Oh my gosh Barb, us actually going to meet in person....no that can't be possible!!! I hope it works out because I would love to put a face with the name like I can with everybody else now!!!!

Barb: You make me laugh, superwoman, indeed. Glad you got the 1st performance under your belt.

I lost 2 more pounds!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I notice it in my pants, but not in the mirror.

I have decided on colors for the laundry room, our bathroom, the living room and kitchen. Now we just need to start painting. Of course, we need to buy paint first. I think we may do that tonight.
The living room and kitchen are connected by a soffit that is about 12" long. I am going to put up a piece of molding to physically separate the 2 rooms so I can paint them slightly different colors. I really didn't want the darker color in my kitchen.

Making corned beef and potatoes for dinner tomorrow. Today is calzones and a salad.

Jerry will be working from home tomorrow to avoid the crazy parade crowds and NCAA crowds.

Heidi: Glad you got rid of your problem child. I learned how to play chess as a child, but never was interested in it. I don't have that much energy to do all that thinking.

Sandy: Glad you guys got some moisture for your yards. I hope it stays away from here! I need to lost 3 more pounds and I drop 2 points from my intake. Not looking forward to that part of it. I am looking forward to wearing smaller sizes and j ust fitting into clothes I already have. When I get to 15 pounds lost, I am going to try on my pink halter dress.

Jeanne: At least you won't be short pay.

Yeah!

My living room curtains just arrived! Maybe we will also be going to Home Depot for curtain rods.

Good Job Denine, you are doing so good on your weight loss!!! Congrats!!!

Mom - did you hear Denine, she is having calzones tonight...why can't I have it tonight and on Sunday? Do I really have to wait for Sunday to eat your calzones? Maybe I can just go to Denine's for dinner!!!

I lost another 2 pounds too! Time to celebrate! I didn't think I was going to but woke up this morning to a fantastic weigh in. I am only 16 pounds from goal. I am only 6 pounds from the original goal I had set for myself. Talk about being excited! Way to go, Denine! You go girl!!

Heidi, Dad and I can go Saturday. Can you? I haven't checked the website yet for times. You HAVE to wait until Sunday for calzones. Sorry! I am having a WW frozen pizza. I thought that would be perfect so I can have the same flavors as the rest of you.

Jeanne, GREEN Beer? Ewwwww! I hate BEER! I need sissy drinks.

Hi Barb! Where is Sally? Out in the yard or painting inside the house?

Good job mommy, congratulations.

What time Saturday? Chris and I had plans but I could maybe talk him out of it.

Hi Sandy way to go with the weight loss!! You are awesome!!

Mom has been really sick. She has got that virus that is really bad. She has been really sick for about a week. I also talked to Patty today she is really sick with the same thing and Missy has it too! Missy won't take anything because of Ethan.

Heidi it would be SO FUN to meet!! I hope you can come down for The Thorn!!!!

I have to tell you about something really special. My bosses daughter has been dealing with cancer the past 2 years. She is through the worst of it. She was chosen as a Make a Wish Kid and will be going on a Disney cruise in June. I had written to Verandaman about getting some door magnets made for them. I am going to make them some goodie bags and wanted to include the magnets that he makes. He wrote back to me right away he is going to be doing some really special things for them. Andy is such a kind wonderful man. I cried when I read his email, in fact I am still crying.

Barb

DudetteTwo BONNIE: Joyce is a NO GO to the Spring Fling since she has to work the next day & she loses an hour sleep that night (spring forward) but I am still thinking about it. JEANNE[/QUOTE said:
Oh dear...what date is the spring fling????? I am afraid I may have volunteered that night for the National Adoption Center Gala...OOPs if it is April 22...

Paul so sorry to hear about your friend! What a terrible tragedy.

Julie=tried to callyou as I walked to the train but no answer...how is your dad doing? With by pass surgery even though they have blood thinners during the surgery there can be small blood clots...many people have problems with strokes etc because of it.

Well...Monday didn't happen...postponed til tomorrow...we'll see

A;; my associates hate me...MY bosses love me though...which is better? Popular with the crew or be the witch and get the job done...or attempt to!

I have not had a piece of candy in 3 days now!!! TRYING to stick to a diet!!! Need to stick to the diet! My mantra...diet, diet, diet...YUK!!!

Posting from home because...I have the night off :teeth:

I get to open my screen full size. I have reread some of the posts and see how much I missed. In the morning I open the board as a little tinnie tiny box because I am not suppose to be on the internet

Denine-Congratulations on the weight loss too. I missed that this morning!

Think we are going to settle in and watch a movie tonight. I am thinking one of the old Star Wars. Haven't watched them in ages. I LOVE space movies!!

Bonnie-Hi

Barb ::MickeyMo

Hi, everyone. Very, very busy as usual here. I am in a training calss all week and the instructors are from Colorado. One grew up in Littleton but doesn't know the Van Horne's. :( His loss!

Paul and his friend are going to Dave's funeral tomorrow. They are expecting over 1000 people and moved it to a local college. I'm not going since I am in a training class and it is hard to get out of it.

I wish I could come see The Thorn!!

Congrats on the weight loss to everyone. I didn't weigh in this week since I was at a different location for training. That gives me another week to make some progress.

Barb, can you share more details about the Make a Wish kid? I think that is great.

Heading to bed early. Too tired to think anymore for the day.

Miss you all.

Here's a quote since I haven't posted one in a while:

No matter where you go, there you are!

Later!

Yea, Susan posted. Good to hear from you. You haven't been far from my mind this week. I keep hearing about Paul's friend and then I think of poor Paul. Hope he knows that our thoughts are with him. What???? The trainer doesn't know us?? Now I feel bad. Isn't that funny that when you are exhausted....you just can't and don't want to think?

Atta girl Bonnie. Don't let anyone feed the sup! I am very proud of you. I know how difficult it can be to turn down candy!

Barb, sorry to hear about Sally and Patty. I hear it is nasty stuff to get over. Pixie dust their way!! VerandahMan IS a wonderful man with a huge heart. I bet it is rewarding for him that you asked.

Heidi, the next two Saturdays has performances for The Thorn. Both at 3:00. I was talking to Stacey yesterday and telling her about it and I forgot that I told her I would go to Castle Rock with her. She said don't worry.

Expecting Grace here soon. See ya.

HAPPY ST. PATRICK'S DAY!!! :bounce: :bounce: :flower2: :shamrock: :shamrock: :jumping2:

Today is my last day for the week (thank goodness for that!!!)

Barb - that is so sweet of you to put together a gift bag for them, you are just as sweet as Andy. Thats great that Andy can do that for you, the DIS is such a great place, you really do meet a lot of wonderful people!!!

Mom - Ya I forgot I told Stacey I would go with her too.....bad sister!!!

:shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock:

Heidi, I don't think that we should go this Saturday. Sorry Barb! It just isn't fair to Stacey. I didn't know that you were going too. Should be fun! Bad sister and bad mom! She just called me because Heather just cleaned her teeth and she was looking for the new Sonic out here. Yum, just last night I was saying I was hungry for them. Shame on her! Guess we will have to make a run for it, too.

Hi everyone!

I spoke to Loretta (Maddie's Mom) this morning and let her know about how wonderful
and caring everyone has been wanting to know about Maddie. Loretta gave her blessing
to send the details about what she, Maddie and Mike (Maddie's Dad) have and are still going through.

In Jan on 2004 Maddie was diagnosed with a cancer that sets in her lymphnodes . Loretta had a
big long name for what it is but there is no way I would ever be able to spell it. Maddie started
treatments in Feb. She has had many spinal taps and chemo which was giving her horrible headaches
and making her really sick. She lost her hair and for a 16 year girl this could be devastating enough
without everything else, although Maddie took it along with everything else in good spirits. On her
17th birthday she invited a few close friends to dinner. At the restaurant Maddie started having seizures
Loretta began to fear that were going to lose her. Loretta refused to let her precious daughter go and
even though Loretta was not sure Maddie could even hear her she kept telling her. "You are not going to leave me" Maddie reached up and said to Loretta, "I love you Mom" But God had other plans Maddie was rushed to the hospital
and later it was discovered that she had had a stroke. She came through it because of a strong loving
Mother and her very strong desire to go on. Maddie and Loretta are very very close. Loretta has been
Maddie's rock. She has spent many long hours laughing crying and dreaming with her daughter. This is
Maddie's senior year in school she was able to return to her school and has been very active in school
plays and school newspaper. She is going to attend college in Denver (not to far from Mom)
and has sites on being a theater teacher. She has been continuing her medication and spinal taps.
But has not allowed it to slow her down. She auditioned for and was offered a part in the school play
she is keeping very busy rehearsing, doing school work and also making plans for her senior Prom.
Maddie is a mircle and very loved by her friends and family.

Thank you for letting me share a piece of the life of this amazing young woman.

Barb

PS Loretta filled me in on the official name. I will have to cut and paste this one!
Lymphoblastic lymphoma it really is a mouthful.

Just coming back from lunch so I thought I would post real quick.

The Thorn is next Saturday too Sandy maybe you can make that one :teeth:

Heidi love the green post.

Barb

Wow Barb, what a great post, thanks for sharing her story with us. Brought tears to my eyes. That family has been through a lot, I am so glad they will be able to go on the DCL.

:shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock:
Happy St. Patrick's Day! :bounce:

We ate our corned beef and potatoes. Yummy!!!!!!!!! I thought Kaleigh wouldn't even touch the stuff and she loved it! Must be the Irish in her. I made clazones last night and she didn't want them. They were really yummy and only 5 points each.

We put up our living room curtains last night and bought some paint.

Barb: What a wonderful thing you are doing for Maddie. She has been through more than any young person needs to.

No green beer. I am with Sandy, can't stand the stuff. I will, however, be indulging in some Irish cream tonight. I still have weekly points left.

Sandy: You are so close now! Congrats!

If I can get to 30 pounds gone, then I want to lose 5 more to be even with the docs scale. They always weigh more than at home.

Sue: Glad to hear from you. Sorry you are stuck in a training class all week.

Hope that Sally and Patty get well soon.

Bonnie: If you did WW, you could have that piece of candy. Jerry and I have an ice cream sandwich every night. No feeling deprived.

Thanks for sharing Maddie's story. It is so touching to know Barb, Andy and DCL will bring some joy to her. I can't imagine what all she has been through at such a young age.

Here's a few more quotes:

If it feels good, don't do it!

Even the best of friends cannot attend each other's funeral.

Never ask a barber if you need a haircut. Never ask a salesman if his is a good price.

Anything is edible if it chopped finely enough.

People will buy anything that's one to a customer.

Nothing is never done for the right reasons.

The training class has really started getting interesting. I haven't been to a class this good in many years. The instructors are excellent. They really know the material and explain it so well. They have lots of quizzes but give out lots of prizes too. I have come home with a mice pen, a key chain, a water bottle, a calculator and a Starbuck's gift card so far. Supposedly the best prizes will be given out tomorrow. Unfortunately, they have had lots of candy and snacks all week too. I'm trying to stay away from those. These are the best incentives I have ever had at a training class.

Tomorrow is Friday!! Yippee!
Later!

Book my airfare for the cruise!! YEA!!! But I will get there on Wed not Friday.

Denine- I am following WW...I don't dare touch the candy since it is a weakness and can't stop at just one. I am better off without it.

Problem child gone. That's all I dare say...no comments please.

Great story Barb.

Talked to Julie today...dad still in hospital but on skiiled nursing floor going to PT, kidneys "weak" but they tell her they should get better. Possible infection in leg on IV antibiotics.

Trying to talk to mom and post at the same time...she does rattle on. And I have a headache to boot.

:drinking1 :drinking1 Went to a fun St.Patrick's Day Party :shamrock: :shamrock: :shamrock: last night after work at O'Reilly's Pub inside Valleybrook Country Club. Danced the night away but did have two Aspen Edge Beers & a chicken breast sandwich.

DENINE & SANDY: You two are doing so good on your diets!

It is so beautiful :sunny: today that I had to pick up the dogs so I would have a reason to go to the Park.

Talked with Bonnie last night but she is getting in much earlier then us on Wednesday at LAX but we are trying to work something out.

The story on Maddie was so heart wrenching. Andy seemed like he was a nice guy but this just confirms it.

Have a great day. Toodles  :genie: JEANNE
