October 19, 2006 3 day

A secret eh? How old are your kids??? I wish I had done it that route ... but I needed my daughter's puppy eyes to convince my husband!!! and Yay!! it worked!! So I guess it all works out in the end!! My daughter turns 9 the day before the cruise (10/18) and my son is 16.

We have 2 boys - they'll be DS11 and DS9 at the time we're cruisin'. :sail:

Looks like it will be a very empty ship! There must be others booked by now!
My DD7 has us watching the DCL video at least twice a week now. I'm not sure how we will make it until October. My DS10 is already looking up Navigators from recent trips to see what kinds of activities he has to look forward to. This is all so exciting!!

The kids know about the cruise, but we just added a couple days at Disney so we can catch the MNSSHP. Yeah!

Hello All! This is my first post, so be gentle with me! We are also on the 10/19 Wonder sailing. My DH, DS10 and DD7 and I are all excited to cruise for the first time together. We just returned from a WDW trip in January and now we cannot get enough Disney. :thumbsup2

I just realized you also have a DD7. My DD7 will be turning 8 about 1 week after the cruise so I am planning on putting her in the Lab instead of the Club. How old will your daughter be by the cruise?

Renee

my daughter is 8 now and will turn 9 on the 18th ... the day before the cruise.

we are getting very excited at home ... i think we are going to make a paper chain soon like when we count down to other Disney trips!!

Hello DIZZNY!

My DD7 won't turn 8 for another 6 months, but I have every intention of trying to move her up to the lab. She saw the video of the Club and said "that is for babies!" I know she would do well in the lab, so I am hoping the CM's will agree and let her move up. I posted this question on another thread, and most agreed that she could probably be moved up.

jesters and disneymomforlife,

Jesters, I think I read that thread but I didn't realize it was you. Funny.

Well, if your little girls would like a pen pal leading up to the cruise, I'm sure mine would be very excited. She is a very outgoing child and loved the club, but really only talked about all the times they visited the lab. It was good to have her in the club especially for our first cruise because our 3 year old wasn't too sure about anything. She did well having her sister nearby but now she just finished K-3 and I think she will do just fine. If not, my husband's parents are now going so I think we will still get a little break. At least I hope we do after spending 5 days at WDW.

Renee

Renee,

My daughter has already talked about how she will go about gaining friends on board (very outgoing as well) so if you would like, they can definitely be pen pals before the cruise. She has her own email address in aol so if you'd like, PM me and i'll email it to you. We watched the Travel Channel special the other night and she's just beside herself with excitement.

Hey all ...

we are getting so excited for the cruise ... we've watched the Travel Channel DCL special 3 times already since it was on TV less than a week ago. :cloud9: My husband was actually very impressed with the images of the ship and whatnot ... that's a great sign since he's so apprehensive about getting sick. :faint:

hope you are all doing well!

My DD:cat: 10, and I, :wizard: have booked our first cruise for Oct. 19th. We are also entering our first discussion forum.... I am a Disneyland veteran, having grown up in Southern California, and visited the Land at least once a year from birth. I made my first trip to Disney World in 1983.

welcome!! it seems like all of our girls are right around the same age so I guess we have a lot in common already!! this is our first cruise and we are super excited!!

kat

We are finally in double digits! YEAH :cool1:

Yahoo! Can't wait to pick out a spa treatment! 90 days away is approaching. :cool1:

so what's the deal with pre-booking things ... can you book things if your final bill isn't paid yet? Ours is due 8/5 ... so can we book things online if it's not paid yet or no?

kat

As far as I know you do have to be paid in full before being able to book Palo, excursions, spa online. I got the Romantic Escape at Sea package so already have Palo booked, CC excursion and a massage. Can't wait!

So, all ... I know we've discussed this in passing but I think with just about 3 months to go, it would be a perfect time for our kids to get to know one another if anyone is interested in doing so. I know that my daughter is very excited about getting to know a few kids before we go. My daughter is 8 and turns 9 the day before the cruise. She has an aol email address or we can snail mail so if anyone out there is interested, let me know!!

Hi Everyone!

I'm late joining the thread, but am excited to be cruising (first-time cruiser) on the Wonder 10/19. I'll be travelling solo and am a bit nervous about how this will work in terms of dinner seatings. I travel solo to WDW frequently and love it, but am shy and don't want to barge in on a family group at dinner. I'm sure people will be very nice and welcoming, but still.... Anyone have experience with this? How many are seated at one table?

Thanks for your input. Just made final payment today!

Hi Laurie!
Good for you for being brave and cruising on your own! I admire that as I often have to go to movies, out to dinner, etc... on my own, too. I know that last year we grown-ups went on our own and were sat with two other couples. But I'm not sure how it works for singles. I know that they do have adult and singles activities on board though. You will have a great time!

Thanks for the support! I'm sure I will have a great time. Busy reading Passporter and getting more and more excited. I'll be hooked on cruising, I'm sure.
