Heidi: That is exciting! We have never gotten an upgrade. You will love the verandah!

I almost talked to Julie. We said hi, but she was on the phone with her mom when I called her back. I will try later if I don't hear from her.

Kaleigh wants to do more gluing. Told her she would have to wait until tomorrow.

Good Afternoon!

Boy have I been a slacker. I stayed home yesterday because the roads up North were horrible. I can't even believe my Dad went to work yesterday. I worked on some of the poster boards for Tiffany's graduation. I am making 5 of them. I am scrapbooking on poster board with pictures of Tiffany growing up. One of them is baby pictures, one is dance pictures, one is cheerleading. The ones I have left is growing up and family. She wants me to do a friend one too. They are taking about 3 hours each. I had no idea it would take that long to do one!

Bob's Mom called the other day and she is coming out in May for Amanda and Tiffany's graduation. I am pretty excited because no one ever stays with me. Now on top of the wedding, graduation and getting the yard planted I now have to clean drawers, cupboards and paint the bathroom upstairs. Wooo Hoo I have an exciting couple of months ahead of me!!

Heidi-Congrats on the upgrade. How do you get an upgrade? Never had one before. Do they just do it automatically? I have been eyeing that vacume for a while. Let me know how it works.

update on Julie's dad:

He will be having surgery to amputate his foot and possibly more on Thursday. They can't wait any longer since the foot is poisioning the rest of his body. The situation is pretty grave at this point. They made him a DNR. They are still waiting for the last EKG results. They don't know if he had an exacerbation of asthma or if he is in CHF. Kepp them all in your prayers please.

Julie will keep me posted and we may take the kids on Thursday if she needs us.

Thanks for the update Denine....too bad half that stuff was a foreign language to me!!!!!!

Julie - hang in there. Prayers and pixie dust to you, your family, and your dad.

I feel so bad that my mom didn't get an upgrade, I couldn't sleep last night because of it. I just feel guilty. I know in time it won't be so dissapointing to my mom and dad but right now I feel awful.

Barb - well, I ordered the vacuum and then I got a call last night saying that there was none available in any of their stores, but I could special order it and it would take 6-8 weeks. I was hoping for the 3-5 days they promised me. So who knows if/when I will get that stupid vacuum!!!

Good Morning!

Denine- Thanks for the update on Julie's Dad. I don't understand all you were trying to tell us but got the general idea.

Heidi-Don't feel guilty because you got the upgrade. There is a long time between now and September so well be pulling for your Mom to get it too.

I drove my car into work today. First time I've driven it since Friday. The roads were not to bad but still icy in spots.

130 napkin ring holder done!!!! I am also done with the candle favors and 5 out 16 guest table center pieces. I worked on the picture poster boards for the graduation party last night. I took a poster board and covered it with pieces of paper to form a quilt looking background. It turned out really really cute but took over 2 hours and I have not even started putting pictures on it. I am thinking of "Sewn in the Love of her Family" as the title.

Julie will be updating me later. She has Kindergarten registration this morning and then is going to the hospital.

DNR: Do Not Resusitate
CHF: Congestive heart failure

Kaleigh and I went up to the library at 9 AM just to discover it doens't open until 12 PM. Poor thing was almost in tears. We glued some wood pieces together and she is watching a movie while the glue dries and then we will paint them.

Barb: I love the title!

Heidi: Will never have a clean house.

Just off the phone with Julie. Her dad's surgery has been moved up to 4:30 this afternoon. I am on standby to get the little ones. Keep them in your prayers please!

 Thanks for pulling for my mom to get an upgrade too. You are right, there is still 168 days left until we cruise so things could happen. :sunny:

Barb, you are so creative, do you think it could rub off of you and on to me???

Denine - thanks for the clarification!!!

We are off to get Julie's kids. I told her to have their jammies ready in case they spend the night.

Denine - that is so nice of you to take the kids for Julie.

Julie - many more prayers and hugs coming your way.

You're a wonderful friend Denine! Please tell Julie we're thinking of her. :grouphug:

Hi everyone, no time to read but wanted to stop in and say hi. My niece is here today and we are making a fleece CU blanket. Will try and get on later. Hugs.

Things changed by the hour or more today. Julie's dad went into surgery about 2:30 PM, instead of 4:30 PM. I was already on my way to Parma when Julie tried to call me to tell me and that she had dropped the kids off at an aunts. Then, her sister-in-law picked them up from there. Julie was quite distraught about everything, understandably so. So, I got some free-way driving experience. We may still need to watch the kids tomorrow. Just trying to help them out like they helped us in January.

Julie will let me know how it goes. We did see Julie and Garry and her mom at the hospital for a minute.

JULIE: So sorry about your Dad.

HEIDI: Congrats on the upgrade! Your Mom told me to check our reservations but I haven't gotten around to it yet.

I only read the last page since I am SOOOOOO far behind. The computer :badpc: has been really slow and I don't know why since it was just cleaned. I have been busy (but no busier then you guys). My first day off is alway dedicated to shopping, washing, cleaning, etc. Yesterday there was a Union Meeting & today I have just been bumming around. My Uncle (my mother's brother) is in the Hospice Hospital in Florida so I may have to fly to Ft. Myers, Florida, if my uncle passes. He is a DNR. An LPN at work died suddenly Monday night at the age of 51. She survived lung cancer, came back to work in January & then passed out & died Monday night. How sad :sad2: She has three daughters & the one is getting married in December. It is a sad time. All our parents are getting old :sad2: :sad2:

DENINE: You are a good friend.

BARB: Nothing better then a full house :grouphug:

Hope you all have a good week. Back to work Thursday & Friday. Miss you all :grouphug: Toodles  JEANNE

final update for tonight.

Julie's dad made it through surgery. They took his foot to the ankle and left it open to drain off more of the infection. The next 48 hours will be pretty critical. They hope to go back in on Monday or Tuesday to take the leg to the knee.

Julie is planning on keeping the kids tomorrow, but we told her whatever she needs, just call.

Julie is pretty worn out as is her mom, but at least they have made it to this point.

Please continue to keep them all in your prayers.

Did any of you hear that there were people from a cruise ship killed in Chile during a bus tour that went over a mt....how sad....

My prayers are with you Julie...I can imagine how hard this is for you.

My son called today to say his mother in law died last night...they found out she had brain cancer two weeks ago....it was so strange as she was teaching school just two weeks ago and starting acting happy all the time and nothing seemed to faze her...she ran into a curb on the way to school and knocked the tire off and she continued to drive to school. After school she was wondering around and a fellow teacher asked her what was wrong and she said she thought something was wrong with her car. Her husband came and got her....she wasn't in any pain and just seemed happy all the time. We went on a cruise with them to the Panama Canal a couple years ago and she was a really nice lady. I guess you never know what is in the future....now my daughter in law is worried about her dad as he has threatened suicide as he is a very depressed person and has been on medication for quite awhile.

The board is acting up...won't let me on and this message was on my computer....I thought it was posted so am going to try it again and see if I can get on

I am glad Julie's dad made it through this surgery. More prayers, hugs, pixie dust.....everything!!!!!!!!!

Sally - that is so sad about your son's mother-in-law. Send them our prayers for us.

So much fog this morning. We are on a dense fog warning until 9:00am this morning. Crazy and kind of scary to drive in that much fog!!!! You could hardly see the stoplights, let alone other cars!!!!

Took my best friend out to dinner last ngiht at the elephant bar and then we worked on her application for jobs. Also bought a vaccum to borrow until mine comes in!!!!!

Oh my, so much sadness here to read today.

Julie, I am glad that your dad made it through surgery. You have been on my mind constantly. More and more prayers and pixie dust your way. :grouphug:

Denine, you are a great friend. Thanks for being there for Julie! I sure wish I could be!

Sally, I did hear about the cruise ship deaths. It does make you wonder about excursions!

Barb, the wedding seems to be coming together nicely. :woohoo:

Jeanne, sorry about the sadness in your life.

Graci has a brother, Noah. And he would go to after school daycare AT the school. Well, the director has just been arrested for sexual assaults on the BOYS. Their mother is so worked up and sad and scared and any other emotion you might think of. Noah swears that nothing happened to him. I honestly feel that if something did happen to Noah that he would have told his folks. He is a very smart boy. This all began about 3 months ago but they just finally charged him. I told Heather that the authorities wanted all eggs in the basket BEFORE they charged him and I applaud them for that.

Better run, Graci is here now and demanding breakfast.

Hopefully all this sadness will go away today.

Yesterday was not a good day for many people it seems.

Sally: Sorry to hear about your sons MIL.

Jeanne: SOrry to hear about your co-worker and uncle.

The cruise ship passengers were NOT on a ship's sponsered excursion. They went out on their own. Still very sad.

Sandy: How scary. We have 2 incidents i nour school system right now that are pending investigation. One is inappropriate touching in a grade school and the other is inappropriate touching in the high school. Both teachers have been suspended pending investigation.

Kaleigh woke up with a cold this morning. I knew she wasn't acting right yesterday. She picked it up at the birthday party on Sunday.

I work tomorrow and then I have a doctors appointment for my back in the afternoon. It is better, but that is due to the prednisone. I quit taking the nerve pain medicine. That was awful.

We hope to paint the office on Saturday.
