October 19th Cruisers again and again... Part 2

Hi all! It has been a crazy 2 days around here! Makenzie didn't have school yesterday due to the crazy weather but by yesterday afternoon it was half gone!!! Today it is around 55 degrees (so far) and most of the snow is gone and everything is wet!!!! I don't think the ground can take anymore.


Heidi, aren't mom's the greatest???? SO, what are the baby shower favors??

Sandy, you are such a sweet person and super mom!!!

Denine, I hope you had a nice birthday. We are going to Disney on the 8th and coming back on the 23rd. SO if you guys can go for few days it would be great! Makenzie's party will be on Sat. 7th. I believe we are going to have it begin around 3:30pm/4pm. ( it will depend on the weather and Garry's schedule). I'll let you know on the exact time.

Julie - The party favors are 2 tealight candles wrapped in either blue or pink Tuelle, inside I put baby themed confetti, and is tied off with Blue/Pink ribbon that says its a boy or its a girl and attached to the ribbon is either a blue or pink pacifier charm with a poem. The poem says something like.....

"Here are 2 candles for you to light,
once the stork has made his flight.
With the flicker of the flames,
say a prayer in the babies names."

It took forever to make 36 of these, the confetti kept sticking to me and it was impossible for me to tie the small bows so my mom had to tie all the bows!!!!

DInner last night was yummy. We had the twice baked lasagna with meatballs, my favorite. I only ate half and brought the rest home. We did order dessert, chocolate cake. The server put a candle on it for my birthday, but didn't sing. (thank goodness!)

Today I am going down to 21 points per day instead of 22. I am at a standstill, so I am hoping this will help.

Sandy: We have rain in the forecast for the next 10 days. The ground is saturated. We have now had the snowiest December and April on record and 3rd snowiest January.

So, what are the baby shower favors?

That is the one thing I really missed out on. I really wanted a baby shower, but Kaleigh had other ideas and was in the hospital that day. We got the nice gifts, but no party.

Julie: I will mark the 7th on my calendar and tell Jerry the June dates. SO what about getting together besides a party or vacation?

I got my last e-bay purchase in the mail today. NOw, if we can get the motivation to start doing some work around here.

I need the cruise! Or at least a day off!! Well, at least I think I filled one of my open positions, HR was supposed to make the offer today...say a prayer because this nurse is a gem! Then I heard that another that left the company 2 months ago to back to bedside nursing decided that she is just too old for that anymore and wants to sit at a desk again! I am trying to grab her! Say a prayer for that one!!

The weather is miserable here too . Worked yesterday & it was nice & sunny , raining my day off & will probably be nice Thursday & Friday when I work & rain again on the weekend when I am off. The weather throughout the country is crazy

Happy birthday Faith!

It poured rain again yesterday, supposed to rain this afternoon.

No gain or loss in the weight department. I did manage to do the TM yesterday.

How to I get Kaleigh to go back into her crib? I put her down for a nap and I just heard her scraming a few minutes ago. Her leg was stuck between the slats. SHe thinks it is the beds fault and won't go back in. She is in the living room watching Sleeping Beauty now. I sure hope I don't have problems tonight. She really needs her nap and I am hoping she will go back in a little bit.

We take Jazz to the vet this afternoon.

Bonnie: Good luck with getting you new employees.

We managed to put up the towel bars in Kaleigh's bathroom yesterday, so 1 room is DONE!

Nothing else going on.

Sandy, baby shower on the 14th...hmmm I wish I could make a weekend visit!!! I'd love to come!!!!

Denine, when are you guys available to get together? I will look at Garry's schedule to see when he has off. His other sgt.on shift is in a 2 week school and so Garry is stuck working a lot of days with only a day off here and there.


Ok, the Amazing Race trophy might be staying with Heidi! If Joyce and Uchena (sp) win, no one has them so the trophy will stay with Heidi until we have another contest. Don't loose the trophy in the move!! LOL!

Just me today. Heidi woke up with a terrible migraine today and decided to stay home. I don't think she has moved from the couch.

Thanks for all the nice things said about me. The favors are so cute. I love the poem.

Denine, I forgot to check what I lost. I will do it later. Poor Kaleigh and the crib. Maybe it is time for a big girl bed. Put the mattress on the floor tonight if she won't go back in it and she can sleep there. You might have difficulties for a couple of days but she will learn to stay in her big bed. Don't start her sleeping in your bed!!

Julie, Heidi never did get a trophy. I sure hope Susan didn't mail it and it is lost!! Sure you can come to the shower. Ask your mom to babysit for the kids and you could have a FREE weekend!

Jeanne, I am not sure if Faith lurks or not. I posted hoping to see if she would come out. She called me yesterday. Everyone is healthy. They want to go to Hawaii on Celebrity in April 2007. Is anyone interested? Nothing definite with them on that either.

We are going to Del Taco tonight to meet 2 DISers. I think it will be fun. Someone started a thread about CO cruisers and a store that sells pirate stuff and it has taken off.

I think that Barb and Sally come home today. Hope they had a good trip and that Missy is doing fine. Barb, if you read this on the other CO thread someone thought they were the only Springs people. I told them that you guys were in Oregon. You might want to check it out.

Better run and put my lime green shirt on for tonight.

Bonnie, sounds like things are coming together for work. Hopefully it won't be so stressful for you anymore. No, we didn't meet DenverVal. We met Tera (Teresa) and DCLcruiser. They are not from the Panama Canal cruise thread. I can't tell you how much fun we had last night. It was full of laughs. DCLcruiser is very knowledgeable about the ship so he was fun to talk to. There are quite a few others that couldn't make it last night.

Had a rough day yesterday...all this stress caused a huge migraine for me, but thankfully I slept all day and was able to go meet some other DISers. Had fun, but made us miss all of you even more.

I close on the house tomorrow and then it will be all mine!!! My realitor called me yesterday to let me know that the seller didn't want anything that was left there so she was wondering if I wanted free presents...of course!!!! So I gained a futon, a queen bed and 2 desk like table things!!!! I was excited!!

Kaleigh never napped yesterday, but thankfully, she went to bed last night without a problem and is currently napping. I am just rying to hold off a while longer on the big girl bed.

Took care of Jazz's tape worms yesterday and he and Hera have both been treated for fleas preventatively. She goes on Monday for her eye.

Bonnie: I hope you get those positions filled.

Julie: We are available every Saturday in June, plus May 14th and the 28th. We can also do weekdays. Jerry is still deciding about WDW.

Did the TM 2 days in a row now. Yesterday was interesting with Kaleigh in the basement with me.

It rained yesterday and today and more rain is in the forecast for the week. I can't get any May flowers if I can't plant! The grass needs to be cut again too.

I work tomorrow, so I won't be on until evening.

OMG, we had 81...(yes 81) kids today for Take your child to work day. That was insane!!! These girls adored me and were constantly at my feet all day long, and when I would try to walk I would trip on them because they all wanted to be so close to me!!! They gave me a big hug when they left....makes me miss working at the daycare, too bad they can't pay me the same salary!!!!

Well, the positions. The one I really like balked at the salary we are offering, I don't blame her so I bumped it up to the Director and Sr. Director. We'll see. The other one left me a message saying she could start Monday if I wanted!! Of sourse our HR rep is dragging his feet! Pain in my butt!

Take your kids to work day...one nurses daughter fell asleep under her desk!

Denine- I guess all your snow is gone if you are talking of planting. We will have rain again this weekend. Oh well.

Hey Bonnie,why don't you stop in Cleveland on your way to Denver and you can pick me up! Could you see the 2 of us on an airplane together? Boy we would have a blast!!!!!!

Well, I got our plane tickets for June today. IT wasn't as bad as I thought. We had 43.50 vouchers for 4 of the tickets due to the ticket problem last October (we bought the tickets then the dropped the price like 50-100 dollars so I went to the airline and complained, they said nope nothing they could do and that was that. BUT I got the difference without paying the "change of ticket price". I guess they could do something.... ). SO, 4 of the 5 tickets ended up costing the same price as they were in Oct. Not too bad. We are flying non-stop on Continetal.( the only way to fly with kiddos under 6!) Knock on wood that they do great like they did the last several times we flew. Now we can see how this "check your luggage at your home airport and see it in your room at Disney". This free service this year should be interesting. This would be great for us if we didn't have to go to luggage claim with all of the kids and just went on to disney!!!! We are going a day (well half a day5:00 pm) on June 7th but our ressies for Boardwalk are for the 8th. I did this because it was 200.00 yes 200.00 dollars cheaper to go the evening before. GO figure! SO we will probably stay at the Swan/Dolphin for the first night OR the Marriot World Center (my choice would be the Swan or Dolphin).

Heidi, who wouldn't want to hang around you?? You are such a sweetie!!!

OK....WHEN'S THE NEXT WINE CHAT?????????

Well, gonna go. I have had a migraine all day today that made me sick to my stomach. It was right behind my eyes, up behind the bridge of my nose (if that makes sense to anyone). Doesn't help when you have an end of the year conference for the Big Guy, a volunteer brunch for Makenzie, get the inserts for the Big Guy's shoes, pick up the tickets for the trip, and get dinner for the kids and Garry before he had to go to work. It has lightened up a lot but it's still there ready to make another appearance.

Julie, you are just so sweet. You started Heidi and I off crying this morning with your post. You made us realize even more how much each and everyone of you mean to the two of us. I never thought of the camera so I am happy YOU did! Hope your migraine is better. Heidi is doing better with hers. I tired so hard last week for a wine chat and didn't have any takers except Denine (and I didn't get that until too late).

Bonnie, I say do it! Come out to Denver. And if possible Julie you too. I already told Stacey that you might show up!!

It is snowing. Good thing that we aren't moving Heidi this week. (Probably wouldn't matter anyway with her few things ) It will be a family painting occasion. Chris, Heidi, Ted, Sandy, Richard (my SIL), my niece, my brother, maybe nephew and sister in law too. None of us should do things together as we have waaaay too much fun when we get together. Lookout, poor Heidi!

I am once again concerned about Susan. Hope Turner and her brothe are ok.

Hi Everyone!

Got home around 11:00pm on Wednesday. I stayed home yesterday and unpacked. Missy and I went to lunch. She was miserable.

Guess What!!!!! Her water broke this morning!! She is at the hospital and I am stuck at work. Since her contactions have not started I am trying to stay at work as long as possible. Jaymee and Tiffany took her to the hospital and Jaymee is keeping me updated. They just started her on a IV. Looks like today will be the day.

My Mom is on the road still, they should be home late tonight. My Mom and Dad both did ok in Reno. So I am happy for them. Not huge winnings but enough to cover the cost of the trip. We had a wonderful time. My brother really seriously does live on the tip top of a mountain. One day we cut down trees then we spent another day at the Redwood forest in California, had 2 bon fires and made stepping stones. It was a fun spending time with a lot of my family.
