savings.

I got the same one!!! I too was really excited when I saw an email from Disney Destinations...and then total let down. Especially since I already have a trip scheduled for mid October! Oh well, we're going either way, but a deal of some sort would be nice!

OK, Walt Disney World Resort opened on October 1, 1971 - which means that this October is the 40th anniversary. Surely, they will announce an awesome celebration and discount!
