Happy Sunday all!! We are stuck in the house waiting for the tropical storm to pass!! Went to the beach to see the waves. Double red flags are up so hopefully people will be smart and stay out of the water. You know it's coming when Jim Cantorie is near by!!!

Hi All, myself and DD, 14, will be on this cruise as well. We are first timers on DCL, however we have cruised with HAL 3 times. I somehow, stumbled upon this thread, and so glad that I did. I have read some great information. This will be a surprise cruise for my DD, as she has been wanting to do it for years. She thinks we are just going to WDW. Not sure how much longer I will be able to keep it a secert as I am so excited.

Welcome! When are you planning on breaking the terrible news that she's going on a cruise instead of WDW? LOL We will be surprising our DD when we pick her up from school the day we fly out.

Side note: from what I've been able to find, the formal night is day 2, and semi-formal is day 6. I can't seem to find a navigator that I KNOW I've looked at in the past month or so. The search function of this site (and most forums) is soo frustrating sometimes. Does anyone know for sure?

These may be the ones off by a day but still good, just shift the days if applicable. Use caution planning. I printed then and changed the days so I don't get confused, as if that will help.

Not sure if this is what you asked for, but.... better having outdated ones than none.

Welcome Megan. You are going to love DCL and your daughter will have a blast. Good luck on the secret. How about every time you want to tell her you pop over here and we will help you not tell her LOL

Thank you all for the warm welcome! I don't feel so intimidated anymore, now that I see there are other newbies here also. Beachcat, sorry, we do not scuba dive, but we too take LOTS of pictures! And no, we have never been to St. Maarten. We ARE interested in going to an excursion to St. John, as opposed to St. Thomas, for pictures! Not sure which excursion.
JOANNEL, yup, we are avid Red Sox and Pats fans, but I promise not to use the term Evil Empire when near you, if you don't mention Eli Manning!
Sam and Joan, we are DVC owners also, which you can probably see on my screen name, and we look forward to meeting you also.
Is there a Facebook Group/page for our cruise? I see that some cruisers have them set up for their specific cruises.
Is everyone meeting somewhere? So NEW at cruising!!!

What a fantastic idea!!! As they get older it's harder to surprise them! So good for you! She will have a blast with all the other kids on board! Welcome to the crazy group! We're traveling with a group of about 13 as of right now. The fun is just beginning!!!

I know that the Dream and the Fantasy are huge and have stabilizers but they would have been rocking and rolling in the Gulf this weekend. Positive karma for October 20th all cruisers. I don't want to see weather like that again and that was a little storm. Never reached hurricane status.

We really got away easy. It was just a rainy windy day. The beaches lost some sand and the red flags were up, so I hope the rest of the summer is just as calm and especially October!!!!
