Went there for our first time in August and we all went on the Millenium Force for our 2nd ride. OMG...scary as heck. Can't believe I put my 6 year old on that ride...what was I thinking?? The rides at DW are going to seem like cake walks now compared to that hair raising experience.
Wow. My 11 yo rode The Raven at Holidayworld twice and now refuses to get on any coaster. On our annual pilgrimage there this year, my 8 yo almost rode it

. Maybe next year.
We're not sure where these children came from. DW and I are coaster fanatics...there's no way these are our kids!
Pete & I are the den leaders for Tigers this year (Grant is a Tiger. Mitch is a Bear). Just had our first den meeting last night and I have 12 little Tigers...OMG...wish me luck and patience. Thanks goodness I have Pete to help, he's the cool one who doesn't get frazzled. I will be the planner, he can herd the cats...I mean boys.
Congrats on being den leaders! That is a big commitment (yeah, I know, 1 hour a month...riiiight) but you're doing a great thing for your kids and others. Twelve is a pretty big den! I started with 14, but had a lot of help. I learned a lesson: use the other parents mercilessly! "Oh hi, glad you're here, hey there's something you can do for me..."
I didn't reply sooner to your post, btw, because yesterday was Scout Day in a major way. I'm still recuperating.

Avon has its Heritage Festival the last weekend in September, which also happens to be the start of popcorn sales. So, Friday night we picked up $12,000 worth of popcorn at the warehouse. Saturday morning I took my older DS to help out at a pancake breakfast one of the local charities does. Then I took younger son to pick up a friend's trailer -- the Pack is always in the parade, so the Pack decorated it and my poor truck. We had forty kids in my pickup, in the trailer, bouncing all around and throwing candy to people! Then DW was off to set up a table sale for popcorn, while I was off to the Festival where the Troop was helping run the inflatable games. Later that day I had to switch hats again and help the Pack clean up during and after the Festival.
The entire family staggered home about 10 last night....vowing once again that
next year we'll figure out a better way to do this....
Let's see if I can get some image links to work so I can show off my scouts..
Great pictures! I'll post some from the parade after I remember what I did with the camera!
