October, 2005 Trip!

Ok! Well I already tried to post this once(So if it is out there, ooops sorry)
I love this web site, It is great... You all have so many good ideas!!! I do however have a couple of questions. First off I have been to wdw many times... But this will be the first time in October, 10th thru the 17th to be exact (Columbus Day is on October 10th) Do you think that the crowds will be horrible that week? (Hope not too bad, cuz we're going anyways!!!) Also, The weather? Warm enough for Blizzard Beach still? Thank you, again!!!

You might want to go over to Theme Park Strategies boards. I'm sure you will get more resp,onses than in the Trip Reports.

I know Columbus Day weekend is probably one of the busier times in the Fall, but hey, when isn't WDW busy. You just have to make a few plans.

dont know how busy it will be, but went over Halloween last year and it wasnt busy, so couldnt imagine, columbus day bringing in more Crowds than Halloween. Watch the weather, last year the hurricanes in August caused people to cancel reservations and travel in October causing an increase in numbers.
( sorry a little smile happy), but when we went it was warm enough for water parks, we went to TL.

I think the weekend itself is rather busy and the week before and after are not real slow, but not too busy either. Lots of locals come for long weekends, but they do not tend to stay a full week. Lots of people can be a good thing, really. We went one time and the parks were empty and it felt sort of sad to me. I like company in line, about 5-10 minutes worth to be exact

We are going the week before you. We will be swiming. They heat the pools, I think, because they never feel cold.

I highly recomend www.tourguidemike.com for trip planning. Great advice and info on everything you need to know but didn't know to ask about. It is a pay to view site and I have used it twice now. It was the best money I have ever spent on my trips. You will be amazed at what there is to learn (and that is coming from someone who read the Unofficial Guide cover to cover).

Thank you, Well, I guess even if the crowd's aren't as light as we thought they might be (We went last week in Sept. 03 - the crowd's??? What crowd's) I am glad we are going to be there anyways!!! I am soooooo looking forward to going, maybe even more than the kids!!!

I am going with some friends and their families around the same time that you are! I have not been to WDW in October, but I have been in Florida and it was quite warm so I think that you should be fine to visit the waterparks. I am planning on hitting them both if they are open. BB is not open in February and that is mostly when I have been there. I hope you have a lot of fun.

We will be there the same time as you, and were also there the same time last year. Crowds were low, and since you are arriving on Columbus Day, I would think the crowds would be less after that day. (meaning I think the three day weekend will be more crowed)

The weather was plenty warm for swimming.

We just deceided our next trip will be October 2006! Can't wait to go back!!!

Our last trip was just this last June... WOW was it HOT! From what I have heard October is a bit more mild.

One of the main reasons we chose October is because of how much my wife and I like the World Showcase, and we wanted to be there for the Food & Wine Festival.
