We are still in the deep freeze, it is 2 outside. They cancelled school again. The only school not closed yesterday was an Amish school. The thing is, all the kids were at the mall or the zoo or out sledding or something. SO much for "protecting" them from the elements!

Barb: Hope you find out soon about your knee.

Sandy: I am so jealous. I want to get out of this freezer!

Well, we thought the finances were tight before, but we just got the insurance statement for my last injection yesterday. We OWE $1400. YIKES! They charged $5000. If I knew it was going to be that much, I wouldn't have had it. The pain has improved from it, but it is not gone, so I can't say it was worth it. So, now our OCtober trip is in serious jeopardy.

Julie: We will be there on Saturday for the Big Guy's party.

At least Kaleigh is not snippy today, so far. She has been getting to play with a lot of kids lately.

Hi Jeanne: Come out and play more often.

Off to dinner at Jerry's mom's tonight.

Ok tell me how this sounds. Tiffany and her friends will be here in March here is what I am planning:

Sunday: Easter dinner complete with egg dying, egg hunt and baskets.
Since the girls will be back in school on Easter they will still get the normal Easter
Monday: The girls are going shopping then we will have spa night at home. Facial and pedicures
Tuesday:Garden of the Gods and sight seeing
Wednesday: Scrapbook day. They want to make a page of their trip. Then Pizza and "Lost" night.
Thursday: Pirate Night complete with pirate food, decorations and watch the movie Pirates of the Caribbean and the chocolate fountain.
Friday: Casa Bonita for lunch then to the church for a over night with the Missionettes.

I am going to have shirts made for them with "Spring Break 2007" and magnets for their dorm room door since the doors are metal and they will stick. Heidi do you have any ideas what the magnets should look like???

Heidi.....I heard about a wedding yesterday that sounded nice. Criss's boss' daughter got married and had a very expensive wedding. She had two or three flower girls and they wore angel wings....Criss said they were so cute.

It is going to be another nice day....the snow is really melting....just the big piles left and no snow in the forecast...

You are going to have two more trips to do so you need to get caught up. I am working on my 5th trip....only 3 more to go. I have one more than you do because of going with Linda.

I put my Valentine tree up last night. I have a 4 ft tree in a pot and got some red heart ornaments at Hobby Lobby . I also got Easter egg lights for my Easter tree. I love trees with lights and it is a good excuse to have one up.

Mom-have you gotten your airline tickets for Disney yet? The price is still around $200 out of Denver but the flight times are getting horrible. 11:30 at night leaving. I am going to get our tickets this weekend.

I know this is stupid, but I am upset.

I found my Lincoln Logs from when I was a kid. I gave them to Kaleigh last weekend. The box was in great shape and I still have the sheet that tells you how to build stuff. Kaleigh just broke the box. She sat on it. How can I have something for that many years and have it be in perfect shape and she breaks it in less than a week??? She apologized, but that doesn't put the box back together.

I hate it when people break my stuff.

Barb, I too, thought of you all night wondering if you got the news on your knee. Your schedule for the girls sounds PERFECT! Your airline tickets are a good deal. I would be willing to fly out there that late! Is it from the Springs or DIA?

Sally, I am envious of your tree. That sounds great. I have always wanted to decorate trees for holidays. I love clear lights!

Denine, sorry about your lincoln logs! I know how you feel. I was sad that Noah and Graci break things that have gone through my kids and 4 daycare kids! WOW oh WOW, that injection was EXPENSIVE! Sounds like your deep freeze is there for about a week. SORRY!

Jeanne, send me a picture of Zoe in the mail and Heidi can post it for you. We are all dying to see her! This trip was very unexpected and not planned. I am so paying for it now trying to run around getting things done. I even have to look for some skirts because mine are a little tight now if you remember the last cruise.

Denine, SO, I'm punishing my kids for sending them to school huh? Since you threatened Kaleigh about sending her, my kids must be horrible! LOL! I must say that this super freeze is NOT what I like!

Like Denine posted, schools were closed again today because of the windchill. The reason they close our schools here is because of the before and after school care. We can not use the "delay 2 hours" because of the before school care. A lot of schools close because IF one child gets frost bite while waiting for their bus, the school board will NEVER hear the end of it and someone WOULD file a law suit. It is said that it has come to that, but that's the way people are these days. PLUS several parents just drop their kids off at the bus stops WAY before they should, but they would be the ones who would hold the schools accountable for something IF something happened. SO, that is why they cancel instead of other options. That's just the way they do things around here I guess. But, with a windchill in the -teens, I don't or wouldn't let my kids out in this weather. It's nuts! LOL!

WELL, to be the bearing of bad news... (like you couldn't tell in the top portion of this post) Garry's dad is coming home tomorrow from the hospital. The cancer has spead and there is no other treatment they can give him. He has lost all feeling in both of his legs and his bowels are shutting down. Hospice met with Dad, Linda and myself this morning. They will keep him pain-free as much as possible. His cancer dr. told Linda and I that dad has ONLY 1 maybe 2 weeks left. He is coming home to die. It has been VERY hard on myself since this is the first time I have had to deal with something like this and EXTREMELY EXTREMELY HARD on Garry. This is the same time of year 20 yrs ago when he lost his mother to cancer. Gotta try and line up people to watch and drop off kids to and from school. His dad told me that when "it" is near, he wants his family by his side. So who knows what will be happening next week. Just wanted you all to know what is going on around here.

Julie, I know how tough it is going to be for you and Gary. They told us my mom would live 6 months and she died a few days after she got home. She had cancer also and I had to keep telling myself she was so much better off than living with the pain but it doesn't make it any easier for the ones left behind. I will be praying for you and your family for the peace that surpasses all understanding.

Sandy, have a great time on your trip. Sometimes the unexpected trips turn out the best.

Julie-So sorry about Garry's father. Wish I was there to help with the kids. Boy if we were all in the same city you would not have to worry about the kids at all.

My results were sent off to some doctor in Ohio. I hope I find out soon.

I am sooo tired. I have been on pain killers for a while. I am trying to do a training and can hardly stay awake.

Once Jaymee gets out of tech school and is home for 10 days before she has to report to her first base I am going to have Bob, Jaymee and Jason picture taken in their uniforms. Actually it was Jaymee's idea.

Oh my gosh Julie. What can I say? This will be a horrible time for you. I know the hospice visit is very emotional. My heart goes out to you and especially Garry. Hugs to the family.

Julie: I am sorry. I knew talking to you the other day that it had probably spread. Let us know if we can do anything for you. We are only 30 minutes away! Don't hesitate to call.

You are not punishing your kids by sending them to school. Kaleigh keeps saying she wants to go to "real" school, but it is only because she wants to ride the bus. She would be on the bus for 2 hours every day if we sent her to school. SHe didn't like that or the fact she would be in school longer than she is.
