October 19, 2008 4 day Bahama - anyone else?

It is so sad to be back in the real word. Can you believe that after we came back from running errands yesterday no one cleaned our house up and left towel animals for us . DH is now sold on cruising. This was our first ever and he did not want to come home and then when he realized there was no choice he wanted to bring home our servers Anthony and Tanya and our stateroom host Piedad. I think that DCL can reimburse them for their wonderful service much better than we can.

All day Friday DH repeatedly said "this would not happen on the Wonder" and when we were at the grocery the cashier said "have a nice day" as we walked away he said doesn't she know it is "have a magical day"?

We did bite the bullet and join the DVC while on-board. After 3 years of thinking about it we signed on the line. We got a great signing bonus of a one time free 160 points because the AK villas will not be complete until May.

So we will be using ours to take our 2 neices and nephew down for spring break or early summer. They have never been and wanted to go since our first trip in 2003. They are 10, 8, and 5 years old so we think this will be the best time to take them since the two girls are about to get into that too cool age. Too cool for family, too cool for the cute stuff, and too cool for characters.

Congrats on becoming DVC members-- you won't regret it! It's the best thing that John and I ever did. It has completely changed the way that he and I vacation, especially at WDW. We've been owners since 1999 at BWV.

We just got back from FL. Cold and rainy here in northern VA. . . at least it's not snow.

It was great getting to meet so many of you. Yeah, we bit the bullet and put a deposit down on the westbound transatlantic in September 2010. They'll still have to come down in price a little for us not to cancel it, but at least we have a cabin on the ship for now!

Thanks to the encouragement from Pam and John, we can now wear our DVC Member Hats proudly. We now have a new home... The Animal Kingdom Lodge This is going to be perfect for us. I guess I'll have to add it to my signature.

It was so nice meeting all of you. I think we ran in to Bev and her family a couple of times after the cruise. (at Epcot and The Studios) She's going to think we were following her.

I'll post some pics once I get caught up on my homework.

Di-- Sorry to hear about the issue with the sales rep. If Walt was almost hooked, I would suggest that you place a call to DVC and speak to another Vacation Guide. For one, you need to let someone at DVC know if something happened that was not in line with your expectations from the sales staff. Two, you could request more information regarding AKL or any of the other properties that they are currently promoting. This would give Walt a little more info and time. Just my thoughts.

John and I have been members at BWV since 1999. I'd be happy to talk/chat to you or others about the pros and cons of owning. We're not Disney fanatics, by any stretch, but we do know customer service and quality accomodations. Both of these items are why we own DVC.

Actually no. 4 nights on the Wonder did wonders for me. If I could sail every month I would! Oh wait I am sailing next month

It was nice to have some special time with just 2 of my kids. I look forward to my trip with my older 2 next month. Although it's not Disney it should still be fun.(just not "magical" I can't help it I just love DCL!!!)

I think it's so cool that you make a special effort to do special vacations in small groups - I'm sure you are making some very special memories for your kids by doing that. They dynamic with just three of you must be so different than when all 8 of you are together. When I separate my 2 boys and do 1 on 1 things it's sooo nice. My trip to the grocery store tonight with both of them was painful...they wanted nothing more than to fight with each other over everything.

At least they were magically behaved on the cruise!! Have fun with the big kids next month!!

Hi all! We just got in yesterday...I hate that I didn't get to meet up with anyone except mclewes...in the hall doing our fish extender things...Adisyn LOVED checking the door in fact she loved it too much...I had to start leaving things for her as most of us did them on the same day! We missed the meetup by the pool as we got in and settled a little later then we thought...got hung up at Downtown Disney...then we had the muster drill and well my little one loved meeting up with the characters so we had to make sure we got that in...We had such a nice time...save a spoil sport that almost ended our trip on a bad note at the Dreams show... Castaway was great...Palo was great(did brunch and dinner) We went to WDW before and after the cruise and I don't think Adisyn will ever forget it...she got to ride the Pooh ride with Piglet, the Tea Cups with Alice and the Mad Hatter, and they GAVE her the castle playset as her magical part....We are both sad to be back in the real world and she has already started to save her money for her next trip...I did think WDW was way more crowded then I thought it would be for this time of year...we only could fit in Toy Story Mania once and that was waiting an hour...oh and we were one of the first in to see Tinkerbell! That was super cute!! Hope to get some pics uploaded this year! I took a ton and have 5 photopass cards! LOL

Well, just finished my 1st full day back to work. Last night was only 3 hours, which helped with the adjustment back.
This having been our 1st cruise I didn't know what to expect and I was blown away.

We rebooked onboard for November 28, 2009 Western Carribean cruise. The cruise starts on my 56th birthday!!!!!!! I am so excited about going again.

It was nice to have the 2 meets and the run-ins that we had on the ship, at the straw market, and at WDW after the cruise. Mike and Robin were in (I think) the fast pass line at Test Track and we got into the single rider line. We passed them a few times in line, but actually got on the ride about 4-5 cars ahead of them. We kept running into them, so I do believe they were following us (or maybe it was the other way around ). Somehow we kept picking the same parks the same days.

Saw Valerie (Snowball) from a distance one day in one of the parks, but I could only remember Snowball and I thought I would get some strange looks if I yelled that across the park! So HI Valerie.

I had a lime-green Mickey head hanging from my purse with Disboards and my screen name on it. No comments from Disers, but may CM's noticed and commented on it. I talked to them about the Dis and how someday I want to be a CM too.
