Hi All, myself and DD, 14, will be on this cruise as well. We are first timers on DCL, however we have cruised with HAL 3 times. I somehow, stumbled upon this thread, and so glad that I did. I have read some great information. This will be a surprise cruise for my DD, as she has been wanting to do it for years. She thinks we are just going to WDW. Not sure how much longer I will be able to keep it a secert as I am so excited.

I could never keep it a secret! I plan waaayyyy too much for anyone not to notice!:rotfl:
Good Luck and make sure you get her reaction on video with your phone and share!:woohoo:

Welcome! When are you planning on breaking the terrible news that she's going on a cruise instead of WDW? LOL We will be surprising our DD when we pick her up from school the day we fly out.

Side note: from what I've been able to find, the formal night is day 2, and semi-formal is day 6. I can't seem to find a navigator that I KNOW I've looked at in the past month or so. The search function of this site (and most forums) is soo frustrating sometimes. Does anyone know for sure?

Unless DCL switches things up Formal Night will be Sunday night (our first sea day), Pirate Night is St. Maarten night and Semi-Formal is Thursday night.

I am trying to be sneaky while working on FE things and I was busted by the kiddo yesterday. I finally told her I saw it on the DIS Boards and wanted to make them for friends and family and had to hand one over to her to play with.

Thanks everyone, for the welcomes and encouragements. We will be doing a few days at WDW first. I am going to try to get her on the DCL transportation bus and let her figure it out from there. We will see if that works.

Questions: Has anyone done or doing the Bernard’s tour? Anyone with teens, have your teens done any of the teen’s only excursions? Weird question, but do the rooms have robes? We are in cat 4E.

Thanks!

That will be cool, how long do you think it will take her to figure out? We did this to our DD last year, spent the week at WDW, then drove to the port when she though we were headed home. Woke her up when we were on the 1A bridge and she saw the Dream.

We had planned on trying to get into a Bernard's tour with someone. From what I gather, they do private tours, but the per person cost is cheaper with a group.

Bernards Tours are popular and highly rated. We plan to book one, tweaked to our desires. Guess I should get on that.
No teens here.
From what I understand robes only on deck 11 and 12.:confused3

 DH (Bill) and I are sailing with y'all.

(:woohoo: Shhhh! We're leaving the kids at home!!! I can't wait!!! :woohoo:)

I can't believe it has taken me this long to start research and getting excited for this trip. Normally, I am already ahead of the game with our stateroom door signs made and transfers made. I need to get working! :scared1:

This will be our sixth Disney cruise. FINALLY, we get our new Gold lanyards. :wizard: We've sailed on the Wonder, Magic & Dream. This will be our first time on the Fantasy. We did this same itinerary on the Magic a few years back. It will be nice to re-visit the ports and do adult excursions. Last time, we focused our excursions more towards what the kids would like. (Butterfly Farm & Coral World) This time, we're doing what WE want to do! ;)

We're traveling with some great friends from the DIS and some Ex-DIS friends. I warn y'all, it will be a rowdy bunch!!! :lmao:

:yay: Hi Kelly!!!! :yay:

I finally made it over here!!! Can't wait to see you again!!! Are you still interested in the CC5K??? Do they let you run/walk it??? At this moment, I am NOT up to running the full 5K. After the race last year, we let up on training. I need to get back to a better routine. ;)

Welcome to the board! My husband and I were contemplating sailing without the kids, but we decided at the end to take them with us. But I am looking forward to taking a vacation with just my husband sometime soon :woohoo:

:goodvibes Thank you for the welcome! :goodvibes

This will be our first cruise without the kids and second time to WDW without the kids. We "made the mistake" of taking a trip to WDW trip last year to meet up with some friends. It was an AMAZING trip and we experienced WDW unlike any past trip. Now I know why people say WDW isn't just for kids or families. ;) Since that trip, I've been dreaming of another trip with just my hubby and I. :cloud9:

This cruise and our WDW trip (pre and post cruise) is my 40th birthday present from Bill. (My birthday is next month. :woohoo: Oh wait, I'm turning 40 . . . :scared1:) Initially, we were booked on a Med cruise with Royal Caribbean, but we cancelled it for many reasons. We would have been getting back from that trip this past weekend. :guilty: On to more happy thoughts, I have THIS cruise to look forward to! :cool1:

Hoping they do a kids Halloween trick or treat. The last 2 years they have done it on the cruises for the week before as well as the week of Halloween. It's great fun for little and big kids!!!

Well look who showed up. About darn time lady!!!!! Yup still doing the 5k, Oral surgeon has released me to run again and it gets over 100 so the treadmill and I will become friends on July 1. I ran the CC5k last year and it was the HARDEST run of my life. I plan to do a fast walk/slow run this time.

Do you want me to add you the the FB page for this group? Cause you know, we don't have enough other group pages we are on together :)

:goodvibes Thank you for the welcome! :goodvibes

There was no mistakes about that week last October  (except possibly drinking so much in that heat during DATW ). You got all sparkly on that trip afterall ;)

Don't rush it, empty nest comes way too fast.........

Hoping they do a kids Halloween trick or treat. The last 2 years they have done it on the cruises for the week before as well as the week of Halloween. It's great fun for little and big kids!!!

Unfortunately this too has gotten the axe. :sad2: Trick or treating is only on Oct 31 from recent reports, well sort of recent.

Welcome!

Sounds like you have some friends here, and I expect this to be a great cruise for all.

We are traveling with an adults only group too. Some of us have sailed with Disney several times(#6 for us also), some of us DVC owners, and some of us have done ABD together.

Look forward to meeting you.

Unfortunately this too has gotten the axe. :sad2: Trick or treating is only on Oct 31 from recent reports, well sort of recent.

We sailed on Halloween previously and it was great. However, our group also did trick or treat just for the kids in our group. They had stations/locations for the kids to find by following clues(very easy) they were given at the start. When they reached the 1st station they received a treat and a clue to the next spot. The stations were manned by pair of our members. The kids loved it.

You could just give the kids a list of cabin #'s and schedule a time for those participating to be in the cabin to hand out the treats. Lots of options.

They also did a treasure hunt on one of the beaches we were on during an excursion. Also wonderful.

Welcome TXTaylors! My sweetie, Von, and I are leaving our little prince at home for some grown-up fun, too! This is Von's first cruise ever, and we are very excited!
