Thanks! I'm looking forward to it all... time alone, time seeing new sights, meeting new people. I think it'll have all the things I love about WDW (including all the kids!) and more.

Hi Everyone!

Our countdown clock shows that we are just 39 days away from our cruise. :cool1:  :sunny: It won't be long before we receive our documents and we are doing the single digit dance!

We are staying in the port area the night before, which is a bit of a change for us. Normally we stay near the airport. DH and I thought it would be fun to wake up closer to the ship and not be so rushed in the morning to get out the door.

The Wonder will be in dry dock the first two weeks of October. There is one cruise before ours, so hopefully they will shake out any post-dry dock issues before we board. I know after the Magic's dry dock that a few things were complete on the first Magic sailing after the refurbishment.

I think a meet  would be very cool. Where and When?

Well, I am a new cruiser, so I am not familiar with the ship at all ... I suppose it would all depend on what dining times we all requested and things like that ... somewhere that is easy for the newbies to find, etc. What about right after the sail-away party somewhere?

Kat

Wow, I hope the ship is as empty as our cruise meet thread ... we just might have the entire ship to ourselves!! LOL

Where is everyone?? What is going on in everyone's cruise planning??

We are super excited!!

Hi, Kat!

I'm a new cruiser also and will be traveling solo, so would enjoy saying hi to some Dis folks.

Thanks for reviving the thread!

Hi,

My DH, DD (2.5yrs) and DD (4.5yrs) are going on our first cruise ever and chose the Disney Wonder for 10/19/06.

We are looking for other families to get to know and maybe introduce little ones to prior to cruising to smooth over the newness of the kids clubs.

We look forward to meeting you.

I just sent you an e-mail. We will be on the same cruise and my DD, turns 5 in December. She can be very shy so I would love to have her get to know someone prior to going to the clubs.

Renee

Renee,

My apologies for my DD sending the email fairly late last night ... but my sister-in-law passed away on Friday and the wake was last night so we rotated baby-sitting so that all of the family could go and by the time we realized the time, we figured we missed your DD for that day but we are looking forward to hearing from her!!

Kat

Hello and welcome!! Nice to see that you found the thread. There aren't so many of us here really so hopefully it will be a nice group before long since we are so close to cruisin'!

We leave a month from today on October 18th which is my daughter's 9th birthday. We too are first time cruisers and we too are very excited!! :cool1:

Kat,

Please don't apolegize. I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I will say a prayer for her and your family.

My daughter read the e-mail and was quite excited that they have the same interests. She sent a reply tonight and with the time difference, your daughter was likely in bed. Emily is a little intimidated by the age difference hence the question regarding age again. Kids can be funny.

Take care,
Renee

Renee,

Gabi was BESIDE herself when she saw the response from Emily. Please reassure her about the age difference. It's only a year and funny enough, Gabi is very short for her age ... she still wears clothes in a 6x so they'll look like they are the same age. :rotfl2: :)

Kat,

Emily loved Gabi's picture. We were too busy with homework tonight but will send her an e-mail out tomorrow with her picture. :artist:

Wow, everyone ... only 28 days left!!

:thumbsup2 :cool1:  :Pinkbounc

I'm going to pick up all of my reading materials and really get serious now about all of this information!

Is anyone eating at Palo's? We have reservations ... but I do not want to miss eating at Animator's Palate so I hope we don't get AP on the same night that we have Palo's.

Is anyone doing any excursions? I don't think we are besides parasailing at CC. My daughter wants to do this and I am FREAKED OUT but I will do it for her because she's only 8 so I don't want her going alone. We did a dolphin swim/ray encounter at Discovery Cove in April so I think we'll just vedge out this trip.

Does everyone know that we are on the 2nd sailing (first 3 night sailing) after the Wonder comes out of dry dock? We'll have all of the new stuff like the linens, towels, bath products, etc ... she'll be all brand spankin' new for us!!!

We have reservations for Palo's on the 2nd night. We booked massages on Castaway Cay but nothing else. We thought about doing Atlantas but with a 4 year old - it really just sounded exhausting. I did not want to make too many plans because we want to relax. We are at Disney World for the 5 days prior and, honestly, thinking about getting to all the restaurants for the DDP has me wiped out! At Nassau, we are probably going to go to the Straw Market and Pirate's Museum, then back to the ship to relax. The in-laws are coming, I hope. My MIL is in remission from an incredibly rare and severe leukemia - 1 year remission and counting. She currently has a "stomach virus" which has completely wiped her out. I am hoping she recovers in the next few weeks - she wants to spend this time with her grandkids.

Kat,
Once you get on the ship, you will find out your dining rotation and if you Palo's conflicts with animator's palatte go to ?guest services desk and see if you can change it. Others may trying to do the same thing. Just make sure you get Gabi up to the pool as soon as you arrive - this is when it is the least busy. Emily will be there and looking for Gabi - :). I'm not sure if we will eat by the pool or in the restaurant. I think we will wing it and see what the kids want to do.

I get tired of planning. I have already planned out our Disney vacation for March and am looking at trying to figure out Thanksgiving. I love vacation! But, it sure is a lot of work planning them.

We received our documents today. They were on the ground next to our mailbox. Eeek! All the other mail was in the box...I'm glad the wind wasn't blowing hard today. :sunny:
