October 2008 Waitlist Thread

On Saturday I had to cancel our trip. Dates 10/13/08 thru 10/20/08 - One Bedroom at OKW.

Hope a DISer gets their waitlist because of this cancellation. That's about the only good thought I can have about it.

Still waiting for studio on 10/12 at OKW, SSR, or BWV. I think time may be running out. I have a reservation at All Star Sports for 10/12, but this will be the first trip that I have to move. We are at OKW on 10/11 then move to All Star then back to OKW until 10/18. Oh well, I'm going to be at Disney. How bad can that be?!!

We were on the waitlist for SSR for 10/12 and 10/13 in a one bedroom. I decided to call a few days later and they had 10/13 available. Still waiting for the 12th which seems to be very popular date. We have Pop Century as a back up but we have never had to move during a vacation before so I'm looking forward to that part. Good luck to everyone.

I am now in AKV Savannah view studio 9/28-10/7

and have now cancelled my backups OKW 1BR (nights of 10/5 and 10/6) and AKV standard view studio 10/6 (10/5 was booked completely at AKV)

at least I am thankful at least we have okw to fall back on

I should have updated my post here a while ago. I switched my waitlist to BWV 1 BR for Oct. 9 only. I still have the 3-night reservation for OKW studio, and I'll drop the Fri/Sat if I can't find anything else, but would prefer to stay in one place. We have the 1BR standard for BWV from the 10-17th already (booked last year in November).

I was up against a banking deadline in July and had to decide way before I wanted to about my options.

Wow! That's really great! It gives me hope because I've had no wait list matches since 7/13. I've got cash reservations for Oct 8 & 9 but it is going to kill be having to pay $625 for two nights. I had a project at work that was suppose to go live Oct 1 but of course that changed to 1/1/09 but when trying to move my vacation back to early October I'm still missing those two days.

Oh well, it's only money right?

WOO HOO! Just checked the DVC website and our WL came through for our ENTIRE stay at SSR! I'm so HAPPY we don't have to move four times during our trip!! We'll only be moving once--Friday night to POR to save the points! And we haven't stayed at SSR yet so I'm glad we'll be experiencing a new resort for us.

Now I need to change my countdown!!

You don't know how relieved I am! I was stressing about all the switching around, having to get new keys EVERY day, having to get luggage moved, not being able to unpack. So happy now!
