October 2009 Code Watch!!

Got a pin from Disney Destinations thru e-mail today. It's for buy 4 get 3 between 10/2 thru 11/24. So instead of free dining saving me $600, the buy 4 get 3 saved me $700 :)

My sister got one today too, but hers is for Buy 5, Get 2 Free. It does have a PIN code in the email. Are these transferrable? Or must the reservation be made in her name? This is an email, not a physically mailed postcard.

Just got my pin and booked buy 6 get 3 free at the contemporary!!! I am so excited!!!!!

My husband got the kids eat free pin....but I am so thrilled. This was the only way we could stay at the contemporary!

yippppeeeeee! I got a pin!!! woohooo!!! Got to switch back to the dates I really wanted, too. Oct 24-11/1!!! Weeehooo!

What kind of deal did they offer you? We're going end of May with the kids stay, play and dine free PIN, but I'm still planning to go in Oct and would love a room discount.

I got one too, woohoo!!!!! I logged in to my WDW account a few times in the last week or so and then when I got the survey screen about why I wasn't booking yet I said cuz I was waiting for a PIN. I'm sure it's probably purely coincidence, but I'm thrilled!!!

How are the crowds in Oct? How about the last week of Oct and the first few days of Nov? Is it too close to Jersey week? Does anybody know how the Oct crowds compare to Sep? Thanks!

We were there from Oct 31 - Nov 5 last year. It wasn't crowded. I've never been in Sept, but we had 0 - 15 minute waits for rides. Used fastpasses some, but often didn't need them. There were a lot of people from Jersey, but still not crowded.

My dad, who is traveling with us this trip, just got a PIN for free dining during our October stay. Since I am the one making all of the ressies, I called, but the CM told me my dad has to call, so I need to coordinate with him...maybe even do a conference all because I know all the details and he doesn't! YIKES!!!

Free dining from 10/2 - 11/24/09...that's what his PIN is for.

So had you already booked free dining and then made the switch? Right now, the free dining PIN my dad got yesterday stands to save us $300 per couple, or $900 total. My worry is if a code comes out in August for the general public that it might be a better deal. Can my dad book us with the free dining PIN now and change it to another deal if one becomes available? Last trip I did, I had a CM in the family (no longer there...boo!) and got her 40% off our room which was the best deal we calculated no matter what deals came out!

My dh and I both got pin codes today. Mine was the 4/4 nights you pay kids prices and he got the buy 4 get 3 free. We went with the pay kids prices and saved $422 on our trip. The did try to upgrade us to a delux and we almost took it but decided to stay put for the moment. We don't want to do our first trip in a deluxe and tehn always have to have a deluxe when we stay (this is how my husband is).

I'm curious - how is everyone (seemingly) getting these codes? You mentioned your WDW account. Which account is that?

On the disneyworld.com site you can set up an account. It's pretty basic, just your address, etc. You have to login every time you go there if you want to see your saved trips, etc. I used to go there all the time to price stuff but never logged in. I saw someone here suggested maybe logging in would get you a pin, so I thought I'd start doing it every day or two. I made sure everything was up to date too on when I'd last gone to Disney, etc. I have no clue if that made a difference or not but it's a pretty weird coincidence since I just started it like 2 weeks ago!

ETA: You also have to be signed up for the "Disney Destinations" newsletter, which you can do on there - that's where the PIN comes from.

Got codes yesterday for 4-night stay via email for mid Oct thru Nov. Calling today. YAY!:cheer2:

I got that too. I just got off the phone. For my 6 night solo stay at Pop Century, I saved another 21% off of my original AAA room only rate. I cancelled it and took the pin code. So basically, I added a 6 day ticket to my room for $65.

I thought you could only use one discount...AAA or a pin code?

Did you get your pin in the mail? Congrats :cheer2:

I already had a reservation for 10/25-11/2 with a 20% off room PIN code. Mind you I NEVER get codes, so I was pretty happy for that. Although Ideally, I wanted to go 10/24-11/1. In my email the other day I got the new PIN code for buy 4, get 3. Woohoo! I had the CM check to verify that it was a better deal. We saved around $300 from the original PIN. About $1500 off rack rate. AND we got to move to my ideal dates! Yippeee!

So, there is hope for those of you who already booked, and for those of you that never get codes! :)
