October 1st, 2011 Western Caribbean on the Magic!

Anything else the newbies need to know. You veteran cruisers are so helpful
THe one thing I wish I'd known on my first cruise was You can't do it all on one cruise, granted we had extra things going on that first cruise.
Take time to relax and enjoy yourself
Don't say you want nothing for dessert- you may just get it ;)
You can order Mickey bars from rm service or as your dessert or breakfast.
You will not be allowed in Room until 1p ish first day of cruise so just remember you have to carry/lug anything you bring on with you for that time.
If you want to swim first off pack swim suit in carry on
There are 2 places to eat sit down lunch or you can grab something up on deck that first day.
Dressing up for pirate night is loads of fun- even if it's just a t shirt
You can get any picture without border just ask them to reprint it.
If you see something you like in store on boat buy it than, it maybe gone later ( I learned this first hand)
There are formal and semi formal nights on boat- I've seen everything from dockers to tuxes on those nights. ( Dh is wearing Tux on formal night and Suit on semi formal night, I have bridesmaid dresses for both nights)

First time cruisers here...........

Hi there :goodvibes not sure how introductions go soooo......me (30), DH (29), DD(19 months), my Mom (60), Dad (60) and Brother (25) are all sailing on this cruise. All from the Pittsburgh PA area. We have all been to Disney World different amounts of times so we are really curious and excited about doing a Disney Cruise experience!

Hi Guys,

Just a quick one for those doing fish extender. If you have not, and do not mind, can you please give your first names to Scott on this thread. Part of my FE gifts involves a little personalising with the all the names on the group. I am happy to put the names as they are on the FE, but if you are on the list and do not mind, it would look nicer with all first names.

Also, if you are interested in joining the FE, please do so soon. Just from our side, we are starting our journey to America on 6th September so I need to have all FE's done no later than the last weekend in August. I don't want to miss anybody out.

Jump on board and join guys. This looks to be a great cruise and we are really looking forward to meeting you all !!!

Cheers
Jon

I think our names are already on list but they are:
Danny and Juli Dennis
Jodi Tanis

I am looking forward to meeting you also. We are already on the list with the correct names--Angie, Logan and Amy.

Can't wait to see what you made. Hope you have a terrific trip. :dance3:

I hope you get your server.

I hope so, too! Genesis will give me the name of his head server for our cruise and I will request him/her, too!

Also had to call DCL to ask that the bed be made into twins.

It's about 64 days before we board the beautiful ship!

Hi All!! I'm a little late joining in but here I am. Taking my second DCL cruise with you all!!!!! It will be myself (Allison)32, DH 35, DS4, DM, DF, DB34,DSIL32,Dnephew17, Dniece6 and Dniece2. I am also a DVC member so I've been to WDW PLENTY!

I can't wait to step on that ship. So excited. Last trip we took was the 3night bahamas on the Wonder and we didn't do any excursions. So I'm thrilled to be doing something at each port. And this time I made reservations at Palo. Another thing I can't wait for! Are there any meets scheduled as of yet? I think my husband would laugh at me but I will sneak away to meet up. :)

Welcome Allison and Family!!! Looking forward to meeting you in about 2 months.

My cruise group consists of me (60), DH Dave (63) and our DD's m-i-l, Carla. This is the 3rd girls' cruise Carla and I have taken. We're testing Dave that week to see if he can cruise again with us! On this cruise kids and grandkids are staying home!

I have suggested a DIS meet at the Promenade Lounge on the day we board at 3pm. That location seems to be a popular DIS meet location.

Allison, we are DVC members, too. Just spent 4 nights at Vero Beach this past May. What a beautiful, peaceful resort.

Thanks for all the "Welcomes". I feel the love already. I am interested in learning more about the FE exchange. Is the info posted in the first post in this thread? Well I guess I should go look. I'm a newbie to FE so any info would be helpful. WHat do I have to do?

Also, what excursions has everyone booked? I am not an adventurous "go out on my own" type. I'm a little afraid of that (despite working and traveling around NYC frequently). We have booked everything through DCL. The cost is worth it for peace of mind. We are doing President Truman's Key West, Pirate Adventure in Grand Cayman and Mayan Ruins and Discover Mexico Park. Anyone else?

Welcome.
The only thing we have book through DC is the Stingray excursion at Grand Cayman. We thought about doing the train in Key West on our own.
My daughter is 31 and my DGS will be 7 when we cruise. I am 56.

We were viewing DC on line and a restricted verandah became available. But, we cannot get it without cancelling and redoing our reservation which they said would cost around $700. Does anyone know why Disney is just now showing those rooms? We felt it was unfair since we booked early and it was not there and now it is.
