For the check-in process, you can skip through the first 3 or 4 steps to get to the port arrival time, then go back afterward to fill the important stuff, like passport numbers.

I can't recall exactly, but I don't think you HAVE to complete checking before booking other things. In fact, if I recall correctly, you can book excursions and extras at midnight eastern, and then do the check in a couple hours later. I know they're separated by a couple of hours, I just can't remember which is first.

I went back and found Mr. Bear's post which has some more detailed info.

As PP mentioned you can have a Port Arrival Time assigned after/during online check in, which I thought everyone, including first timers could already perform. So much for the time passing quickly till Oct 20th.:rotfl:
As PP said once paid in full and at 75 days out, you can book ressies at 12:01 eastern time, then check-in is at 3:01 where you get PAT time. This PAT time slot is related to your actual boarding # assigned at port IF Not using DCL transport.

So if I understand, you will be checking in a few days after 75 days out. So the other 3994 guests could/may obtain a PAT before your party.:scared1: We also play the CC cycles.:thumbsup2

It's OK, not everyone knows to do online check in ASAP. Also even if you show prior to your PAT they won't turn you away unless the terminal is at capacity. If assigned a late PAT time it only means you will have to wait till general boarding is called, which IMO would be around 12:45 - 1:00. Also many try to plan to arrive after open boarding to avoid a crowed terminal. It can get crowed between 11 - 1. The trick for most is to arrive after open boarding and prior to the DCL buses from the resorts, which could start to arrive at 1:30.

Online check-in at 3am has 5 or 6 steps of info required prior to PAT assignment. These included; Guest info(names), ID(passport or DL), Pre / post details(when arriving, where staying, flight #, airline, etc.), Onboard acct. info(using CC or cash), and Accept T&C(check box).

Most skip what they can and edit later. I said cash for OBC, Driver License, etc. etc. just so the page will ungray and open the PAT section.

The reservation section can be done at 12midnight but has a weird quirk. After you select an item for your cart you must click "confirm". Also if you look back at availability the item still shows available to you, but only you. It makes people think "it" didn't take or something. Also DCL site prefers Firefox browser fwiw.

Wow that was long
HTH and Good Luck

That all sounds right. I'm on CA time and I booked at 9 PM, and checked in at Midnight. As far as the passport section, you will have to fill in the " Birth Certificate" bubble when trying to get to the end to get your boarding time. If you fill in the "passport" bubble, it WILL make you enter in the passport number before you move forward. Then, when you get to the end and get your check in time, you can go back at any point (or even another day) and change it to Passport and enter in your number.

We had a friend book this cruise on Monday and check in and his PAT was 11:30. Just FYI.

I am happy to go along with the majority of votes as to what fellow cruisers want but IMO, 30 cabins is a good number! I'd be happy with that . :)

Thank you to those helping with FE. Organizing, putting into groups etc ~

I agree with this also!:thumbsup2

For once I am so thankful I am in Pregon so I can book at 9pm, cause midnight is way past my bedtime.:rolleyes2

We are mainly concerned with booking our Palo and spa stuff. Should we be really worried about excursions?

I live in OREGON........and now you know I suck at editing and typing.:rolleyes1

As of right now (I just checked again) there is Palo dinner available and Remy dinner available. Palo brunch is sold out.

I usually check multiple times a day (I'm OCD that way) until I get what I want or get on the boat.....I'm hoping a Palo brunch opens up because I'm going to be very focused on the boat on getting into Remy brunch!:rolleyes1

And for the beach- we do Orient beach in St Maarten (which we've only seen 1 topless woman on in many cruises) and Magen's Bay in St Thomas (which is like regular US beaches). The food at lunch at Orient Beach is delicious (I look forward to their fish as much as the food onboard).

Not worried about any nudity as we are just adults. Frankly we would make up names for anyone and find great humor in it all anyway. But we are wierd and so uncool that way. More power to 'em I say. I won't be letting any poor sould see my little Roma Tomatoes however.:scratchin

Is Orient Beach an excursion we need to book? I am not remembering seeing it. I am all disconbobulated from reading, rereading, and not remembering ANYTHING I have read....

I believe it's listed as French Beach Rondezvous.

Good info, Cyndi, thanks! We DO have Von's birth certificate, at least, so once his passport gets here, we'll go back and change it.

ALSO! About Orient beach.. if you want to go there, but you don't want to pay for a full excursion, there are CONSTANTLY taxis and mini-busses (cheaper) going back and forth from Orient beach and the dock. It's a 2 minute walk from the pier, at worst. You wont have any problem getting there or back, and it's not expensive at all. Orient beach is self sustaining fun, once you get there you wont get bored, there's lots to do. :cool2:

Just a reminder to our new cruisers we have a Facebook page as well as this page. If you would like access please send me an private message with the link to your FB page and I will add you as a friend and then to the page.

Hi Kelly--how did I miss this one! Go ahead and add me--we're FB friends

So I have volunteered to help Brenda out so we can get things moving a little sooner for those interested.

I have a master list of everyone who is participating with names and ages, most pending cabin numbers. Since there are roughly 30 cabins signed up currently, I thought we could go ahead and break it off into groups and get working!

I for one am so excited that we have passed PIF date which means this is happening and cannot wait to get all my items made and ready!

We have 2 options of splitting up into groups. First is just splitting them down the middle and adding any extra people that join by the cutoff, which is Sept 5 as they join in. Second option would be to have a group for anyone who needs to have a sooner cutoff date (set asap) and set group members with no additional added to the primary group but added to the second group until cutoff Sept 5.

This is everyone's cruise and I would love to have some input as to how you guys want to have it broken up. This should be fun, stress free and I cannot wait!

I am good with splitting it up. Seems fair to me....

Never don't f e before, so I am with whatever the majority wants!!! I have already thought I bit off more than I could chew when I checked out the craftiness of gifts!!!! Looking forward to participating, though!!!! Marr family

Can anyone tell me where you find the day passes to the Spa. I have read about them but can't seem to find it. Trying to get everything in place for booking tonight at 12.:cool1:

They are sold onboard. Go to the spa the first day and buy the week long pass- they are not online.

Thank you. For some reason, I thought I read that you could only get the day passes online now. Guess I will have to wait that one out. Thanks again.

the daypasses are not listed as an option for me (we should be able to book it)- so I'm guessing it's still onboard only.

I've also read on other threads that you can ONLY buy a Day pass online. Once on board, they only sell the weeklong passes. I'll have to do some research...

Just cut and pasted this from another thread. Looks like you need to call DCL for the day passes..... Which I will be doing tomorrow.

The Rainforest Daily pass is $15 + $1 Booking fee by phoning or Faxing. =$16. I would just buy the Day passes as I don't see you using it everyday. There is not loads to do in there for every Day.

I found a one day spa day pass online through the stateroom gift options - http://dcl1.wdpromedia.com/media/dc...dAmenities/GiftOrderForm - Revised 2_2_11.pdf

but then I also read that a crusier on the Dream could not purchase a one-day pass - they had to purchase Rain Forest passes for the duration of the cruise. I'm not sure if this is limited to the shorter cruises or all the ships :/
