October 2 & 6, 2011 B2B Dream Cruising

Looks like CC will be back in operation before we set sail, so that is a good thing for us. If I don't get to go to CC these two cruises and we didn't get to stop on the PC cruise in January I will not be very happy. That is my all time favorite stop on DCL. :thumbsup2
I hope you are right. However this is the peak of hurricane season and anything could happen yet! We are on this cruise for the new ship but CC is the real treat! Don't care if we go to Nassau or not. Been there twice and that is once to many!

On a less exciting note...there is another hurricane headed to the Bahamas. At this point I will be happy if we DON'T have a hurricane the week we are there, getting to CC will just be a bonus!

I'm hoping for our second set soon too! I'm sure yours are on their way BigRed. I had to stay home with a sick child yesterday so I got our "cruise folder" started. Printed out all of our conformations for car rentals, hotels etc. I'm going to try and start packing some things this weekend. We only have 3 weekends until we leave! All three of my kids are in sports right now, and my oldest is doing two, so between tennis matches, soccer games and cheer competitions the time is flying by!

So far only received the first cruise docs and waiting for the 2nd. Less than 30 days away from vacation! :cool1:

Talked with someone who did a recent B2B (the Irene cruise) and this is the process they went through between cruises.

Hi Ken,
I noticed you just came off a B2B. Would you be so kind to share the disembark / embark process? This is our first B2B along with several other friends on the October 2 & 6 cruises. Thanks for your help.
Allen

Sure. We got a letter in our stateroom outlining the process. We were required to be off the ship by 9am and out of our rooms (if changing) by 8am. We were changing staterooms. If you are staying you just leave all your stuff. If changing, pack it up and put the new stickers for the new room and we placed it outside our room by 8am. We went to breakfast at the buffet and got off at 845am. We went thru customs down the escalators, and then instead of going to the garage or the busses, we went right back up escalators to the terminal. It was pretty empty. You do not have to go thru the metal detectors again. Around 930am we were able to check in again, they used our same picture but we got new key to the world cards. We were able to wait in the concierge lounge. There was no food or drink. Although they say we sometimes can get back on at 1030 we were not back on until around 11am. They report that if changing rooms, the new room should be ready by 1130, but they are still behind barricades, and we were not comfortable crossing them, but I guess we could have. Everyone else was getting on around 1145 so we really didn't have 'the ship to ourselves' or anything. It actually was a bit anti-climactic. But we knew the routine and knew the ship, different from the new people. Kinda sucked for us with the storm because we could not go to castaway cay the 2nd time, and instead spent 3 days at Nassau. Yay.

:cool1:We recieved our docs for the second cruise!:cool1: I'm getting soooo excited!

That's a bummer about not getting right back on the ship! Maybe that week was a little different because of the storm. :confused3 I'm hoping we will get a little more time on the ship before they start boarding it. We aren't changing rooms so we don't have to pack and unpack. I'm so happy about that because with a family of 5 I always feel like I spend a good chunk of the first day getting unpacked and settled in. I even missed the beginning of the sailaway party on our last cruise. :sad2: So, I'm looking forward to our second sailing day because I will have nothing to take care of in the cabin. :thumbsup2

Got the 2nd cruise docs in the mail Saturday! It's officially cruise time and 26 days away from getting on a plane to WDW!

Was a little disappointed that the recent b2b experience posted didn't get right back on the ship. I'm planning on using that time to ride the aquaduck as many times as possible, if it's open. otherwise, I'll be in line ready to go when it does open. LOL

Not that many Disers on the b2b from the posts on this thread. Hope everyone is getting ready for the cruise.

Nothing will be open until they start boarding the next cruise. There are a BUNCH of B2B cruisers on this cruise, they just aren't on here. There are 25 or 30 people that I know coming on this cruise doing B2B! :scared1:

There are 13 in our group doing the B2B...:cool1: We have 26 going on the 4 day, but not everyone gets to do the B2B....they are going to be so sad when they have to get off and watch us get right back on. :sad2:

I found out last night, there are 52 going on the 4 night and 28 doing the B2B. There will be a bunch of B2B people! :cool1:

We leave here in 19 days! :scared1: I still have so much to do!

14 days till we roll out!!
Are we going to meet anywhere? Anyone staying @ PC night before? Grills has been our tradition for cruise eve dinner, but I'm thinking about trying Fishlips. Anyone been to Fishlips??
