October 19th Cruisers again and again... Part 2

Ok...time to get caught up. Things have been really hectic here. Last week we went to my in-laws cabin for a long weekend to work on their bathrooms. It wasn't a fun trip for either Richard or I, he worked and I was stuck inside a house with my kids for four days. It would have been easier if things were baby proof but we all know how that works.

We decided to put our cat to sleep on Monday. :sad1: He has diabetes and REALLY bad teeth. The vet told us it would cost around $700 to fix his teeth. On top of it all, he quit eating, most likely because of his teeth. The vet wanted to do an ultrasound that would have cost another $400. Unfortunately, we don't have that kind of money so we decided to put him out of his misery as tough as decision as it was. Yesterday the vet called Richard and asked if she could adopt our cat. She said she was a "sucker for fat cats". We let her adopt him so he can have a second chance. Out of anyone, the vet would be the best to adopt him. She has the money and tools to get done what needs to get done. So he was adopted out yesterday. I am having a really hard time but I know we did the right thing.

Barb- if you want you can pm me and I can tell you where I live. I don't feel comfortable posting that. From the north end of the Springs it takes about an hour to get to my house.

Good Morning Stacy!

I will pm you. I don't blame you for not wanting to share information openly.

I'm confused. Did you put the cat to sleep or was he adopted? I am glad the vet took pity on him.

Barb, didn't realize that you are at home. Can you actually work from home or did you have to take time? By the way, you never responded to me. Do you want to meet up for lunch one of these Fridays?? LOVE YOU!!

Yay, Stacey just called. She and the babies are coming over to hang out with Graci and I. How great is that for BOTH of us??

I want to hang out with the babies too...hmm I feel a migraine coming on. (ok I really do have a migraine today, but I keep taking medicine to lessen it).

Stace - Big hugs your way. I know you don't want me to do it in person, but I can do it through the internet right?

Barb - I agree with my mom, since we both have Fridays off we should meet half way for lunch. I am sure Stacey might want to come too.

Good Morning Again!

Well I am at work. What a crazy morning it was. You say you want me to tell you all about it?? Well then I will :thumbsup2
Bob and I have this understanding that when there are even 2 snowflakes in the air we swap cars. I drive a expensive sled (Mustang) and he drives the van. When I looked out this morning there was ice on the roads so Bob got the van warmed up and brushed off so I could drive it. When I tried to leave the van would not move. The back wheels were frozen! Can you believe that! I didn't even know they would do that. Well Bob tried and tried to get them unstuck but not happening. So I started off in my car. Got about 2 miles from home and got stuck on a hill. I had to back down then decided to just go home. Since the van was unuseable and I had my car Bob borrowed Jaymee's car which is also a Mustang. He got all the way to work and found out Jaymee was not carrying her proof of insurance and had a expired registion paper. So he had to come back home to get the van which still was frozen. After about half an hour of using a blow dryer thingy got the wheels unfrozen. Bob left for work again and had to come home a third time because he for got some stuff. WHAT A MORNING!

Well Bob and I are both at work now. The roads are mostly melted and it is only October!!

Oh yeah.... Lunch sounds great! We have not met up for lunch in a VERY long time. Lets do it!! There are lots of places around Park Meadows.

Well I was in the Dole website. I really want to visit the Dole plantation when we are in Hawaii.

I sure hope the Magic goes to Hawaii sometime!

YAY Sandy gets a Grandma day!! I LOVE spending time with Ethan. He makes my heart swell when he only wants his Nana to hold him.

Yay Barb agreed to lunch!!!

Barb - your morning sounded horrible. I think if I were you and Bob I would have stayed at home...what an adventure for the 2 of you. But glad you both made it safely to work. I love your description of your sled (Mustang). That was pretty funny, you always seem to make me laugg...you have such a great personality.

How sweet that Ethan does that, it must make you feel very special. I wish my niece and nephew would do that to me on their own free will....instead I make them do that! (just kidding) But when they fall asleep on me from rocking them it is extremely hard to put them in their beds because it is so sweet to watch them sleep.

Heehee Heidi.... Jaymee was very offended this morning when I was holding Ethan and she tried to take him from me. Ethan shook his head no, and pretended to ignor her. Here is me

Barb- we let the vet adopt our cat. Hopefully she can make him feel better. He is a good cat for the most part but he just has all those expensive problems that we can't afford to fix. The only option for us was to put him to sleep until the vet called.
If you know where Park Meadows is...I am only about 15 minutes away. Like I said PM me or I can PM you and give you directions. I definitely would love to meet you!!!

It was a great day indeed.

Heidi, you know that magnet I made for the stateroom door with the babies pictures on? Well Tyler was looking at it and kissed ME on the picture. Ahhh, cute or what? In fact, he left oreo cookie crumbs on it when kissing. Joey enjoyed pointing out who was who. I guess that magnet is on the fridge forever.

Barb, I think you will LOVE Hawaii. I can't remember, are you cruising or flying and staying there? When we were in St. Lucia we saw banana plantations. That was pretty cool. I am in shock about your van freezing to the pavement. Unbelievable. By the way, I use to drive a mustang and I know for a fact that they are not good in snow. Wow, what a morning for the two of you!

COOL, lunch it is! SOON!

It's GRANDMOM JEANNE!!!!!! Thank you all for the congratulations and a special "thank you" to Sandy and Ted. The baby is doing so well. She weighed 8 lbs. 9 ozs. on Monday when the visiting nurse did her visit. Diana is doing so well with breastfeeding.

I had to read everything all the way back to find out what was going on and what every one was talking about. It is really sad :sad1: that we can't even joke on "OUR OWN HOME" :grouphug: board.

My days off have been filled with feeding my mother, feeding myself, driving :drive: to my son and daughter-in-law's house then encouraging Diana to shower while I'm there, feed the baby and then take a nap. I have been bringing them a dinner that can be popped in the oven since I like to leave by 3:30 PM (since the road connecting our homes gets bumper-to-bumper :drive: after 4:00 PM). The days I work they are on their own! I am back to work Thursday and Friday. I am sorry :o I haven't been posting.

HEIDI: Loved your pictures.

BARB & SANDY: I'm getting to know how it feels to be a "Grandmom".

JULIE & DENINE: I am very jealous but hope you are having a terrific time. Tell Mickey ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo Minnie and the whole gang I said "HI".

I could do a Disney Cruise :sail: to Hawaii in 2008. Barb will be able to tell us what to see in Hawaii.

Miss you all :grouphug: but you are always in my thoughts. Toodles  :earseek: JEANNE

Sounds like a fun day Sandy! We are actually taking a 15 day cruise to Hawaii. We are leaving out of San Diego.

Stacy-I am so sorry about your kitty. :grouphug: Glad the vet is taking him and able to give him the medical treatment he needs. Don't feel bad. You did the right thing.

Heidi-You and I must have about the same hours at work. Seems you leave right at the same time I do and Fridays off are AWESOME!

That is so funny Barb. I noticed yesterday that you get in about the same time in the morning as I do!!!!

Jeanne - your back, we missed you. WE WANT TO SEE PICTURES!!!! If you can email them to me I will post pictures. I am dying to see the new little princess.

It is an HONOR to have friends like the Van Horns and I would not miss this for anything. Friends stick together!!

Jeanne- So glad you are back posting. We need baby updates! Isn't being a Grandma...Nana (in my case) the BEST!!!
