October 1st, 2011 Western Caribbean on the Magic!

So 75 days from the day we paid for all of cruise. My daugher says we can start on the 18th for excursion. Did not know we had to pick our arrival time. Are they lenient if we do not get an early time?

75 days from sailing is the paid in full date for DCL cruises, not 75 days from the day you pay.

I do not have personal experience with the arrival times. I've read where the policy states you may have to wait if you arrive early, but this seems like a suggestion rather than a rule. I am guessing it will be more of a suggestion for Magic/Wonder sailings and more like waiting for a table at 'Ohana without a reservation.

Paid in full today!!:cheer2:

Booked Palo:cool1:

Congrats! We just paid in full and booked our excursions and Palo this afternoon! And I was so nervous about reservations/excursions being sold out since we missed the 90 day mark - but it was easy! I think I only saw one or two things that weren't available

I think the cruise must be pretty open still. Oh well, better reservations for me! :cool1:

Congrats to everyone who was able to get what they wanted.

I can say for sure that our cruise isn't filling up so fast - we booked last Aug 2010 while on board the Wonder for this cruise and almost 1 yr later, our cat is still exactly the same price!

I am hoping and praying everyday for FL resident rates :wizard:

Do FL resident rates help out?

DBF booked the cruise for us and paid; but technically I'm a FL resident still. Would that somehow make a difference later on?

Oh yeah!! We booked a 5 night cruise for Aug 2010 on the Wonder - it was expensive - $4900 for 2 adults, 1 child in Cat 7A (secret verandah cabin). We wanted it for the 2 stops to Castaway Cay, so that plus a verandah made us OK with paying the premium for it. We paid in full, then FL resident rates were released and alas, on my Disney Visa was a credit for $2600!!! We saved almost 60% - cruise went from $4900 to $2300. Amazing. All we had to do was fax one of our drivers licenses to DCL, number provided by our TA.

So yes, FL resident rates help out! I am hoping we get them for this cruise so I can put it towards/possibly pay off our Feb cruise..........

Wow! That sounds awesome.

Well then I *certainly* hope we get some FL rates for this one too! DBF would be thrilled!

Anyone with 12 - 13 year old boy cruising 10/1? My son will be 13 when we cruise.

Cruise is Paid in Full :woohoo: now to save up for the spending cash think I'll get gift cards from Giant Eagle to apply to KTTW extra spending cash and gas can't beat that:love:

Congrats on the Paid in Full. I love going to Giant Eagle. My son and his family live in Morgantown, WV and Giant Eagle is on my list of to-do's when I'm there.

Just checked the DCL website for our cruise and there are many categories of staterooms available for 2 adults. Another observation is that there are not too many of us on this thread. I have been on cruise threads where there are close to 100 staterooms represented.

Also, there are still openings for Palo brunch on Sunday before we dock at Key West.

I'm waiting for the Michigan DCL discount........................ :rotfl2:

I have also noticed the cruise doesn't seem to be very full. There are many staterooms available and less than 3 months away.

Has DCL ever lowered rates to bring in last minute ressies. If they do, will current bookded ressies be able to ask for the lower rate.

Or better yet, maybe they will start upgrading everyone for FREE.

:yay:

Well, they won't lower rates, but they may upgrade people. I have heard that people in insides get ocean views, people in oceanviews gets verandahs, and people in verandahs get larger rooms (like Cat 4s), and there should be lots of upgrades at the port.

I  LOVE  Florida. I am so hoping that tomorrow is FL resident rate day!!!
