Sandy, sorry I missed your call yesterday. I was tied up all day at my friend, Denise's house, getting ready fo rthe baby shower. Then I picked my friend Bernadine up for the shower, had the shower and took her and all of the wonderful things she got home with her. I didn't get home until late.

I woke up in the wee hours this morning with and upset stomach. I have been pretty lazy today except for getting Turner's stuff ready for back to school. He is now in bed and I am heading that way too.

I'll chat with you all tomorrow.
Love ya!
Later!

Hi gang! Glad to see everyone checking in!

Susan, give Turner a big welcome back to school hug! I can't beleive that its school time again! Makenzie starts school on the 26th. The Big Guy will start preschool next month for 2 mornings a week. Boy do the grow up fast!

Sandy, it might help to drink the tea over ice. I think the taste is better then regular tea. Let me know what you think of it. OH, I forgot to tell you about the MNSSHP, the headless horseman starts the parade off! It is really something to see!

Denine, glad to hear that it was a simple fender bender and no damage done.

Jeanne, glad to see you back! Give Dodger the dog a big hug from us too! I just wish we lived closer so we could visit too!

GO GET WOMAN....... WHere did you go?

Well, gonna go. Will check back in later! Have a great monday everyone!

Garry and I just watched the Magic leave Key West (10:15pm to be exact). Those of you going on the western on the 23rd, you will have to wave at the camera at a certain time so we all can see you!!!!! We will have to make definite arrangements before you guys go!!!

Only 3 more posts before I hit the 1000 post mark!!!! Doin' the happy dance!:cool1:

It is another Monday.

Sandy: I have green tea and it tastes so blah. I like strong tea. It really needs the honey.

Went out and bought 3 ceiling fans for the new house. We still need one more.

We have our walk through 2 weeks from today. We also have a retirement dinner for Jerry's mom that evening.

Kaleigh is working on those 2 year molars again. Tylenol seems to help.

Sue: Sounds like your baby shower went well.

One of my friends just had her 2nd baby Saturday evening. Her oldest is 2 weeks younger than Kaleigh.

Jeanne: Glad you had a good weekend at work and that you got to see Dodger dog.

Julie: Where has the summer gone?

Just trying to wash some things up so I can pack them. We still don't have a moving date so we don't know what to tell the post office or the movers or anyone else. That part is frustrating.

Good Morning!!

We ordered the wedding cake this weekend. It is going to be in the shape of a castle. How fun is that!!

Glad everyone is safe Denine! Like usual you are totally on the ball now with the packing and moving.

I am so ready for the cruise. Wonder how the cruise went last week with the hurricane.

Hi to everyone
Barb

Barb, the cake sounds so perfect. Heidi and I are so excited for the wedding. It better be good weather because you know how the snow is on Monument Hill. I am sooo looking forward to it.

Julie, I will try the green tea tonight. I bought the bottle and Heidi bought tea bags. Hopefully we can all meet out in the parking lot at the DCL terminal. Heidi needs to meet all my DIS family. That would be pretty funny if she met Barb and family in FL when they live here.

Susan, I knew that you were busy but I just thought that I would take a stab at it.

Denine, I KNOW that you are BUSY but it is a fun busy.......meaning that at the end you will have that big huge house to enjoy.

Jeanne, glad you survived the work shifts! Sounds like you actually enjoyed going to work. Dodger dog sure loves his mommy! We love you here too!!!!! We got our passport a couple of months ago. Glad we did it. We were able to save some money with Ted working at the City. Trying to talk Heidi into getting one too with the discount. I have tons of birthdays and anniversaries coming up too at the end of Aug. I better write them all down and go to the Hallmark store.

I need help buying Noah a birthday gift. He is turning 6. Doesn't play with toys. Loves computer games and anything challenging. A gift certificate is hard at this age and so is money. Help!!

I have lost 4.4 pounds. I am very excited but I know that it is just water weight in the beginning. The worst is yet to come.

Hi Sandy!!

I am so happy that you and Heidi are planning on coming.
I am really praying for nice weather!

I started making the reception goodies. I won't tell you what they are so they will be a surprise. :)

I just made our reservation for 10/10 hotel night. We are staying at Shades of Green for one night then changing to Beach club villas for the rest of the week then after the cruise we are staying at Saratoga. Wow are we getting a varity of hotels this vacation!

Barb

Really happy with my shopping spree - bought Derek's girlfriend Diana a pale pink cape & matching pocketbook. I hope she likes the gifts. Got Joey (my cousin's son who used to live with me) an American Eagle sweater, & ring & two t-shirts, bought some earrings on sale & sexy underwear (just because I felt like it!).

SANDY: I found that 4.4 lbs. you lost!

DENINE: You must be SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO excited moving into a brand new house.

Weddings, cruises, new houses, how much more can we take:scared1: Hope you all are safe & sound. The morning started out with rain but now it is just hot & humid. Have a great evening. Toodles :wave2: :earsgirl: JEANNE

Barb, Ted keeps forgetting  about the wedding. So when Heidi and I talk about the wedding the 3 of us are going to in Dec. ihe is always puzzled. Makes me laugh.

Jeanne, just changed my airline flight. They kept toying with my time on Oct 21 and I just don't want to come in too late so we will be arriving at 10 pm on Wed Oct 20. Gives us more time. I can't wait. The best part is that they did it for FREE. We wanted to leave earlier but they only fly to Orlando once on Wednesdays so we didn't have a choice. This whole afternoon has been geared towards changing all the old ressies so I am now more psyched than ever. I was able to keep the same price at RonJon's. It has gone up so I was a little nervous about that one. BUT, car rental DOUBLED. OUCH!!!!!

Gotta run.

Hi guys, I found this on another thread. MAYBE there will be more chances for all of you to sail out of CA or even the Panama Canal.

This article was posted by Euphscott on the main board but VERY interesting.. FYI....

A Mouseketrips Mouseke-tip: There's more to meet the eye when the Disney Cruise Line heads west
Disney travel expert Scott Liljenquist offers some hints about what to expect next summer when the "Disney Magic" makes its way out to the Port of Los Angeles.
by Scott Liljenquist

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Most of you know by now that the Disney Cruise Line will, for the first time, be visiting the West Coast next year. As part of the Disneyland's 50th anniversary celebration, the "Disney Magic" will be moved from its home port of Port Canaveral, Florida and will take up residence at the Port of Los Angeles for 12 weeks during the summer of 2005. What you might not know, however, is that the West Coast cruises than are developing into far more of a story than first meets the eye. A little history first. The Disney Cruise Line got its start in 1995 when Disney's contract with the Premier Cruise Line expired. Premier operated its "Big Red Boat" under a 1985 licensing agreement with Disney that allowed Premier to use Disney characters aboard the ship and offer packages which combined their cruises with vacations at Walt Disney World. After seeing the popularity of these cruises, and not being entirely happy with the quality and conditions of Premier's cruises, Disney decided to launch its own cruise line with two nearly identical ships, both built by the Fincantieri Shipyard of Venice, Italy. The "Disney Magic" had its maiden voyage in 1998, and the "Disney Wonder" set sail in 2000.

Disney's original intention was to eventually have a fleet of 10 ships offering cruises all over the world, each featuring the little extras and Disney "magic" that distinguish its theme parks and attractions. In fact, both of the current Disney ships were designed to fit through the Panama Canal so that future cruise itineraries could be accommodated. However, the events of the past few years including September 11, wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, and the worldwide economic downturn have at least seriously delayed these ambitious plans. In fact, for a while it looked like Disney might remain at the status quo with its two ships and their Caribbean cruise itineraries.

Enter Matt Ouimet. Named as the president of the Disneyland Resort in October, 2003, Ouimet replaced the departing Cynthia Harriss. One of the oft-rumored reasons for Ms. Harriss' departure from Disneyland was her fantastically underwhelming plans for Disneyland's 50th anniversary celebration. Disney executives, faced with these lackluster plans, wanted to find someone who could really add some excitement to the anniversary celebration. At the same time, they were still looking for a way to expand the cruise line as per their original plans. Mr. Ouimet was carefully groomed and selected to succeed Ms. Harriss and be the next overseer of the California resorts.

Why him? Well, it just so happens that the job Mr. Ouimet left to head west to Disneyland was president of the Disney Cruise Line. With a former cruise line exec now firmly in charge in southern California, what better and easier way could Disney find to inject some excitement into the 50th anniversary and to test the waters for an expanded Disney Cruise Line than to announce a series of cruises originating from Los Angeles during the 2005 celebration? And what better way to design, execute, and coordinate the two events than to have a guy in charge who knows both the cruise and theme park sides of the business?

So, during the press event held on May 5, 2004, Disney officially announced the 2005 West Coast Mexican Riviera cruises. An announcement made by none other than Matt Ouimet himself. An announcement that, as you'll see, only told us part of the story.

So, how has the West Coast experiment worked? On May 5, which was the first day that the West Coast cruises could be booked, Disney Cruise Line's telephone system was swamped. Wait times to speak to a Disney Cruise Line reservationist were well over 3 hours. The two 14-night "repositioning" cruises, which will move the Magic from Port Canaveral to Los Angeles and back were completely booked within 3 days, and have been completely sold and unavailable for months. As of the writing of this article, there is quad-occupancy (4 people in one room) space available on only 2 of the 12 West Coast sailing dates, everything else is completely sold out. The West Coast cruises on average are at about 85% capacity with 9 months still remaining until the sailings even begin. No discounts have or will be offered on any of the West Coast cruises, and staterooms have been selling briskly at the highest price tier since shortly after bookings began. (Disney offers several price "tiers" for staterooms, with prices increasing as the ship fills up).

Which brings us to the part where things start to get really interesting. Even with the massive popularity of these West Coast cruises, one of the sail dates during the summer of 2005 has not been publicized at all. It has not shown up on the cruise line website. It has not been mentioned in any cruise line literature. In fact, the only way to book it up until now has been to call the cruise line and ask for the date specifically. It's almost like Disney has been trying to keep this sailing a secret. On July 17, 2005, there will be a 6-night cruise departing from Los Angeles, following the same route and itinerary of the 7-night cruises with the exception of the deletion of the port of Puerto Vallarta.

(By the way, this 6-night cruise is good news for those of you who still might be interested in a West Coast Disney cruise but have not been able to get a booking due to availability or price. As of now, availability on the 6-night cruise is excellent, and prices have not yet reached the highest tier. If you're looking to participate in the first-ever Disney Cruise Line sailings on the West Coast, this may be your last good opportunity. Anyway…)

Wait a minute, you're saying, why a 6-night cruise? Well, normally the West Coast Cruises will run from Saturday to Saturday. However, on Saturday, July 16th, 2005, the Disney Magic will remain in port for what's being described as a "special press event". The ship will then set sail on Sunday, July 17th after the completion of this event. Nobody will say officially what's going to happen at this special event on July 16th, but the clues are starting to fall in place.

Negotiations to build a third Disney cruise ship have been ongoing for many, many months. Disney originally approached the Fincantieri Shipyard and asked for a third copy of the Disney cruise ship. Fincantieri was only too happy to oblige, but wanted $100 million more for the new ship than the price tag for the "Magic" and "Wonder." Balking at this huge increase in cost, Disney has been quietly shopping the bid to several different shipbuilders over the past year. Now, according to a usually reliable source, there have been several recent trips by cruise line executives back and forth to Italy for meetings with several of these shipbuilders, including Fincantieri Shipyards.

Now let's connect the dots. Matt Ouimet, former president of the Disney Cruise Line, moves to California and becomes president of Disneyland. Disney Cruise Line announces West Coast cruises during Disneyland's 50th anniversary. West Coast cruises are very popular and sell out quickly at full rack rate. One West Coast cruise is not publicized because it's shortened by one day for some kind of "special press event" to be held on its normal sailing date. The "Disney Magic" is held in the port of Los Angeles on a Saturday for this "special press event". No details about the "special press event" are available. Clandestine negotiations occur between Disney and several Italian shipyards.

According to the very best information we have to date, we anticipate that the Disney Cruise Line will announce -- on July 16, 2005, from on board the "Disney Magic" in the port of Los Angeles -- the addition of a third ship to the Disney fleet. This yet-unnamed ship will set sail in 2007, and will operate from the port of Los Angeles during the summer months and join its sister ships for Caribbean cruises in the winter. This additional ship will also allow Disney to add more special cruises to its schedule, such as the wildly popular 10-night Christmas cruise and itineraries to other destinations not currently served by Disney Cruise Line.

Remember that you heard it here first, folks.

Hi everyone! Just doing my normal checking in.

Sandy, WAY TO GO ON THE 4.4 lbs!!!!! You are doing a great job!!!!! Have you tried the tea yet?

Hey everyone, did you know that they did away with the tropical and mexican nights on the cruises!! It is now a Pirate theme on both cruises. I saw a copy of the menu and most of the dishes look the same but renamed. :pirate:

Susan, how was Turner's first day of the new school year? Makenzie starts in 10 days!

Denine, I knew the Tribe couldn't hold on! Hopefully they will do better. tonight wasn't the come back either!

Nothing else is exciting around here. I'll be more chatty tomorrow. I've got another headache and all 3 kids seem to have some kind of stuffy nose. I think Brooke's is related to her top teeth coming in.

Barb, are you getting door signs for the cruise? Denine has hers and it looks great!

Hi Jeanne!! Have I told you lately that you are a sweetie:wave:

Well, have a great Tuesday!!!

Woman, where are you ?

TOMORROW WILL BE MY 1000 POST!!!!! And you know it will be here with my family!!!! :earsgirl:

OK, I couldn't wait......................................

HAPPY 1000 POST!!!!!!

I wanted to post my 1000 post here! Something so little is so big when you share it with family!!:earsgirl: :earsboy:

Like my new avatar? I'm taking suggestions for different ones, so if anyone has any ideas that would "fit me" let me know!

I was thinking of this one too:

a_villans3.jpg

Sandy, thanks for the information in your post. It sounds interesting!

Julie, I love your new Tigger avatar. I think you should keep it. Happy 1000 posts!!

Turner's first day of school was good. He did get a little homework assigned and (here's where I faint) he went to study hall on his own at afterschool and did it!!! I think this is the beginning of a great year! If only he can keep it up!

After dinner we all pitched in and did yardwork - mowing, trimming, edging, etc. We have had so much rain the past week or so with Bonnie and Charley and a couple of fronts passing through. But, at least it is done now!

Turner has try-outs for hockey for this new travel season next week. Didn't we just finish hockey??

Oh well. Enough from me. I have to get ready for work. Take care everyone.

Love ya.

Later!

Good Morning!

Wow interesting new Sandy. That is So cool. Sure made me glad I have our reservations for the 14 day cruise. I have you Heidi and Ted in my guestimated count. So tell Ted that he needs to put it on his calander!

Julie- I have magnets too. I ordered them for all my family. I think we ordered about 12 in all. I love them. I also have some for the 14 day cruise hanging on my refridgerator. I hope they don't fade before Aug 2005.

Barb

Good morning all.

Julie, we tried Heidi's tea bag last night and thought that I could do it. We will share the bottle tonight.CONGRATULATIONS! on your 1000th post. Glad you shared it with the rest of us. I love your tigger. keep that one! Yes, I had read about the pirate themed night. What to wear, what to wear, hmmmmmm.

Susan, congrats on the individual homework. Maybe he will keep it up. Do you think??? At least you didn't get swept away with all that rain!

Barb, do you think that the magnets will fade? Gosh, I hope not. Heidi and I are planning to make ours for this cruise soon. We have the Panama magnets on the refrigerator. Wow, your next cruise is going magnet crazy. Wish I could see them for ideas for Heidi and I.

Gotta run and take my shower. I get both kids today for a month. Julie, I might end up with one of your headaches today.

Barb, I forgot to say one thing. If you ever have trouble with "numbers", DO NOT HESITATE to take our name off the wedding list. We would SURELY understand. I remember how we had to be careful because the chapel would only seat so many and I know that Pinecrest said it on their website.

WHERE IS PATTI/PATTY??????? Come out come out wherever you are.

Sandy-you are on the "VIP" guest list if I have to shorten the guest list I will get rid of the "Riff Raff" ;)

I really don't expect that many people. With the wedding being 6 days before Christmas I don't think we will get many out of town people. I added up the people I expect to come last night and came up with about 50 people. I am planning for 60 right now.
I decided to make 25 more reception favors. I have 50 made now.

Barb

Sandy: Way to go on the weigfht loss. I have to weigh in tomorrow and probably gained. I am probably the only person in the world that can gain weight on a diet pill!

Julie: I love the new Tigger! Congrats on your 1000th post!

Sue: I hope Turner keeps it up! You will never be done with hockey!

Barb: A castle cake, how wonderful. I have seen those on the Disney wedding specials on the food channel. I wanna get married again at Disney, to Jerry of course.

Everyone around here is frustrated. Jerry can't seem to find anyone that knows when we will close on the new house, hence we don't know when we are moving even though we close on this house on the 15th. I am frustrated because no matter how much I pack, there is more to do. And, Kaleigh is frustrated because mommy doesn't have time to play with her. Ollie is probably frustrated too!

Is it cruise time yet????????

Anybody watching the olympics? We do a little when we get the chance. Last night, it was in between commercials while watching the Tribe.

Just checking in to say "Hi". Sorry I've kind of abandoned checking in daily. Please email me with the BIG stuff.

School is started and so far .. Ok. I thought Katie would have been the hard one since she started middle school, but Cody is struggling with getting back into the 'paying attention' groove.
Trying to keep the number of things I volunteer for down to less than last year.

Hugs to all and I hope everyone is doing well. Love ya, Lori

Yeah Lori posted! I thought you guys went back to school already! Let us know how things go! Cody will be back to normal before you know it.

Nothing too fun here. I cleaned and that's about it. All three kids are still "sick". All have runny and stuff noses.

I'll check back in later! Big Brother is on tonight!!!!!
